New Realms Publishing

With the gaming renaissance that's going on, many new gamers are coming into the hobby. As such, some companies are looking to bring back some of the feel of older games to a new audience. Such is the case with Heroes & Dragons Red by New Realms Publishing. It brings the feel of BECMI games from the 80s to your tabletop, but with updated systems and a 100% cooperative style.
The inhuman servants of the old gods have been waiting, patiently and silently, for their chance to once more summon their deities to the mortal realm and usher in... well... a lot of bad stuff (well, anyone that's not a cultist would probably think it'd be bad stuff). Heroes of all types from all over the world have taken on the task of rooting out the cult and stopping their rituals. You're one of those heroes as you play Dungeonous, a new fantasy RPG from New Realms Publishing.
Players love dungeons, so I've found.
It's like a nice concentrated packet of XP and treasure. Sure, it's fraught with all sorts of danger (that XP isn't going to just jump onto your character sheet, now is it?), but you don't get reward without risk. That's half the fun. Well, the fellows over at New Realms Publishing have started off a new module set with DD1: The Dungeons of Karas Karn as part of their Universal Adventure line.
All good adventures must come to an end. You just have to hope that it's not the end for the adventurers as well. Such is the case with Caverns of the Blood Howlers, a new Universal Adventure module that's now available. What started with The Blood Howlers of Black Willow Gorge (who knew it was going to be related?) is coming to a dramatic climax.
Randomly stumbling across something that'd been previously considered lost is generally a good thing. "Oh hey, here's my watch!" "Ah, so that's where I put my phone charger!" "Look at this treasure chest of pirate gold I just stumbled across!" What I don't think anyone's ever said is, "Great! I was wondering where I'd put that graveyard." Well, probably some archaeologists, but not your average person. Well, now your adventurers have the chance to react to finding a graveyard out of nowhere with The Forgotten Graveyard universal adventure.
Halloween would be a great time to get together with your gaming group and get a session in. It's on a Saturday this year. And even beyond that, for those of you with Daylight Savings Time, "Fall Back" happens on Sunday morning, so you effectively get an extra hour of Halloween night. To help get your group into the ghoulish mood, New Realms Publishing is having a Halloween Horror Sale.
This weekend's activities for me will include the start of a new RPG adventure. It's a group I've been playing with for a while, but we're starting out with new characters going on a new adventure and all that fun sort of stuff. I'm going to play a half-orc battle chef because... why not? I'm not sure what the DM has in store for us, but having some universal adventures at hand would make his job a little easier. And New Realms Publishing has a new one available.
New Realms Publishing has another adventure for your players (no matter what system you might be playing at the moment). This time, your adventuring group is headed to the rugged northern lands of Ravenor. Out in the woods, you search through the tombs beneath that land, uncovering more questions than answers (and no, just traipsing through underground tombs isn't just odd in and of itself. You're adventurers, remember?).
As summer transitions into fall (my local grocery store has had Halloween candy displays for 2 weeks now), it's time to start thinking of spooky and horrifying things to inflict upon your players. A tomb would fit the bill. Though... hmm... just a tomb on its own would be enough. It should be terrifying... Yeah, a tomb of terrifying... or, multiple tombs! Yeah! Tombs of Terror.
Oh, hey, look. New Realms Publishing already has us covered.
Welcome back to Wednesday, beautiful readers.

As is our custom, we've collected up some of the bite-sized stories we've come across in the past few days and present them to you now.

In this batch we have: Expedition Adventure Card Game Coming to Kickstarter, New Undead Warband releases at Pendraken, Blackwater Gulch Savage Beasts Kickstarter Coming Soon, Hitech Miniatures Releases Lord Cruentus, First Team Yankee Models Sighted at Breakthrough Assault, Fireforge Crusader Archers Pre-Order available, Treasures of the Haunted Tower Now Available, Ironwatch releases their State of the Watch for 2015-2016, Primer on Patrol Angis Posted, ClearHorizon Miniatures releases the 15mm Armadillo APC, and New 30mm and 40mm Cobblestone Base Deals from Tabletop-Art.

We continue on with the post-Gen Con week's work. Though I was able to keep up with a lot of things, obviously, things are going to fall behind in some areas. I'm almost out of the mountain of e-mails I'd gotten over the weekend. If I've not replied to you yet, don't worry, I will. There's just a lot to sort through.

At the moment, though, it's sorting through a bunch of bite-sized stories.

This time around we've got: Age of Tyrants Updates Rulebook, New Heroic Scale Female Heads from Statuesque Miniatures, Fablestone Dice: Bone Origins now on Kickstarter - fantasy themed dice with innovative features, Another Warthrone approved army list: High Elves from Warhammer, Khurasan releases 15mm Middle Eastern Irregulars, Free Miniature for August from The Ion Age, Pay What You Want Adventure Module Now Available, New 32mm Lava themed bases Available from Dark Art Miniatures, Evil Bear Wargames First Release: Bear Tactical Hardsuits, and some more installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic.

The citizens of Ravenor spend their nights terrified. There are... things... that haunt the town and nobody dares stay out after sunset. It is into this town your adventurers find themselves. Can they help out and let the citizens have a restful night sleep for the first time in memory? Or will they become just more of the victims?
It's Sunday (at least at time of posting in much of the world... stupid time zones...). I hope you were able to get out and get some gaming on yesterday (or perhaps some today). My party did not get TPK yesterday. Though some party relations were strained a bit. Remember, everyone, communication is key.
Also, Fighters hate having to make Will saves.

But that's as may be. We've collected some bite-sized stories over the past couple days and present them to you now.

In this batch we have: A couple more sets of The Fiver, New 2mm Roman Buildings from Brigade Models, Meridian Miniatures release Chibi Hippogryph for Tooth & Sword, Old Dominion GameWorks posts Post Captain Master index pt 1, Universal Adventures Celestial Invocations Now Available, and Stag Rider unveiled for The Shattered Crown.

Fishing is a dangerous profession (Mike Rowe of Deadliest Catch taught me that). And I don't just mean if you're out on the Bering Sea going after crab. Fishing on rivers can be just as dangerous (Jeremy Wade of River Monsters taught me that). Well, it's not just wind, wave, and wily critters that can increase the death toll along the river-going population. Fishing boats have been found drifting with nobody on them recently. And just the other day, a river boat that was headed for Ravenor was found run aground with the crew and cargo missing. Your adventuring party has been tasked with finding out what's going on. That's the adventure hook for Universal Adventure Module #5, Dark Water Doom.
New Realms Publishing sends you down further into the depths with their Universal Adventure Module #4, Death Knell Delve Part II. This is their largest module to date, with 108 cards of monsters, traps, treasure, and other encounters for your players. Whatever fantasy RPG system you're playing, you can incorporate the Death Knell Delve into it. You don't even need a GM if you don't want one! The module is available now.

From the announcement:
Friday is once again upon us, dear readers. Oh what a glorious day it is, indeed. The weekend stretches ahead of us with all sorts of possibilities. Hopefully those possibilities include gaming-related goodness. My D&D game last week included using Unseen Servants to use an ogre corpse like a marionette. ... ... I've... got a weird group.

Anyway, as is our custom, we've collected various bite-sized stories and present them to you now.

In this batch we've got: Another World Miniatures announces new Indiegogo campaign, New 10mm SdKfz 251/20 'Uhu' (WWII German) from Minifigs, More codes in Khurasan's re-release of Testudo ECW/TYW range, Celestial Knight by Kabuki Models: WIP, Kabuki Models' original sculpture on sale, Dice Tower Award Nominations Posted, Battle Systems sneak peak of new terrain line, T1 Gaming Supplies Launch Event, Universal Adventures Adventure Module #3 Death Knell Delve Part I Now Available, Microworld Games 6mm Demons Released, Punkapocalyptic coming to Indiegogo on May 4th, Multiverse Gaming webstore is open, New 40mm bases from Dark Art Miniatures, and Dolmens and Dragons - An Entwickler Adventure from a Time before The War.

New Realms Publishing has a special deal going over in their RPGNow webshop. Until Sunday, they have 5 bundles of some of their most popular products (3 to a bundle) on sale for only $5 apiece. They have one for their Chaos Collection, one for the Universal Adventures rules set, an Ogres & Underworlds starter set, an Old School Campaigns bundle, and an Adventurer's Bundle. These will only be up until Sunday, so go get you some RPG stuff for a lot cheaper than you'd usually have to spend.

From the announcement:
New Realms Publishing sets off for further adventures with their Module #2, Scourge of the Scurvlings. Good with any fantasy RPG rules set, the module comes with set-up cards, monster cards, gold and loot cards, and location description cards. It's everything you could need to get your party going.

From the release:
New Realms Publishing has released their Game Master's Guide to Friends.
No, this isn't a guide for the socially awkward and how they can find other friends. This is about bringing comrades, followers, informants, and so forth into your gaming campaigns. It's not game-specific, so you can use it in whatever system you happen to be playing.

From the release:
New Realms Publishing has released Realms of Light, bringing Celestial power to your Ogres & Underworlds campaigns. There's new spell cards, a new profession, and new special abilities. Wield the power of light versus your opponents.

From the release:
New Realms Publishing has released their first Universal Adventure Module. They start things off by sending your characters to the underworld... I guess it's a shorter trip then, if you die along the way...
The release has everything you need, including set up, encounters, treasure, and event cards.

From the release:
Hopefully all our readers up in the North East are safe and warm.
Well, if you're snowed in (or even if you're not, I guess), here's a selection of some of the shorter stories we've come across the past couple days.

We've got: 2nd Special Edition Dragon Head Challenge Coin Kickstarter, RN Estudio's 2nd Master Series Mini release: Alice, Tabletop-Art Previews Meteoric Surface Bases, Assault on the Unknown Cover Revealed, Kabuki Models previews First Knight renders, MiniWorlds: New Pictures of Sepulcrum Expansion Set, Dystopian Wars Demo Event Announced for Gnome Con, New Cyborg Hills from LaserCutCard, Schrödinger's Cats Starts in on Stretch Goals, new pedestal from Thomarillion, and new stretch goals unlocked for the Fightin' Fungi Kickstarter.

New Realms Publishing thinks a new year is a great time to start a new adventure... and I'd have to say that I agree with that. As such, they're having a sale on their universal adventures over on RPGNow. Go get yourself 25% off their products until January 5th.

From the announcement:
New Realms Publishing has a new supplement book out for Ogres & Underworlds. This time it's the Realm of Darkness. Inside you'll find rules for using darkness to power your spells (I'm attacking the darkness! ... with darkness!). It's got the Warlock class, as well as new special abilities. And of course, new monsters (because a DM loves having more monsters around).

From the release:
New Realms Publishing is getting into the spirit of the season with their Christmas Sale happening now. They've got adventures, supplements, and rulebooks available for 20%-50% off. Bring some fantasy adventures to your Christmas holiday with some RPG books for cheaper than you'd usually spend!
