The OP Games Looking to Help the Environment

Look, we need to take care of the Earth. That’s just a fact. And everyone needs to help do their part. The OP Games is looking to help out as they’ve partnered with One Tree Planted to help local ecosystems.

From the article:

Usaopoly® (The Op), the board game and puzzle publisher behind the best-selling party games Telestrations® and Blank Slate™, has announced a new partnership with One Tree Planted, a non-profit environmental charity, as part of The Op’s latest initiative to improve our home state of California. “The Op GiveBack Program”, which focuses on Environmental and Community improvements, includes planting one tree seedling for every game sold on TheOp.games website.“To acknowledge the use of trees in the production of our products, we wanted to take action that would lend to the restoration of expended or destroyed resources, which aligns with One Tree Planted’s commitment to global reforestation, and also contributes to the beautification of our home. We will be planting a tree for every order placed on our website to ensure that the sustainability of our games reflects the long-lasting memories made by the families that enjoy them” said John M. Davis, President and CEO, The Op.

The Corporate Tree Planting partnership entails replenishing forests throughout California with up to 20,000 trees through 2021, with One Tree Planted providing the care and transplanting of the seedlings. With the charitable organization’s facilitation, The Op is able to make real-world impact through measurable results that involve the community.

“Restoring California’s landscapes for cleaner air, water, and biodiversity has been one of our key focus areas in the US for several years now” said Matt Hill, Chief Environmental Evangelist at One Tree Planted. “We’re happy to have the support of The Op in creating a healthy environment close to home.”

The Op has contributed to over 50 different local and national groups since the company’s beginning in 1994 including Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, National Park Foundation, and Operation Smile, to name a few. The decision to plant trees reflects their ever-evolving dedication to giving beyond monetary and material gifts to schools and non-profits, in order to improve the health of our planet, the future habitat of our youth, and the world’s generations to come.
