Review Roundup

It's time once more for a Review Roundup. Why? Because it's Saturday! Woo!
As you read this, I'm hanging out with some friends, playing games. Took over a group of favorites, and hopefully will get me a new Guild Ball opponent, too. I also baked brownies, because I can't go to a friend's place empty-handed. Hopefully you're doing something similar, be it at a friend's place, your garage, or your LGS.
But anyway, I know you're really here for those reviews.

Today we have: Legends Untold, Mage Wars Academy: Warlock & Priestess Expansions Review, Aggressor: Recon, Shadows of Brimstone, Tambuzi, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle, Kill Doctor Lucky: Deluxe 19.5th Anniversary Edition, Tanks: Panther vs Sherman, Junk Art, Roll Player, and Potion Explosion.

Review Roundup

Hey there, everyone. I hope you're all having a great Saturday. I just got back from the grocery store (I'm typing this up a decent amount earlier than it is set to go live) so I can get ready to have some company over for a low-key Halloween party. I'm making cookies, chocolate-coated peanut butter balls, and gumbo. Should be a good time. I'm sure a lot of you have somewhat similar plans.

As for the moment, though, before I dive into a bit of last-minute cleaning and then work on cooking, let's get you those gaming reviews I know you all so desperately desire.

This week we have: Bankers and Robbers, Dungeon Saga, Harry Potter Deck-Building Game, Conquest Games' Medieval Archers, Mysterium, Aeon's End, Love Letter: Premium Edition, Mortem Et Gloriam, The Networks, Eclipse: Shadow of the Rift, Tumult Royale, Necronomicards, Cthulhu Crusades, and Loony Quest.

USAopoloy Posts A Look Inside the Marvel Munchkin 2 Set

Super hero comics are filled with all sorts of mystical and magical heroes and items. The Munchkin Marvel 2: Mystic Mayhem (Mmmmm!) set is filled with all things magical. But there's more than just that, and we get a look at it here.

Review Roundup

Hey there, everyone. Can you feel it? That's the feeling of the weekend. Isn't it just grand? My Facebook feed's full of pictures of people at all sorts of conventions and events. Me? I'm taking a "weekend off," such as it were. I'm happy to live vicariously through those photos, instead choosing to just chill at the bear cave here, sip on some Dew, and do some gaming of the electronic variety (hey, I'm allowed!).

I'm also getting your Review Roundup ready. Obviously, when you read this, it will be done. But at the exact moment I'm typing this, it's still a work in progress.
... wait... ok, yeah, now it's done.

Anyway, today we have articles on: Rockopolis, Star Trek Panic, Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu, Stick to Colours, Carrotia, Karuba, Prospectus, Tiki Island, Winner’s Circle, Flick ‘Em Up, and Grifters.

USAopoly Releases Rollers Dice Game

What is it about rolling dice? Just earlier, when thinking about what I wanted to type for a different story, I grabbed some D20 that I keep here at my desk (I've also got various D6s) and was just rolling them. It was for no reason at all, just something to do while I thought about what I wanted to type. Most of us love rolling dice. That's why there's so many games that involve them. And new games come out all the time that use dice. Take, for example, Rollers, a new dice game from USAopoly.

But the 8.5 hour drive back home is. Buh. No fun at all. But at least once I'm back home I'll be able to get back into the groove of some gaming.

In the meantime, let's get you some gaming reviews.

Today we have: VS 2PCG A-Force Expansion, Conflict of Heroes Guadalcanal, Shattered Void, Wake Up Cthulhu, Oh My Gods, Scape, Legendary Dice Throwers, Blood & Fortune, Histrio, Mistborn: House War, Celestia, and Morocco.

USAOpoly Announces Harry Potter Deck-Building Game

He Who Must Not Be Named (you know, No-nose) is gathering his dark forces to attack Hogwarts. Who might be able to take on such a dastardly foe? Certainly not the fully-grown, experienced wizards at the school. It's up to a plucky gang of students to get things done. Only Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville can stem the tide of evil and shore up Hogwarts' defenses. That's the story in the new Harry Potter Deck-building Game just announced by USAOpoloy.

What a Marvel it is: An Unboxing and Review of Munchkin Marvel

I don’t particularly have anything against DC Comics, but I’ve always just enjoyed Marvel more. That’s extended from the comics I read in the 90s through the products I see coming out that have the Marvel license. And with the recent upswing in Marvel movies (well, comic book movies in general, to be fair), there’s been a lot more things coming out that mix my love of tabletop gaming with my love of Marvel. And so here, today, we have the Marvel set for Munchkin.

tgn-reviews_360

The fine folks at USAOpoly sent me a copy (and some extras, which we’ll get to) to check out and let you know about.

So grab your vibranium shield and web spinners, it’s time for a combined TGN Unboxing and Review. This time around it’s Munchkin Marvel by Steve Jackson Games and USAOpoloy.

Alien Vs. Predator Clue Now Available

Well... this is a new one. We're all used to seeing new skins of classic games, but some of the ones I've been hearing about lately take things in a direction you might not originally have thought would be possible. For example, today we have Alien Vs. Predator... as a game of Clue. Actually, when you read a bit more into it, it makes a lot of sense.

This Is Halloween. A Review of The Nightmare Before Christmas Munchkin by USAopoly and Steve Jackson Games

For most of my friends, Halloween is their favorite holiday of the year. What can I say? I’ve got some weird/cool friends. Though certainly they are known to sometimes dress up just for funsies at any point during the year, Halloween really lets them pull out all the stops. As such, they’re pretty much all huge fans of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. So yeah, they were all pretty jealous when this one showed up on my desk.

tgn-reviews_360

So I know you’ve already got at least one song from the movie stuck in your head, but let’s see what is this with another TGN review. This time it’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Munchkin.

USAOpoloy Posts Preview of Munchkin Zombies: The Walking Dead Set

In Munchkin Zombies: The Walking Dead, you're one of the shambling masses. But you don't just want to be one of the crowd. You want to stand out from your other brain-munching buddies and really make a name for yourself. You do that by eating the brains of prominent survivors, of course. This expansion brings the brain-munching of the Walking Dead series and adds in that bit of Munchkin whimsy.
