Looterz Board Game Now Available

It is fairly common knowledge that dragons like to hoard treasure in their caves. They’ll grab whatever they can and then stuff it into a hidden away spot, far from adventurers. Or, hopefully it’s far from adventurers. Well, one such cave has been found. Better yet, the dragon doesn’t seem to be home. So now’s a perfect time to rush in and grab some gold for yourself. However, you’re not the only one that’s noticed the dragon’s absence. The race is on to be the one that gets out with the most loot. That’s the story behind Looterz, a new board game available from CMON.

CMON to Publish Cthulhu in the House

One of the comics I’ve read for longer than pretty much any other is Dork Tower. I remember getting some compilation issue decades ago and carrying it around with me in my gaming backpack. I think it finally disintegrated a couple years back. So I love seeing when John Kovalic has a new game coming out. Such is the case with Cthulhu in the House, a game that CoolMiniOrNot will be publishing soon.

Final Day for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia Kickstarter

So it happens with these sorts of things, the Kickstarter campaign for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia is coming to an end. The campaign will end tomorrow at 7pm Eastern. So if you want to get in there and help retake the guild’s training grounds from the evil clutches of Malaphyas, you’d better act now.

Monster Dice Add-On Added To Masmorra Kickstarter

Well, if you’re going to have a dungeon, you’d better have it full of monsters. That’s what I’d think, anyway. And that’s what CoolMiniOrNot and Spaghetti Western think as well, as they’ve added a new Monsters Dice add-on to their Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia Kickstarter campaign.

New Add-Ons For Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia on Kickstarter

Watch It Played, for those that don’t know, is a YouTube channel that, well… it’s sort of right there in the name, but it’s a channel devoted to showing gamers how to play many of the great games that exist in our hobby. Rodney Smith has been running the channel for several years and many of his videos feature his son, Luke (who is known to just have “the touch” when it comes to getting dice to work in his favor). Well, Luke’s now getting his own figure for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia.

Adventurers Set Add-On Added to Masmorra Kickstarter

If you’re going to clean out the Masmorra dungeon and return to being a guild training ground, you’re going to need help. Well, now you can pick from several more heroes to go down there and deal with those monsters. A new Adventurers Set add-on has been… well… added on to the Masmorra Kickstarter campaign.

The Fire Dragon Slithers Into Arcadia Quest

Well, with all the other dragons that’ve been making their way into Arcadia Quest, it really was only a matter of time before the classic, fire-breathing variety made an appearance. And such is the case now, with the Fire Dragon Box Set Add-on that’s now part of the Inferno Kickstarter campaign.

Poison Dragon Eyeing Arcadia Quest Kickstarter

Well, it seems people were excited about the Whole Lotta Lava expansion box for the Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter campaign. New backers and extra pledges coming in bumped the campaign up and over the $1mil. mark. What does that mean? Well, it means there needs to be new stretch goals to bust down. *sniffsniff* I hope that’s just almonds I smell… as the new Poison Dragon looks to make its way to the campaign.

A Whole Lotta Lava Announced for Arcadia Quest: Inferno

Ok, yeah, I’ve got Christmas music playing right now, but what’s actually running through my head is Led Zepplin thanks to the title of this new expansion announced for Arcadia Quest: Inferno. Ignos, a new Minor Villain, is making (lava) waves in the Inferno, causing all sorts of trouble for the heroes. But his new box set is more than just a new figure to bring to the table.

Chaos Dragon Invades Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter

Chaos is descending upon the heroes of Arcadia Quest… literally… like in the form of a big damn dragon… a Chaos Dragon, to be specific. That’s right, not only is there a Frost Dragon to worry about in the land of Arcadia, there’s a Chaos Dragon as well, and you can add it to your collection as part of the Inferno Kickstarter.

Arcadia Quest Pets, A New Add-On For Now Available

It should probably come as no surprise to you that I’m an animal lover. Until three years ago, I’d always had pets around the house, going back to when I was just a little kid. At parties, I’m the one that’s over in the corner, talking to the dog or cat instead of interacting with the other people there. Well, now Arcadia Quest is bringing in pets to the game. It’s a full expansion that’s just been added to the Arcadia Quest Inferno Kickstarter campaign.

The Frost Dragon Chills out Arcadia Quest

All this heat!
Can’t we do anything to down this Inferno!
*gets hit with a freezing cold blast from the Frost Dragon*
… Thank you!
Yeah, this is one I’ve been anxious to talk about for a while. Arcadia Quest is getting itself a new super-boss monster in the form of the Frost Dragon expansion, now available as an add-on as part of the Inferno Kickstarter campaign.

Option Add-Ons Added to Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter

Well, that was quite a 24 hours for the start of the Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter campaign. The campaign funded in about 5min. It possibly would’ve been sooner, but Kickstarter stalled out briefly right at launch (seems that CMON Kickstarters have that sort of effect). This, of course, then meant that stretch goals were being broken even by the time the first actual update was posted. Well, now it’s time to go through some more as a whole bunch of add-ons have been added.

CoolMiniOrNot Launches Arcadia Quest: Inferno Kickstarter

Is it getting hot in here or is it just me?
Actually, things are heating up for every resident of Arcadia. Inferno is upon us. From CoolMiniOrNot and Spaghetti Western Games, the Kickstarter campaign for the new stand-alone expansion for Arcadia Quest has been launched. Head down into the burning caverns, collecting gear and rescuing Angels along the way to the very center of the world.

New Arcadia Quest Heroes Available From CoolMiniOrNot

Yeah, Arcadia Quest Inferno might be just around the corner, but that’s just the Kickstarter campaign (which you can read more about here). There’s gonna be months to wait after that for the figures to make it to your doorstep. In the meantime, though, CoolMiniOrNot has some new heroes to line the ranks of your guild.

Queen’s Necklace Release Date Announced

Shiny rocks.
It’s amazing how much of our history is based on people looking for shiny rocks and trading them back and forth. And let’s face it, we love wearing shiny rocks. We love looking at shiny rocks. Wars are fought over shiny rocks. From really, really big wars, to small wars on your tabletop. In Queen’s Necklace, you play as gem merchants looking to acquire the most wealth by trading your various shiny rocks in. But the price you’ll get for your shiny rocks varies depending on how rare they are and how fashionable they are.

TGN Exclusive: Queen’s Necklace Cards and Board Preview

Queen’s Necklace is making a comeback to gaming tabletops near you. Spaghetti Western Games and CMON are working hard to make sure this new version runs perfectly and looks great. To run right, they’ve updated the rules to make sure all clarifications and updates have been incorporated, even those originally only posted as digital FAQs.

To make sure it looks great, they’ve enlisted Denis Zilber to create the new card art. Denis is a highly regarded artist who has worked with such studios as Hasbro Animation, Dreamworks, and Nickelodeon. He’s also done artwork in books for publishers like Penguin Publishing, Scholastic Books, Hotkey Books, Sterling Children’s Books, and Clubhouse Jr. Even with such a busy schedule, he still finds time to travel the world, teaching and giving lectures on both animation and storytelling.

We’ve been given exclusive artwork to show off from the project. Check below the cut for a look at 6 of the new cards for the game, as well as the layout for the new game board.
You’ll be able to pick up a copy for yourself this coming September.

CoolMiniOrNot and Spaghetti Western Games to Publish Queen’s Necklace

CMON and Spaghetti Western are teaming up to re-release the Queen’s Necklace card game. Originally released by Days of Wonder, Queen’s Necklace is a bluffing and set collecting game where players are trying to collect gems to create the greatest piece of jewelry to appease the French Queen. But watch out, as the King can block gems from being used. CMON and Spaghetti Western will be adding all-new artwork to the cards, as well as updating the rules to integrate various changes and FAQ clarifications from previous editions of the game. Expect to see the game this September.

More Events Added for CMON Expo 2015

CMON Expo continues to grow. They’ve added another trio of events for this upcoming year. (I know, because I put them there)
First off is a fan favorite, Frankenfest. Modelers work all weekend making whatever they can with a plethora of random bits. It’s great fun and I can’t wait to see what people create this year.
Next is the Kaos Ball Cup. The winner of this convention-long event will be crowned the Kaos Ball Champion and get the Koas Ball Cup trophy.
Finally is the Sedition Wars: Why Can’t it go Smooth event. 6 players must try and race out of a doomed space station before… well… you don’t want to miss the flight, let me tell you.
Check them all out on the CMON Expo website.

If you want in on this new and exciting board game (I’ve tried it. You’ll like it), better go now.

From the campaign:

The King of Thieves and Queen of Beggars are now unlocked!

Go forth and spread the word! Only with a tumultuous cacophony (of backers) will Chooloo awake!

Animals! Animals! They go ’round and ’round!

Arcadia Quest is showing off some new stretch goals and optional add-ons in their latest post.

From the update:

It looks like $500k is right around the corner! So let’s take a look at what we have coming up for our backers! At $550K we have a new dynamic duo, a Kickstarter exclusive Hero set! The sovereigns of the simians, the emperors of the apes, it’s the Monkey King and Monkey Queen!

Arcadia Quest Rulebook posted

Arcadia Quest posted up the current rulebook for the game over on their Kickstarter page. Read it for yourself and feel free to leave feedback.

From the update:

Here is the rules draft as they stand today – it’s still being edited for language, diagram clarity and contents. Note internal components do not reflect the stretch goals. Have a look!

Arcadia Quest stretches out Beyond the Grave

Arcadia Quest has announced the first expansion for their game. It’s called Beyond the Grave.

From the update:

Nobody paid much attention when Dr. Spider was expelled from Arcadia University for excessive experiments into Necromancy. Even Lord Fang ignored him after taking over the city, and the bad Doctor pillaged the cemeteries and mausoleums of Arcadia for test subjects. Obsessed with his experiments, Dr. Spider retreated to his secret lab and worked long hours to tease the secret of immortality from the universe, and to prove, once and for all, that he should have fame, fortune, and (most importantly) tenure! The accidental revivification of the Dread King to his mortal form was merely a side effect! Nothing to worry about. … Well, nothing for Dr. Spider to worry about. That’s what heroes are for, right?

Final day for Kaosball on Kickstarter

Kaosball is in their final 24 hours over on Kickstarter. If you’ve been waiting until the last minute, that time has pretty much come.

From the campaign:

Wow, it looks like Rumblefist will be rumbling your opponents, as we head into the last day! It’s looking pretty good for the Barbarians too! We’ve still got M.A.Z.E. to introduce to you though…

Kaosball passes $200k, unlocks Kutulu, previews Gojira and new teams

Kaosball has passed the $200k mark on Kickstarter and therefore unlocked the Kutulu ringer for the game. They’re showing off the next upcoming ringer, Gojira, as well as some new teams.

From the update:

Gojira has chased Mr Awesome all the way from distant shores! It doesn’t help to be speedy if there’s no where to go…. time to face the terrible might of Gojira!

Kaosball previews more teams, ringers, add-ons on Kickstarter

Kaosball has made it over $150k and has unlocked the Zombie team for free for all backers. They’ve also added more stretch goal previews, as well as greens as well as a new add-on for just the field and accessories as well as new ringers… They’ve been busy.

From the update:

As requested by some backers, we’re making the internal components sans teams, coaches and rulebook available so you can play 2 games at once without duplicating teams. We don’t expect to sell many of these through traditional channels, so the price is a little higher than we’d like but hopefully it’ll fit your needs if you so desire to have a “league night”. website launches, posts stats for teams and ringers

Kaosball now has their own, official website. They’ve posted up team cards for most of the teams known so far, as well as most of the ringer models as well.

From the launch:

“All right, listen up. People say Kaosball is a community, it’s a way of life, it’s the world in miniature played out on the crossfield. It’s all that and more. You find yourself in a team that plays the game the same way you would live your life if you had no limits and no fear.

But to find that team, you have to know why they play the way they play. And to know that, you’ve got to know the game.”

– Hardman Jury, “Monday Night Kaosball”
