RapierCon will be coming to Jacksonville this June. The show has two themes this year: the 200th anniversary of Waterloo as well as the 80th anniversary of the Captain Blood movie (an interesting pair, but it works). The convention will be June 12th-14th. So if you're in the area, might just want to stop by.

Rapier "The Friendly Little Gaming Convention" will be held this year from June 12th - June 14th, 2015.
We gladly welcome any board, miniatures, and role playing games. Now is the time to start submitting games so that we can get them posted on the Game Schedule. Head to the Game Submissions page and fill out the form.
Rapier always has a double theme, and this year our themes are in reference to two anniverseries, the 200th of the Battle of Waterloo and the 80th of the release of the movie Captain Blood. So if your game is about Napoleonics or Pirates, it will be designated as a theme game.
There are a number of changes in the convention this year. Rapier will have a 9:00 am start on Friday, June 12, 2015 with the doors opening at 8:00 am. This will allow even more time for gaming. A major change in the convention is that boardgaming is moving to the Main Ballroom on the first floor. This will provide us with plenty of space for open gaming, and Mike Jones, Neil Edge, and Chip Coffey will be bringing in a large number of games from their personal libraries for all to enjoy.
There will be plenty of room for miniatures, and we will be running Flames of War and Warhammer 40K tournaments. Seekrieg will be be in the same room as last year, and Tombstone Frank and the RPGers will be in their same suite as well.
We will also have the usual Pre-Registration Incentives, Rapier T-Shirts, the Rapier Raffle, Flea Market, and our wonderful Dealers Area. Remember, we are always looking for donations for the raffle.
Doubletree by Hilton at the Jacksonville International Airport
We will be returning to a familiar location with a much different look. The Jacksonville Airport Hotel is now the Doubletree by Hilton with all the amazing standards that Hilton requires. The Doubletree Hotel has a full service restaurant and bar and a Starbucks in the Main Lobby. The guest rooms have been completely redone and, yes the air conditioning has been completely replaced. Every area of the hotel has received a major upgrade. You will like what you see. Ask for the Rapier room rate of $89.00 when you make your reservations.
