Shadows of Brimstone

Flying Frog Productions is looking to get you a pair of new Shadows of Brimstone adventures, and they're taking to Kickstarter to get them funded. First, become a guardian of Asgard in Gates of Valhalla. Then, trek through a dark and dangrous swamp in Valley of the Serpent Kings.

When Shadows of Brimstone first came out, it was all about the Weird West where you'd head down into a mine in search of the monsters that'd been coming out. It's since branched out, with those tunnels leading to strange and fantastic worlds. The next tunnel you go down doesn't lead to a world, though. It leads you off-world, with Derelict Ship OtherWorld. Pre-orders are being taken now.
It's time once more for a Review Roundup. Why? Because it's Saturday! Woo!
As you read this, I'm hanging out with some friends, playing games. Took over a group of favorites, and hopefully will get me a new Guild Ball opponent, too. I also baked brownies, because I can't go to a friend's place empty-handed. Hopefully you're doing something similar, be it at a friend's place, your garage, or your LGS.
But anyway, I know you're really here for those reviews.

Today we have: Legends Untold, Mage Wars Academy: Warlock & Priestess Expansions Review, Aggressor: Recon, Shadows of Brimstone, Tambuzi, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle, Kill Doctor Lucky: Deluxe 19.5th Anniversary Edition, Tanks: Panther vs Sherman, Junk Art, Roll Player, and Potion Explosion.

The wild west isn't the only place where strange, otherworldly terrors are encroaching into the everyday world. It seems as though Japan is also rife with terrible monsters such as Oni, Tengu, and the dreaded Harionago. To keep the world safe, you must lead your heroes into the depths of the temple in order to defeat these creatures before they unleash terror upon the world. That's the story, at least, in the new Shadows of Brimstone set, called Forbidden Fortress, that's up on Kickstarter now.
Many people have time off around this part of the year. What better time to grab your paintbrushes and maybe win some prizes for doing so? Well, that's what Flying Frog Productions is hoping you'll do, anyway. They're running a Shadows of Brimstone painting contest over on their website.
Everyone likes to get free, bonus stuff. Many game companies offer exclusive promo pieces if you order right from them. Warlord Games is well-known for it. Flying Frog also does it quite a bit. They're currently taking pre-orders for their Caverns of Cynder expansion for Shadows of Brimstone. And if you order from them directly, you can get a pair of promo cards.
Gen Con is long gone, but the ripples from it still remain. At the show, many companies will have pre-production or preview versions of figures they'll be coming out with soon. Flying Frog was one such company. They had bunches of new Shadows of Brimstone minis available. And while a ton of them were snatched up by anxious gamers, there were some left over after the show. Now you can get them over in the Flying Frog webshop.
There's a lot of board games coming out lately that have some very pretty miniatures with them (recently being the last couple years, mind you). Many people just leave the figures in the colored plastic they come in. But others really want the board game to look as good as a miniatures game. So they take a lot of time and effort painting them up. Well, Flying Frog Productions wants to award those that take this extra step. They're having themselves a painting contest at Gen Con for their Shadows of Brimstone game.
Flying Frog Productions will be bringing advance copies of their new board game, Shadows of Brimstone, with them to GenCon.
