Are you not entertained!? I know I am by the miniatures that Red Republic Games releases for Arena Rex. A bit of editorializing: I think they're some of the highest-quality figures out there. Their modelling is masterful. And they've got two new ones available for you. Cato and Ladon comprise the newest faction for the game. You can order them now.
From the announcement:
Cato and Ladon now available at ArenaRex.com. Our third sub-faction is in the wild!

Saturday and I have all the baking to do. Baking for friends. Baking for coworkers. Baking for friends that are coworkers. Baking for coworkers that are friends. I mean, I bought 4 pounds of unsalted butter. I'm going to be busy today. But before I get up to my elbows in cookie dough, I need to type up those review articles I know you all so desperately desire.
Today we have: Arena Rex, Seikatsu, New York Slice, Dragonfire, Sid Meier's Civilization: A New Dawn, Macroscope, Kingdomino, and 1750: Britain vs. France.
In this video I will teach you how to play including: Components, Setup, player turns, and the breakdown of actions and reactions. I will also give you my thoughts and opinions on the game, and would love to hear yours
In this video I will teach you how to play including: Setup, player turn sequence, end game, and scoring. I will also give you my thoughts and opinions on the game, and would love to hear yours.
It’s hard to resist a good pizza and it’s even tougher to resist a good game about pizza. New York Slice from Bézier Games lets players slice their way to victory by collecting sets of pizza slices. In this video review, Ric and Ryan talk about how the game plays and discuss why this might be a great fit for your family game shelf.
Players choose an adventure to start the game. An adventure takes place over multiple scenes and describes how to set up the game, including setting up the encounters (monsters and/or locations that the players must defeat).
If you’re familiar with BHH and the Baldur’s Gate video game then the BBG theme will be nothing new. The shadow of Bhaal falls over Baldur’s gate and adventurers set-out to defeat the evil, but one may be a traitor.
I think most gamers have played BHH at least once and should be familiar with the rules so I’m going to do an overview and focus on the changes. Here’s the PDF of the rules if you want to see for yourself.
The main mechanism that diverts Civ: A New Dawn from its forebears is the Focus Row. Five action cards occupy five numbered slots (1-5) in front of each player. On their turn, a player will select a card to activate with the card’s action modified either by the number of the slot or by the terrain type associated with the slot. For example, activating a Science card yields 1 to 5 points of advances in technology. Activating an Economy card allows a player to move a trade caravan as long as they are of certain terrain types that match the action card’s slot or lower.
The main component of the game is the Macroscope which acts as both the cardholder and imagine cover. On top are removable tokens that players will remove a few at a time to give you a peek at the image. The game offers two distinct ways to play.
In Kingdomino, you are a Lord seeking new lands in which to expand your kingdom. You must explore all the lands, wheat fields, lakes, and mountains in order to spot the best plots. But be careful as some other Lords also covet these lands…
Dominoes with a kingdom building twist. Each turn, connect a new domino to your existing kingdom, making sure at least one of its sides connects to a matching terrain type already in play. The game mechanics for obtaining the tiles is clever: the order of who picks first depends on which tile was previously chosen. Make sure to secure tiles with crowns- these royal treasures help to multiply the worth of your kingdom at the end of the game! The game ends when each player has completed a 5×5 grid, and then points are counted based on number of connecting tiles and crowns.
1750: Britain vs. France adopts one of the years between two of those global conflagrations. Two players guide the political, economic and military fortunes of the titular empires vying for influence over other European powers and military control of colonial possessions.
Quite abstractly. Because the whole affair is conducted by cards – from the board to your units to resources and events. Thusly splayed about your table, you direct your affairs as if combing over maps and documents, feeling very much the strategist in an age when warfare was far more neat and gentlemanly, without sacrificing any of its grandeur. Except instead of through gunpowder, sails, courtesans and treaties you’ll employ equal measures set collection, card combat and area control.

The gladiator pits are equal-opportunity. Man, woman, beast, all can take to the pits and fight for supremacy. Iocasta left her whole tribe and their way of life in pursuit of something more. What she found was joy in hearing her name shouted while she fights in the arenas. Now, you can add her to your collection for Arena Rex.
From the release:
The tradition of ghata’sar is long recognized by the Sandborn tribes, allowing those who clash regularly with the traditions of their nomadic lifestyle or their tribe’s leadership to leave behind their names and perhaps find peace elsewhere in the world. Iocasta’s self-exile lead her to take up not only a Roman name but possibly the most Roman lifestyle she could find. Styling herself the new queen of Thebes, she luxuriates in both the thrill of sands and the urbane trappings of a well-paid exhibitionary auxiliary to the Morituri. Nothing brings her greater joy than hearing the crowds chant the name she chose while she dominates her opponents with ferocious and precise strikes.
Iocasta is a Morituri gladiator.
Sculpture credit belongs to Benoit Cauchies, illustration by Yasmine Putri. Painted by Benjamin Williams.
The resin Iocasta miniature is supplied unassembled alongside a plastic 30mm Arena Rex base, activation token, art card, and game card.

It feels like a short week, but it's certainly been a busy week. Yesterday, got pulled aside for a vital project before the A Song of Ice and Fire Miniatures Game Kickstarter launches later this month. That was a cool couple of hours. But yeah, just been busy all-around. Ready for that weekend! Gonna be making some dark-chocolate-orange confections (cookies, candy sticks, and candied orange peel) over the weekend. ... Might make some gumbo, too. Haven't gotten that far ahead. But when making that stuff, I should fill up on some bite-size gaming stories, so I don't eat all the cookie dough or something.
Today on the platter we have: Red Republic Games Previews Special Arena Rex Dice, Everlasting Wet Palette Coming To Kickstarter, The Board Game Table Mat by Tabletop Companion Now Available, Final Day for DeepWars Kickstarter Campaign, dice.run Dice Rolling Tool Up Online, and Brigade Models release 6mm Combat Cars.
Here's a look at our organized play favor dice for 2017. Playing in our gencon event? Perform impressive feats in the arena and you'll be rewarded with these beauties.
Later this year we'll be releasing an oft-requested prize support package for organized play events around the world. These dice will be part of that package and will be altered every year so you can track your career in the arena.
EverlastingWetPalette is the first wet palette for miniature painting designed for enthusiastic and pro-painters.
You buy the best brushes, the best paints and the best miniatures, but when it comes to the wet palette itself, you have to use kitchen parchment paper or wax paper on a plate.
That's why, we have developed a multi-layer polymeric membrane fully reusable. It will bring you the best hydration and it will last. YOU WON'T NEED ANY REFILLS !
Are you tired of constantly having to adjust modular game tiles as they shift during game play? Now you don’t have to. In addition to a traditional felted surface, the Board Game Mat can be flipped over and used as a nonslip gaming surface that holds tiles in place so you can focus on playing. Get the Complete Game Mat Set to create a nonslip area for board game tiles surrounded by a felted gaming area for organizing cards and other game pieces.
The Kickstarter project for DeepWars - Hunters of the Abyss is reaching the finish line, having funded a highly detailed submarine model and many other new miniatures for DeepWars like the vicious Sea Troll, Sea Dog Corsair and Ginny Greenteeth, the Sea Hag. The campaign is progressing through stretch goals and reaching for some that are just out of reach. Come pledge for this project to help unlock the new models, like the Sea Wraith submarine for the Ancients of Atalán, the wild and deadly Deepstar Kraken and possibly even the massive Coelomech bio-sub for the Dark Mariners.
If you've ever been curious about the relationship between dice and the chance of an outcome, dice.run is worth checking out. Not only does it handle the probability breakdown of any dice expression, but it also conveniently includes the chance of `at least` some value and `at most` some value. For example, the classic D&D method of 4d6 drop lowest 1, has an 89.5% chance of at least a 9, with an exact chance of a 9 of 7%. dice.run also supports exploding (rolling again and adding) or re-rolling which can really change the shape of the curves dramatically. Check it out to better understand how the dice effect the games we love.
Today we’re releasing two new vehicles for our 6mm Mercenary Brigade force, bringing the small-scale range into line with their 15mm counterparts.
The first is the Mantra Cavalry Vehicle. Based on the drive train of the Shaman tank, this is an open-topped fast recce vehicle which dispenses huge amounts of firepower from the three crew-served gatlings in the rear compartment. The gunners are protected from shrapnel by an overhead splinter screen. The Shinigami is the Mantra’s predecessor, essentially an extended jeep with two gatlings in the unprotected rear deck.
Both models are metal castings with separate guns. The Mantra’s splinter screen is an etched-brass piece – it just needs to be cut out of its frame and the legs bent downwards 90°, which then pop into position on the chassis with a drop of superglue. Both models are available individually or in a Recce Troop pack containing six of each model along with a pair of Wizard jeeps.

Last month, Red Republic Games made their second ever trip to Adepticon. Their booth was insanely popular, yet again, as people swarmed it, looking to get their Arena Rex goodies. One of those goodies included Leika, a new fighter. Well, those of us that couldn't make it to the show can now pick up our own. She's available over in the company's webshop.
From the website:
Many describe the munera as cruel but beautiful sport – a world more than befitting Leika’s temperament. Known for a beauty matched only by her vanity and contempt for the well-being of others, Leika often spends her nights in feast-halls carousing. Her mocking of suitors and boasters alike ensures that more of her winnings are spent on repairs for the halls than on meat and mead. Despite all this, she seems always to emerge unscathed and fresh for even early morning sparring.
Leika is a Zephyri gladiator.

The resin Leika miniature is supplied unassembled alongside a plastic 30mm Arena Rex base, activation token, art card, and game card.

I'm just gonna say this. Patrick Masson is one hell of a sculptor. The new release from Red Republic Games for Arena Rex, Dextarius, looks just awesome. See for yourself. Dextarius, by the way, is the name of the horse. Ywain is the guy in the helmet and cape.
Dextarius (no word on an equine lab hidden underneath the arena) was a gift to Ywain. You'd think that'd be something to be proud of, but really it was a symbol that Ywain was just a showpiece in the Empire to be used as politicians like. Dextarius might not be as fast or agile as other horses, he makes up for it in bulk and smarts. Add on a bunch of armor, and you've got the equivalent of a tank that you're bringing to a sword fight.
You can pick up your Dexterius and Ywain now over in the Arena Rex webshop.

So, we had a couple board game sales launch. We also had a couple terrain sales going on. But what about miniatures games, themselves? Well, the folks at Red Republic Games have you covered there. They've started their Saturnalia Sale over in their webshop.
Want to get some of their (exceedingly beautifully sculpted) miniatures for cheaper than usual? Head over there now and you can get 15% off your order. It's a Saturnalia miracle!

Being labeled a bastard is generally a death sentence for anyone with true ambition. However, Ywain has used his privileges as the son of a well-loved courtesan to gain training and equipment that most people could never afford. Now, he fights in the arena in order to make a true name for himself and to prove that bastards can be badass.
Ywain is a Legio XIII gladiator. The artwork for him was done by Yasmine Putri. Mini sculpture was done by Patrick Masson. You can pick up yours in the Arena Rex store now.

The attendees of Gen Con often get a chance to pick up minis before they're available to the general public. Such was the case with those that stopped by the Red Republic Games booth, as they could get themselves Valen, as well as the new gaming mat. Fret no longer, those that couldn't get to the show (and didn't get a ninja shopper). Both are now available in the Arena Rex webshop.
Valen will work for Legio XIII. His figure comes with two different heads, as you can see. So whether you want him with or without helmet, you've got that option. As for the mat, it's on mousepad material (aka, it's neoprene-backed) and can be rolled up for easy storage. It's a great way to make sure you've got the right sized space for your games.

It was really cool getting to catch up once more with the guys from Red Republic Games while at Gen Con. It was their first year at the show and their booth was always loaded with people looking to get the latest and greatest. It was agreed, from several other people I talked with, that the figures for Arena Rex were some of the best at the show. And now they've added two more figures to their line. Check out Hroka and Cao-Ta.
The folks at Red Republic have been wanting to get these figures out for a while now. But they're not about to release any mini before they feel it's just right. And, looking over these two, they are just right. You can pick them up now and add to your Zephyri forces.

Hey Everyone!
It's really hard to believe the first day of Gen Con's already over and I'm here getting prepped for Day 2! It was such a whirlwind, I didn't get a chance to make this post last night. But don't worry, I'll be sure to get plenty more pictures today and get 'em up this evening for you. Remember, follow the TGN Facebook page to get these as they're posted if you simply cannot wait to see what's going on here at the show.
Red Republic Games (makers of Arena Rex) are at Gen Con for the very first time. Their booth, just like at Adepticon, was always busy. And in their painting case, some figures that they didn't have done before.

The last convention I attended was Adepticon. It was a great time. One booth that was constantly swamped with people was the Red Republic Games booth. People were waiting in line to get their Arena Rex miniatures. Now Red Republic will be at Gen Con, and they've got some cool, new stuff they've brought with them.
So, what sort of things can you find in booth 3057? Well, there will be demos of Arena Rex, of course. There will also be exclusive dice (you can never have enough dice), new game mats, and several prerelease minis. There's Valen, as you see above. The other is a Legio XIII gladiator. Releasing next month, but available at the show will also be Hroka and Caho-Ta. The guys at the booth will be releasing a couple each day, so make sure you stop by early to make sure you get yours.

One of the biggest hits at Adepticon this year was Red Republic Games and Arena Rex. The gallery I had of their display case was, by far, the one most liked, commented on, and shared (it's here in case you missed it). They pretty much sold out of everything they had. Granted, this is one time where "going home empty handed" is a good thing. Well, they'd had Khepros available as a pre-release at the show. If you weren't able to pick one up there, or weren't at the show to begin with, you can now get your own, as he's available for general release over in their webshop.
Khepros lived a life of luxury, being a scion of the Ptolemies. But this idle time turned into time studying. This would lead him to the teachings of Pythagoras. His family didn't take too kindly to that, and has been shunned by his family ever since. Now he fights in the arenas in order to hopefully redeem himself in the eyes of his family.

Man! Today sure has been busy! I've gotten a bunch of photos taken. I've talked to a lot of really cool people. I've gotten a demo of a brand new game (demo report forthcoming). And I've had Portillo's. Can't get any better than that, really. So if you've not been following the coverage over on the TGN Facebook Page, here's what you've been missing:

One of the best things about conventions is usually the companies will have special convention pricing for items. Well, what if you can't make it to the show? A lot of companies will run sales online during the show as well. Red Republic Games is doing just that this weekend.
For the duration of Adepticon (that's until Sunday, in case you didn't know), you can get 15% off your order either by walking up to their booth at the show or in their online store.

Yeehaw! Get on there, little dogie! Hup! Hup! Hey there, pardners, it's time once more for a Review Roundup. So let's get this rodeo on the road!
Today we have: Super Dungeon Explore: Forgotten King, Mage Knight, Lil' Cthulhu, Fleet Wharfside, Patchwork App, Techno Bowl, Rubicon's Opel Blitz, Arena Rex, Black Hat, Captain's Wager, T.I.M.E Stories: A Prophecy of Dragons, Quadropolis, Orphan Black, City of Spies, and Empires: Age of Discovery.
Li’l Cthulhu is a press-your-luck game for 2 to 5 players, ages 6 and up, and takes about 30 minutes to play. It is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, with a $25 pledge for a copy of the game (or $30 for the game plus a bonus expansion). Note to parents: although the game is about Lovecraftian horrors, it’s all done in a funny, cute way, so there’s nothing too terrifying for younger players. Except Li’l Cthulhu’s diaper. I don’t even want to think about that.
A look at the upcoming Techno Bowl from Bombshell Games.
Brent Spivey at the moment is an unknown name in the board game world. He's designed several excellent miniature game rule-sets including Havoc: Tactical Miniature Warfare, The Battlefield, and Rogue Planet. When I heard he was entering the board game world my eyebrows arched skyward like my 75 pound horse of a dog hearing the word "walk". When I discovered it was an 8-bit American Football game I was left dumbfounded, like my 75 pound horse of a dog trying to apply the Pythagorean Theorem to an obtuse triangle.
In this first of a series of reviews of Rubicon Models' 28mm (1/56th scale) World War 2 plastic vehicles kits, I take a look at the ubiquitous Opel Blitz truck.
As always this in-depth review contains large sprue pictures, the historical background, my experiences building and painting the model followed by a summary of my opinions on the kit.
I've spent the last few months working those pectorals and drenching myself in olive oil. Why? So that I can now sit shirtless at my computer for a proper review of Arena Rex.
But what IS Arena Rex? It's an excellent miniatures game of gladiator combat in a semi-mythological classical world, where your tiny team of just 3-5 fighters square off with their foes in a battle TO THE DEATH! Or, at least, to the filling of the last wound box and the removing of the little resin figure.
Black Hat pits players against each other as hackers infiltrating a network, hopefully without leaving a trace of their transgressions. With a hand of cards essentially representing your hacking skills, you and others vie to win tricks in order to root into the network’s path laid out along the board. Spaces represent accounts, assets and cyber traps worth varying points, so some are better than others. While there is a final critical asset space triggering the endgame, its occupant doesn’t always signify the winner. Instead, whoever leaves the least evidence of their presence by occupying low-key spots and dumping high skill hacking cards will prove the ultimate black hat.
I used to really enjoy playing card games of chance like Poker. There was no better feeling when you won the pot with a great hand or bluff. It’s harder now to find the time to get friends together to play given everyone’s schedules and “adult” responsibilities. So when I was offered the chance to play and review, Captain’s Wager, a hand management card game of chance from Grey Fox Games, I pounced on it. Does Captain’s Wager stand up to other games from my past or should you pass? Read on!
Captain’s Wager is a hand management card game for 2-5 players and plays between 25–30 minutes. Captain’s Wager plays best with 4-5 players.
A Prophecy of Dragons is the second expansion, and therefore third adventure module for T.I.M.E Stories, and while T.I.M.E Stories remains one of my favourite games of 2015 and one of the best cooperative game experiences to date, A Prophecy of Dragons is by far the worst adventure for the system and its approach to rules and story threaten to undo all the great work accomplished by Asylum and The Marcy Case.
I will try and keep this review as spoiler free as possible; however some mild spoilers will come out in the discussion.

A new gladiator has entered the arena. And he'll be laughing all the way to the winner's circle. Or, at least, his companion will be. Anum has been released for Arena Rex by Red Republic Games.
Anum is part of the Mrituri faction. However, he's also a part of his own sub-faction. As one could expect from the fact that he's got a hyena with him, Anum is good with animals. As such, you can take him as the only non-beast figure in your team. He even gets a unique set of tactics and abilities of you do so. Think "crazy cat lady" but with wild bulls and hyenas and other such like that.

Gamers are sort of known, stereotypically, for never really going anywhere. We're supposedly the type to stay in basements, only to come out to slink our way in the darkness to the LGS and then back again. Occasionally we go to a convention. But the reality is that gamers are just like other people. Some love to travel and see the world. Many of us are history buffs of some form or another. Well, Geek Nation Tours is here for those types of gamers with a pair of new tours they're doing.
The first I'll mention is one I wish I could go on. How would you like to go visit the sights in Sparta and Ancient Greece (not, like, time-traveling or anything like that. But just how things look now)? I know it's something I'd like to do. Along with seeing the various sights, you'd also get to hang out with the Red Republic Games fellas and play some Arena Rex.
For those that would like something a bit more recent, historically-speaking, there's the Little Big Horn tour. Go out west and learn about a rather dark spot in American history. Along the way, chat with the guys from Outlaw Miniatures and play some Wild West Exodus.
Both the tours have days and days worth of things happening in them, so be sure to check out the pages for further details and booking information.

Red Republic Games recently gave you the chance to download their rulebook for free from their website (and you can still go do that, if you want). Well, now they're giving you an opportunity to pick up their minis for cheaper than usual with their Saturnalia Sale.
It's pretty simple. 25% off everything, store-wide. So you've got the rules and you can now build your gladiator team. The sale won't last long, though, so you'd better get in there and get your figures.

Gamers today have to be thrifty with their time and money. I'd love to be able to just buy up every rules set I find, but it's just not feasible. So I like to get a look at a rules set, if possible, before I spend money on a game that I might not end up liking. Thankfully, various game companies have started putting their rules up online for people to try out. I like that. It shows trust in their product. "Look, we think we have an awesome game that you're gonna want to play. Read the rules for yourself." is what they're saying. Well, you can add Red Republic Games to the list of companies, as they've posted their rules for Arena Rex online for you to download for free.
The rules are currently available in both Spanish and English, with more translations coming. So, if you've been drooling over those awesome figures that they make (like I have been), but have been hesitant to get them, concerned over whether you'll like the rules or not, now you can check those out for yourself and decide.

We have made it to Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Rejoice! And, like, go eat some candy or something because of Halloween. Have yourself a good time.
Speaking of bite-size items such as those "fun" size candies (never did quite figure out what was so "fun" about them, but there we are, then), we have our usual platter of stories for you. These, however, know exactly why they're fun.
In this batch we have: Free 15mm personality figure: Gaius Marius in Baueda Indiegogo Campaign, Final Day for Anarchy Models HD Stencils Wave 2 Kickstarter, The Prang by Eli Arndt moving to The Ion Age soon, Arena Rex Faction Dice Now Available, New Modern Adventurers & Mercs From Warhansa, and Plaid Hat Games Posts Halloween Downloadable Content for Mice & Mystics.
A great victory, Senator! Thanks to you the most dramatic and influential changes have been made to the Roman army! Until this time, the standard requirements to become a Roman soldier were very strict. To be considered a soldier in the service of the republic, an individual was required to provide his own arms and uniform for combat. With your help we now relaxed the recruitment policies by removing the necessity to own land, and allowed all Roman citizens entry, regardless of social class. The benefits to the army will be numerous, with the unemployed masses enlisting for military service alongside the more fortunate citizens. Poorer citizens will now be drawn to lifelong service, as they will be rewarded with the prospect of settlement in conquered land. This also will 'Romanize' the population in newly subjugated provinces, thus reducing unrest and lowering the chance of revolt against the Roman Republic. The new Roman army, its numbers vastly bolstered by lower class citizens whose future is now tied to their permanent career, will always be able to provide reserves in times of disaster. To celebrate this achievement every backer will now receive one free extra personality figure: Gaius Marius!
In addition we are now organizing a great military expedition, but the Senate appears to be divided: should we first put an end to the war in Numidia with Jugurtha, settle the matters in the East where Mithridates is expanding his kingdom at the expense of our allies, or march an army to Spain or Cisalpine Gaul, where the report of migrating Germanic tribes is causing unrest among the resident Celtic tribes recently conquered? It is up to you to decide:, contribute and cast your vote now! If you done that already then it is now time to go out in the forum, find some new Senator and win him to your cause!
At the time of writing the situation is this: Cisalpine Gaul: 8 votes Spain: 6 votes Numidia: 6 votes East: 3 votes
please remember that only votes cast by selecting the corresponding perk are counted. Preferences expressed in any other way by supporters who have chosen other perks will be taken into account only in the case of a tie.
Go rally your followers now Senator, we won a great battle but there is still much work left to do to win the war!
Thanks to our wonderful backers last year, our campaign for wave 1 of the HS Stencil System was a great success, and they have proved very popular since too.
We always get asked by our customers/fans if we can add this or that to the range. In particular, many of you wanted more Creature Feature designs, as the Mottled is VERY popular and you also wanted some smaller scale grids.
So we have come back to Kickstarter again this year to add some of the most asked for designs to the range, as well as some others, funding/time permitting.
The Prang by Eli Arndt has long been one of the favorites in 15mm.co.uk's SHM line of figures. The SHM line is unique in that it gives aspiring designers a leg up into putting the miniature sculpts into production. Since it's inception SHM has helped more than a dozen traditional and digital sculptors go into production.

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce three Maneuver Dial Upgrade Kits for X-Wing™!
X-Wing is a two-player miniatures game that invites you to enter the Star Wars universe and pilot iconic starships in tense, breakneck battles of skill and daring. The first player to destroy his opponent’s squad is the victor, and a vast assortment of ships and upgrades gives you the ability to infinitely customize your squadron.
In every game of X-Wing, you and your opponent secretly plot your ships’ movements using cardboard maneuver dials and maneuver templates. Now, you can command your starfighters with greater aplomb and further customize the aesthetics of your squadron by situating each ship’s maneuver dial within a secure and stylish plastic housing!

The dragon is 70mm tall (including the plinth) and the queen is 30mm scale. We received the first 50 units and they are flawless! thanks to our new Italian resin factory :)
This set of downloadable Cardstock CharactersTM miniatures contains three variations on five different figures, a Champion, Infantryman, Archer, Cavalryman, and War Dog. They are the ideal addition to any sort of tabletop fantasy RPG or wargame and can be used to enhance encounters or even serve as the basis for them. The different variations can also be used to easily reflect different levels and capabilities and they have been given colors that can also make them especially suitable as royal or imperial guards. One of the factions also has plain shields that can easily be customized if desired.
These miniatures were designed specifically for both the tabletop and video versions of the H.G. Wells' Little Orc Wars miniatures game. We hope you and your players will enjoy battling with them!

This week has been a complete whirlwind! I had no idea how much time, sweat, lack of sleep, and emotional ups and downs went with launching a Kickstarter campaign. Before I joined the Atheris Games team, I had heard of Kickstarter and had wasted multiple hours looking at cool prototypes, but I had never even paid attention to some of the intricacies of a well done campaign. When most people hear about a company on Kickstarter, they think someone just came up with a cool idea and now they want MY money to help it become a reality. Well, that’s somewhat true. :) I don’t think that most people realize that with Kickstarter you are either all in or nothing at all. If you don’t completely meet your funding goal, you get nothing. Absolutely nothing.
We are incredibly fortune to have funded and to do so in at an incredible pace!
We launched on Thursday night at 8:30pm. I’m going to let you in on a little secret, we were working on the campaign page right up until we launched it. I’m pretty sure the video was added right at 8:30pm! Andrew and Chuck were at the Startup Hour Gainesville announcing the launch and mingling with potential backers. I was getting the social media posts ready to announce that we were going live, launching the Kickstarter campaign, and also testing to make sure the links worked. Barry was finalizing the video, and Allan and Sebastian were working on graphics/illustrations for the game. No one was sitting back and enjoying the moment (sadly). But, that’s what you have to realize when you launch a campaign, it’s a lot of hard work and it is a real team effort.
Within one hour, we raised $5,515. Incredible! Within 52 hours, we raised $10,000. As I write this post, we have amassed $12,191 with 24 long days ahead!
So, here is what you have missed behind the scenes:
Attending gaming conferences Answering emails Creating, posting, and responding to social media content Holding t-shirt giveaways Developing stretch goals Getting quotes from manufacturers Getting previews of more artwork (we promise to share some soon) Reaching out to the press and bloggers Going to gaming stores and setting up test play events Getting interviewed by the press and…. obsessively checking our pledging and backer stats!
