Tails of Equestria

The first big adventure pack is now available for the Tails of Equestria RPG. Something is causing ponies to turn into little statuettes and you're the only ones that can help. Picking up where the starter adventure in the Tails of Equestria handbook left off, Curse of the Statuettes is sure to keep you on your... umm... ponies don't have toes so... hooves? Find out what happened to the Mane 6 and stop this evil curse!
Tails of Equestria is a bit different than the other RPGs we usually feature here on TGN. As such, while most of us are pretty sure in adventure-writing for our games, it might take a bit of fiddling to figure out how to make one for Tails. River Horse is helping out by posting a mini-adventure, for free, on their site. We'll be getting more adventures like these in the upcoming dice sets that are going to be released next month, too.

Many of my friends have young kids who are just getting to the age where they’ve started to show an interest in gaming. They see mom and dad playing their tabletop games and want to join in. Several of those kids are also huge fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Heck, my niece is obsessed with the show. There’s also plenty of older people out there who enjoy the show (heck, I admit that I’ve watched the whole series), and many of them are gamers. So, it seemed only natural for there to be a My Little Pony RPG. That comes in the form of Tails of Equestria.

The kind folks over at River Horse sent me a copy of the book (they’re true friends, for sure).

Grab your saddlebags and watch out for timberwolves, it’s time for another TGN Review. This time, it’s Tails of Equestria.

Well, I know some people who have been waiting for this since it's been announced. Today's the official release date for the Tails of Equestria Storytelling Game from River Horse, Shinobi 7, and Ninja Division. In it, players will create their own pony character, choosing between earth pony, pegasus, or unicorn. Head out on adventure, making sure that Equestria is safe and learning about the power of friendship along the way.

We're less than a month away from being able to take on Ursa Majors, Timberwolves, and Changelings (before they go good, of course). River Horse has announced March 14th as the official release date for the Tails of Equestria main rule book.

We've been having a small discussion about My Little Pony in the comments section. Mostly about whether or not the show is ubiquitous enough that people can just use the acronym "MLP" and have it be known what they are talking about. Whether you feel the show has gotten to that point or not, MLP might become more-seen in the gaming world, as River Horse will be bringing us the Tails of Equestria RPG in March. They've posted up a preview shot of some extra products they're working on to go along with the main book's release, as well as letting us know that at least one copy of the core rules have made it to their studio.

There's a big mash-up of companies working together in order to bring you a new, family-friendly RPG next year. River Horse (makers of Terminator Genisys, among others) has made a deal with Shinobi 7 (co-owned by Ninja Division and Seven Seas Publishing) to release the Tails of Equestria RPG (based on Hasbro's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) to North American audiences in March of next year. *whew* I did say there was a lot going on there.
