North Star Military Figures

I legit chuckled out loud when I saw the name for this game. I don't know what about it tickles me so. But yes, Thud & Blunder, a new set of fantasy skirmish miniatures rules, are available to pre-order now. And there's a special deal where if you do pre-order, you'll get a 10% off coupon for a future purchase from the website. New rules and cheaper stuff later? Sounds good to me.

For Frostgrave, they don't like to do Kickstarter campaigns. Instead, they run Nickstarters. They're pre-order systems that unlock special freebies as they go along. They've got their latest one underway now, looking to get some figures for The Maze of Malcor. If you want in, you've got 25 days to get your name on the list.

We continue to move forward, not backward, upward, not forward, and always whirling, whirling, twirling towards the weekend. We might also be dizzy now...
Anyway, we have made it halfway through the week. And someone brought a giant bag stuffed with candy and put it in the break room here. So, while I can't give you a "fun-size" Kit-Kat through the screen (I tried, but then I has to go clean my monitor), I can give you some bite-size gaming stories.

So, for today we have: H.E.A.D. Hunters Coming to Kickstarter This Fall, Unity: A Brand New Indie RPG on the Horizon, New Fire Forge themed bases Available From Dark Art Miniatures, Pipmen Playing Cards (Relaunch) On Kickstarter, Rockabilly Heads Now Available From Tabletop-Art, Golem Miniatures shop is online, New Multi-Mini Deal From Nexus Miniatures, North Star Military Figures Takes Over Day-to-Day Activities of Copplestone Castings, Winter War: Free Combat Patrol supplement for 1939 Russo-Finnish War From Sally 4th, New Stygian Torsos Available From Bits of War, Lands of Ruin Kickstarter reaches the funding goal, and Final Day for Battle Arena Show On Kickstarter.

Tremble Ye TyrantsNorth Star Military Figures will soon be receiving stock of the Tremble Ye Tyrants rules. From their announcement:
The latest set of rules from Chris Peers' Ruga Ruga Publishing will be with us next week. Tremble ye Tyrants! is a set of rules for medium to large scale wargames set in the last decade or so of the Napoleonic Wars, or roughly between 1805 and 1815. This is the classic Napoleonic “Empire” period, including the great campaigns of Austerlitz, Jena, Eylau and Friedland, Aspern and Wagram, as well as the invasions of Spain and Russia, and the decisive allied victories at Leipzig and Waterloo. In addition to refighting these great battles, and the countless lesser ones of the era, the rules are designed to be suitable for free-form campaigns, hypothetical scenarios, and one-off competition style games using armies built on a system of points values. Tabletop armies can represent a wide variety of real life levels of organisation, from a division up to a full scale army. Tremble ye Tyrants! is aimed at players who want a fast playing and enjoyable game with a minimum of complex mechanisms, but which retains as much as possible of the tactical flavour of the period, and makes large scale manoeuvres feasible within the confines of an evening’s game. Although designed mainly with 28mm figures in mind, it is suitable for any scale and any size of game. We have not only improved the quality of Tremble Ye Tyrants compared to previous Ruga-Ruga books, we have managed to bring down the cover price to £10.00. For all pre-orders placed, we are offering Tremble ye Tyrants post free world-wide.
The Devil’s WindNorth Star Military Figures now have stock of The Devil’s Wind rules covering the Indian Mutiny. From their announcement:
These rules for refighting battles from the Indian Mutiny of 1857 - 58 follow on from previous sets in this series ~ A Good Dusting and Washing the Spears ~ which have received a very positive reception from gamers. They are designed not for competition play but with enjoyment between like-minded friends firmly to the fore and focus very much on throwing loads of dice and feeling the ‘brush of the Devil’s Wind’ across your cheek in the process. Games should play out satisfactorily in two to three hours on a table about 7’ x 4’ or so. There is no figure, time or ground scale to worry about, just cut straight to the action on the road to Lucknow…
North Star Military Figures have released new 28mm mounted British figures for their North Star Africa range. Mounted British troops From their announcement:
The North Star Africa! range continues with two new packs of mounted British South Africa Company troopers. The packs contain 2 different figures, the first pack armed with pistols, the second pack with Martini-Henry rifles. The British South Africa Company was a volunteer force raised by Cecil Rhodes to overthrow the Matabele Kingdom in 1893. They fought their major battles behind wagon laagers armed with Maxim machine guns, but actually were in the main light cavalry, ready to ride out once the enemy had been broken. One such group of mounted BSAC troopers was ambushed on the Shangani river and wiped out to a man. As I've mentioned in previous posts, the BSAC were not uniformed, so these figures will do for any irregular troops in the British Empire during the late 19th Century.
North Star Military Figures have added more 28mm British miniatures to their North Star Africa range. Pioneers From their announcement:
The North Star Africa! range expands with the addition of 8 new riflemen for the British South Africa Company. The BSAC was a volunteer force raised by Cecil Rhodes in 1890 to take over that part of Africa now known as Zimbabwe.  Although designed to be BSAC riflemen, they are dressed in the kind of stout Victorian outdoors gear seen all over the Empire, so can be used for many different scenarios. In addition, we are moulding now the mounted versions, the Major Allan Wilson figure and a vignette pack of the Shangani Patrol's last stand. North Star Africa! are 28mm figures, made of metal and supplied unpainted. Lon will have the North Star Africa! on his Brigade Games stand at Historicon next weekend.
March Attack front CoverNorth Star Military Figures now has stock of the March Attack rules from Crusader Publishing. From their announcement:
The latest set of rules from Crusader Publishing is in stock now at North Star. Titled 'March Attack', this is a set of rules for big Napoleonic Battles. 'March Attack are presented as an 80 page A4, full colour, perfect bound book. The rules are designed to allow players to fight large battles with battalion sized units in a reasonable amount of time.  Command and control, orders and morale for large formations are combined with easy to learn tactical game mechanics so that battles of a Corps or more a side, can easily be fought by a few players during an evening. Each unit on the table represents a battalion of infantry, regiment of cavalry or battery of artillery.
