Polemos S.P.Q.R.Baccus have released their Polemos S.P.Q.R. rules. From their announcement:
After months of sweat, turmoil, curses, floods, freezes and despair, I can finally announce to the world that Polemos SPQR has now been officially released. This is the first of the Polemos series to cover Ancient warfare and devotes itself to the period 100BC to 200AD. As most ancient wargamers seem to define by themselves by either collecting the armies of Rome or those of its many opponents it is a period that is close to many a gamer's heart. The rules themselves follow the standard Polemos format and uses randomised army generators rather than a points system and includes a couple of scenarios to get you going. No rebasing is required and you can play with any size of figure or base frontage. For more details just go to As with all of the Polemos rules, you can buy a full range of pre-packed armies and for those of you starting in the period there is a rather handy boxed starter set which includes rules, armies, bases, scenics and painting guides
Polemos S.P.Q.R. coverBaccus will soon be releasing their Polemos S.P.Q.R. rules. From their announcement:
I am delighted to say that the Polemos SPQR rules are now at the printers and that we are now taking advance orders. If you want to be the cool kid who gets their copy ahead of the crowd, there's a rather nifty little advance order system for you... Check out our website for more information about the rules themselves. We'll be supporting the rules with a full range of army packs, a boxed starter set and a new line of scenics. If all goes well I may have some copies for sale with me at Partizan this weekend, so it will be worth dropping by the stand the check. Staying with things Ancient, work on the rescultped Greek range is nearly completed. In anticipation of its release the existing range will be withdrawn from sale in one week's time. If you need to get those last figures to complete existing armies, then it's time to get your order in quickly.
Polemos S.P.Q.R.Baccus have posted details of their upcoming Polemos S.P.Q.R. rules. From their announcement:
Here's something that I think many of you had thought could be put in the same category as Unicorns, celibate premier league footballers and a decent pint of beer for less than two quid. I am happy to announce to the world that work on Polemos S.P.Q.R. (our first set of rules for the pre-gunpowder period) is all but complete, and that they will shortly be in the hands of the printers. If all goes well, and given my track record, the use of the word 'If' is very wise, they should be available by the beginning of September. At the same time we'll be releasing a full range of supporting army packs and boxed starter sets. I am aiming to have all of these available for the Partizan and Colours shows. However, before all this happens I am going to be taking a short holiday which means that I'll be spending from the 16th to the 25th of August away from the workshop and indulging in a bit of sand castle building rather than answering the phone, replying to emails, and sorting mail order out. Although the Igor will still be around to keep the place running, I am afraid that there will be a delay over this period in getting orders turned around. I can only apologise for the short notice, but can assure you that things will get back to normal (or some variant thereof) upon my return./em>
Baccus have posted new previews of figures in their 6mm Russian Napoleonic range as well as news of a storm-related delay affecting the releases of their Polemos Ancients rules.

Russian Generals

From their website:
What a busy busy few days it's been! As everyone is now picking up the pieces after various celebrations, here's some news that may well soon be knocking sundry royal weddings and terrorist demises off the headlines. Yes, we've released yet more Napoleonic Russians!

I know, I know. How much excitement can you take? I have to say that this is a range that seems to expand faster than we can get new figures released for it. This time around you get some rather fetching Generals and a very useful limber and team and spectacular only by their lack of photographs at the moment, Hussars wearing kiwers and everyone's favourite, the Pavlovski Grenadiers.
Baccus have posted an update on the status of their Polemos Ancients rules. From their website:
One item that will definitely not be appearing at Salute will be the Polemos Ancient rules. Sorry chaps, just too much to be done to hit a deadline. I'd rather take the time and get it all right. One thing that I have done in anticipation is to organise some army packs based on the lists in the rules. Several people have been asking about these as they want to get their armies organised and ready to go on advance of the release.
