The idea that there are multiple versions of our universe floating around out there in different dimensions means that potentially, somewhere, you're a multi-billionaire that made all your money via gummi-worms. That just seems kinda cool. What wouldn't be so great, though, is if some sort of magical event (let's call it "the Convergence" for sake of argument) forced all those parallel realities to now orbit one-another, leaving ripples of the other existences that you now pass through on regular occurrences, causing no end of havoc. That's just what's going on in The Chronicles of Aerthe, a new fantasy RPG that's up on Kickstarter.
The Chronicles of Aerthe is a new setting as well as rules set. The setting allows for a wide variety of character styles and story potential. As the various alternate realities pass in and around one-another, you can come across new civilizations, ancient ruins, and terrible monsters. There are seven playable races in the game. Teamed up with the two dozen Professions, there's lots of ways you can customize your character. They have a Quick Start set of rules over on their page that you can download and check out.
The Kickstarter campaign is approaching half-funded with still 29 days left to go.
