Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher

Badgers are tenacious little critters. I know Hendybadger is tenacious, at least. He always knows what the folks at Knight Models are up to. They've been posting a bunch of updates to both the Marvel and DC Miniatures Games.

Knight Models has their next sets of releases available over in their webshop for both the Batman Miniatures Game as well as the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game. Knight Models already had quite an extensive collection of Marvel characters before the game came out. Now some of them are starting to get repackaged with stat cards for the game.

Supposedly starter sets are out there among the people for the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game. Also, the Spider Man rules have been out and about (they're a lot like the Batman Miniatures Game). Well, as people look at them, they're going to have questions. Well, Knight Models is here to help with a FAQ for both games.

Don't let it be said that the fellows over at Knight Models don't listen to you, the gamers. They'd showed off a stat card for models in the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game previously, but you guys sent back some feedback. Well, they thought your feedback was pretty good, so they have updated the look of the cards and are showing off the new design. Along with that, they're giving people a look at the stats for Deadpool.

It's been a bit, but we've got another preview for the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game. This time around we get a peek at the last starter box, the X-Men. Because when you think Marvel, you think Mutants (or at least I do, but that's me). They didn't ask to be super heroes, they were just born this way. Let's take a look.

People who are known for procuring vengeance, all gather together in one place!
... Ok, so maybe it's better when Cap does it. What do you want? I didn't get injected with super-soldier serum. I'm just some dude.
Anyway, welcome back to the ongoing saga that are the previews coming out for the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game. Hendybadger showed us the Guardians of the Galaxy set yesterday. Today we get a look at the Avengers.

The badger is back at it again. He's got another look at the upcoming Marvel Universe Miniatures Game over Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher. This time around it's a bit of a closer look at what you'll be getting in the Guardians of the Galaxy starter set for the upcoming game.

Hendybadger over at Tales of A Tabletop Skirmisher continues the previews for the upcoming Marvel Universe Miniatures Game (MUMG) from Knight models. This time around we get a peek at a stat card (particularly, Drax the Destroyer's). But more than just looking at a bunch of stats without context, we get a breakdown of what everything on the card means as well.

Hendybadger has weaseled his way into finding more about the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game coming out soon from Knight Models. Thankfully, he's not keeping the info to himself and is, instead, sharing it with the rest of us. This time around we get a look at the different factions and how team-building works.

Well, it would seem, by post clicks from yesterday, that far and away the biggest story of the day was the announcement of the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game by Knight Models. I can't say that I really disagree. While there were certainly plenty of fine news items coming out, at the risk of editorializing, I'm really excited about the prospects for this one. Well, seems ol' Knight Models has been talking to a badger about the game. Hendybadger, to be specific. He's been posting some details about what we can expect in the game.

Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher takes a look at the Dr. Doom and Punisher 35mm model kits from Knight Models and gives you their thoughts on the subject.

Doom Punisher

From the article:

Today I'm going to take a look at a couple of Knight Models most recent releases for the Marvel 35mm range. Dr.Doom and the Punisher.
While they don't have a game for these models yet, KM are said to be working on a Supers rules set due out in the near future that will let you use your favourite Marvel and high powered DC characters on the tabletop. No reason you couldn't use these in any other Super Hero game until then though.

Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher has had the chance to check out the Fenris Games Post Apocalypse resin bases range.

From the review:

Over the last couple of years I have been using the Fenris Games Post Apoc base toppers but I recently found out that they do the same designs in full bases.
A set of these were up as a prize in the Paint the City Pink auctions and were won by Bubba Ho Tep from the Kentucy Fried Gamers Youtube page, as Bubba is a good friend I took some sneaky photos before sending them off.

Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher gives us another review, this time looking at the Pulp City Monsters expansion.

From the review:

My favourite game of ALL TIME has gained an expansion! Pulp City Monsters
Whats it all about? Big ass things rampaging through a city with super powered beings trying to stop them!

If you take a look at most Marvel comics lines you will see an invasion of Skrull ships, Mole Mans giant creations, huge versions of Ultron or an attack of a massive Dormammau.
Giant things attacking a city and being fought off or even controlled by Super Heroes or Villains is a staple in most comic books.
Finally you can now battle these things in the Pulp City Universe with their massive roster of Supremes!
Or if you wanted to, take on an evil Monster with a good Monster without a single Supreme in sight.

Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher tells us what they think of another of Secret Weapon Miniature's sets. This time it's their Urban Streets bases.

From the review:

When I opened the parcel I found these very professional looking packets. A lot of base companies send things in just clear bags, but Secret Weapon go that little further with retail ready packs. On the left is the 30mm set and the right is the 40mm set. Both very easy to see exactly what you are getting.

Tales of a Tabletop Skirmisher takes a look inside the Dystopian Legion rulebook and tells us what they think.

From the review:

After posting my first 2 Dystopian Legions reviews, several people asked me about the rules for the game.
You can find the Rulebook on the Spartan Games site in the Downloads Section, but for a lot of gamers hobby time is precious. You don't want to be reading an entire 80 page book for hours just to see if you might like the game and want to order some minis.
