Warpath

Dreadball really expanded the Warpath universe. The game, taking place in the same galaxy, is filled with all manner of alien races. Well, now, one is making its way to Warpath tabletops, coming out of the arena. It's the Asterians. You can pre-order your kits now from the Mantic website. There's all manner of different bundles available.
I mentioned earlier not wanting to just walk to battle. Where's the fun in that? No, you want to in style, like in some awesome combat vehicle. Well, the Enforcers and Forge Fathers in Warpath don't want their troops just hoofing it to the conflict, so they're getting some new vehicle releases next month.
Getting into a new game, or even just a new force within a game you already play, can be a bit of a chore. Trying to figure out what all you need isn't always the easiest to figure out. That's where ready-to-play (once assembled, anyway) army forces can really help out. In the case of Mantic's Warpath, there's a bunch of new army deals available over in their webshop.
You might think to yourself, "man, all these zombies around here. I should just blast myself into space. It's probably safer there." But that might not actually be the case. There's war among the stars, too. So you might as well pick your poison. Take on some new releases for The Walking Dead: All Out War, or possibly die on a planet far from Earth in Warpath. Both are available now over on Mantic's website.
As you all very well know, I'm a "try before you buy" sort of gamer. If I can even just get a read of the rules beforehand, it'll really help me decide if a game's for me or not. With so many out there (and more coming all the time), I certainly can't play them all. So I think it's awesome that Mantic has posted a bunch of their rules for free on their website. To that list, they've now included Warpath.
Gamers love being the first ones on their block with the latest and greatest releases. If you're a fan of Mantic's sci-fi miniatures game, Warpath, you'll be wanting to head over to their webshop. They've started taking pre-orders for the next set of releases. That includes Operation Heracles, a 2-player starter set pitting the Enforcers against the Forge Fathers (because everyone needs some space dwarves in their life).
We're only 4 days away from the end of 2016. I know a lot of people are going to be very happy about that. Lots because 2016 wasn't the greatest. But, really, it's also because there's a lot to look forward to in 2017. Certainly, the folks at Mantic have a lot planned, and they've laid out some of their announcements in a new article.
Warehouses are not infinite in size. They can, and often do, get filled up with things. This can be a problem when you've got a bunch of new, cool things you need to store in it. Mantic is running into that problem. Their warehouse is full, but they've got a bunch of new games on their way. That means they need to make some room. That's good news for you.
The Warpath campaign over on Kickstarter is coming to an end. The clock for Mantic's sci-fi miniatures game is at 4 days and dropping fast (at a rate of 1 day every 24 hours or so). There's still plenty of stretch goals to go through, though, and with the addition of a 6th faction, the GPCS, it's looking like they'll make it through some of them.
Comin' down the mountaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain! *guitar, guitar, guitar*
Seeing as that's what Ray and I were just talking about that, and we are sliding down the mountain towards the weekend. Because segue!
Mountains can also be used as terrain for your minis games.
Because another segue!
Add those all up and we've got Thursday's Terrain Corner.

Today's stories are: Front Arc announces playmat by Deep-Cut Studio for their upcoming Kickstarter campaign, New Tablescapes Tiles Options From Secret Weapon, and Mantic Adds Terrain to Warzone Kickstarter.

The Warpath Kickstarter campaign is inching ever closer to 10x funded. That would be a pretty big milestone for the campaign and the game, and not just in terms of having gotten to 10x their funding level. That will unlock the Asterians, a new faction for the game. Yes, they're rather lithe and their helmets look like they have pointy ears, but don't call them Elves. To help make it there, Mantic has created a bunch of add-ons that you can use to customize your force just how you want.
The Plague is coming... and I don't mean cold and flu season here in the northern hemisphere. The Warpath Kickstarter keeps on chugging along at a pretty steady pace. Backers are pushing the campaign closer and closer to 10x funded. As such, the Plague is soon to be unlocked.
Mantic is wasting no time this week with the big news. They've launched their Kickstarter campaign for Warpath. Seems that people are pretty excited about the launch (as they should be, to be fair), as the campaign rocketed past their initial goal and has more than doubled that total (quickly headed toward triple-funded, if they're not already there by the time you read this). Warpath is Mantic's sci-fi army-sized combat miniatures game (in case you'd forgotten).
Ronnie and the fellows over at Mantic have been very busy lately They've been sending out thousands of boxes of Kings of War and DreadBall XTreme to the various backers of those campaigns. Dungeon Saga will be the next one to get to the warehouses and shipped out to a grateful gaming community. However, this update isn't about those games. It's about Warpath, Mantic's sci-fi army game. They weren't happy with the first version and so they're getting set for a new Kickstarter campaign for the game.
Warpath, Mantic's sci-fi miniatures wargame, has a new edition of their rules up online for you to check out. The basic stats for Corporations are in there. Then there's the Forge Fathers, Enforcers, and the Plague. The rules have been being worked on for five years, so hopefully you'll find them fun to play and nicely balanced.
Mantic is showing off previews for the blisters and the final painted versions of the new Enforcers they've been working on. No more will they be made of resin, these Warpath models are going plastic.

Mantic Games has the next version of Warpath coming out soon and to help players get into the game, they're introducing one-player battle box sets.

From the announcement:

Warpath is still a relative newcomer to the gaming world (in fact, it’s not even a year old!) and already we have the makings of four great looking armies.

The rules have undergone quite a significant change and over the next couple of months it’s going to go into a kind of an incubation period where it will be play tested to breaking point, both by us internally and by you guys too hopefully. The Warpath 2.0 Beta Rules will be released on the newsletter tomorrow, so make sure you’re signed up!

Also growing and expanding is the range of great value sci-fi miniatures that we produce and we’re always on the look-out for great ways of getting soldiers into people’s hands – and that’s where the One Player Battle Set have come from!

Mantic is getting into the spirit of the season with their zombie marine army bundle they've got going on now.

From the update:

Fallen battle-brothers from the Deadzone VI massacre, Z Corp are mindless, plague-ridden corpses, reanimated by whatever malignant viral infection resided planetside. Chaotic in their way of fighting, the shambling Z Corp are one of the horrors of battle the Corporation try to keep hidden away from the databanks.

This great looking unit of mutilated, infection-driven soldiers has been converted from our excellent Zombie and Ghoul frames with the components from the Corporation Marines – and we've put together this great-value bundle so that you can build your own!
