The D6 Generation now has episode 107 up online for your listening pleasure. In this episode:

Tom Vasel joins us in the third chair! Tom, whom Russ calls “The Dean of Boardgame Podcasting” is the man behind the Dice Tower Podcast.

Since Tom got an early chance to play Descent 2, and since Russ and Craig have read through the rules, we thought it would be fun to do a Descent second edition preview. We cover what’s new, what is compatible, and what to expect from this update to a beloved game.

Later it’s a double game episode as the three hosts then dive into Leviathans! The brand new game of flying ship combat from Catalyst Game Labs.

All that and our other not-too-horrible segments including:
– Total Fan Girl
– Do You Ever Notice
– When you wish upon a game
– & More

Did they like Leviathans or not?

I listened for 37 minutes and they were still going on about audio books, so I gave up.

It would probably benefit you to know that the D6 Generation, a very long-running podcast, is very structured. And part of that structure is that the reviews are the end of the (rather long) episode.

The review starts at 2 hours and 2 minutes into the podcast, so you’l probably want to fast forward to that part.

They’ve also got a pretty long-standing policy of “no hate,” so if they really don’t like a game that they’ve played, they’ll typically just not do a review rather than bash a game and give it bad press just because three guys didn’t like it. The fact that they’re reviewing it is a bit of a surprise to me, as I seem to remember that they played it at Gen Con last year and said they probably wouldn’t be reviewing it.

    Thanks for the time-stamp!

It’s a really comprehensive review and a very positive one, from my perspective. (I fit in the 2+ bracket…)
