The Oatmeal

The folks behind Exploding Kittens are back at it on Kickstarter. This time around, it's Throw Throw Burrito. I mean, how many games out there do you get to throw stuffed food at your opponent as part of the game mechanics? Not enough of them, if you ask me.

... though now I do want a burrito... Though, I guess, that's honestly nothing new. I always want burritos...

The group behind Exploding Kittens has once more headed to Kickstarter. This time around it's all about Bears and Babies. Can you create a monster strong enough to defeat an army of horrifying babies? That's your task in Bears vs. Babies.

It's pretty hard to forget the phenomena that was/is Exploding Kittens. The game took over Kickstarter for quite some time and has quite a following. Well, now you don't even need those pesky cards anymore in order to play if you don't want to. They have now made an Exploding Kittens app.
Earlier this year, Exploding Kittens figuratively blew up Kickstarter. In 30 days, Elan Lee and his team raised almost $9 million thanks to the help of 219,382 backers. Some people here in the office were among that crowd. And a mere 6 months later, Exploding Kittens has made it to their desks. So, now that we’ve gotten a chance to play the game, was it worth all the hype?

Meow, meow, meow, Kablooey! It's time for another TGN Review. This time it's Exploding Kittens.

Well, it's all over, folks. The Exploding Kittens Kickstarter campaign has come to an end. The final total was a whopping $8,768,845 with 219,382 backers, making this the most backed project in Kickstarter history.

The crew held an AMA on Reddit leading up to the campaign conclusion. We picked out some of the more interesting questions/answers after the break.

Exploding Kittens has had quite the run, but it's coming to an end. There's only ~7 hours left (depending on when you read this post, of course) in the campaign. They've unlocked everything. The last piece they unlocked they're keeping a secret. You'll just have to wait until your kit arrives.

And don't miss the the Reddit AMA with the guys behind the game today at 7:30 PM EST.

TGN contributor and Ravage Magazine's EIC Jared Miller managed to get a moment of Elan Lee's time to quickly chat about the "Most Backed Campaign in Kickstarter History," Exploding Kittens.

The Oatmeal, the popular web comic series, is running a Kickstarter campaign for Exploding Kittens, their new card game of... well... the name sort of says it all, doesn't it?
The game just launched today and it's well over 10x funded already. There's still 30 days left to go to check it out.

Update: Make that more than 33x funded.
We could be looking at the new highest-funded card game here.

Update 2: Possibly one of the biggest starts ever for a Kickstarter campaign. You should be checking this out already by now. What's wrong with you if you haven't? I mean, come on!!!

Update 3: More than 36x funded.
