Everyone likes to get more for their money. Whether it's because you don't have a lot and want to keep what you can, or you have a lot but want a whole lot more, we all love to save a few bucks if we can. Well, Warlord Games is here to help out. They've got a special deal for an Armored Patrol for Bolt Action as well as a sale on starter armies for some of their game systems.
The old saying goes that, "Clothes make the man."
And before anyone really thought, "you know... maybe we shouldn't have our soldiers stick out like sore thumbs to get shot down," many army units were known specifically for their flashy uniforms. One such were the French Hussars, which you can now get from Warlord Games.
For full effect of this news post, feel free to put on the 1812 Overture.
Yes, for all my fellow Americans out there, the 1812 Overture has nothing to do with "our" War of 1812. It's about the French and Russians. The French, specifically, are the object of this post, with new plastic Hussars available to pre-order from Warlord Games.
Get on your bikes and ride!
Err... get on your horses and ride!
In their day, cavalrymen armed with lances were some of the most formidable soldiers out on the battlefield. They were fast, deadly, and could turn the tide of an entire battle with one of their charges. And now you can add some to your Black Powder French forces.
While Bolt Action might encompass a very specific set of years, Warlord Games' Black Powder line spans quite a number of years, as well as numerous conflicts that took place all across the globe during said time periods. There are a couple new releases for the line that are separated by as much as 60 years.
Well... Saturday's over. At least for me, that means changing the "carefree, do-what-you-want" attitude is replaced by a "determined, get things done around the house" one. Laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and, of course, bringing you some bite-sized stories for you to munch on.

In today's grouping we have: Plain Bases Now Available From Anvil Industry, Heart of Crown Coming to Kickstarter January 26th, Siren Miniatures Previews Maestro, The Wargaming Company Announces New 1812 Napoleonic Campaign Guide, and Toad King Castings website launched.

Having been a history student for as long as I was (partway through a Master's degree), I took various classes that covered bit and pieces of the Napoleonic Wars. However, I never took one that covered them all from start to finish. In much the same way, many board games out there might have part of the Napoleonic Wars in them, a particular battle or a campaign, for example, but not the entire thing from start to finish. Well, Victory and Glory: Napoleon lets you do just that.
Welcome once again to Saturday. It's been quite a morning over here. Rather busy for a Saturday. Biggest thing I've been working on is my decision to magnetize my Betrayal at Calth set (yes, this means it's not 100% assembled yet. The games I've been playing of it have been using stand-in figs for much of it. It happens). The only problem comes from maneuvering small, fiddly pieces that, very literally, will move on their own. As such, I have glue all over my fingers. Thankfully, though, on at least one occasion, that's helped me when my drill bit slipped and instead of giving me a scrape, it just gouged the glue that'd built up there. So, an asset hidden in a liability.

But that's a story for when I post the review later today. At the moment, we've got other reviews/previews to deal with.

In this batch we have: Late French Napoleonic Infantry from Perry Miniatures and Warlord Games, Dark Moon, Clockwork Kingdom, Queen of the Hill, Dice Masters: The Amazing Spider-Man, Conquest at Kismet, Barony, Star Wars Armada Wave 2 Ships, Tides of Time, Pentoggle, Mars Attacks Miniatures Game, Risk: Star Wars Edition, Space Cadets: Away Missions, Bomb Squad, Escape the Nightmare, and T.I.M.E Stories.

While it seems a lot of Warlord Games' focus is on Bolt Action and some of their sci-fi properties, they certainly haven't forgotten about their other historical lines. Such as with Pike & Shotte, who have some new musketeer minis that are now available.
Monday, Monday (ba-la, ba-la-la-laaaa). Some people (and Garfield) aren't fans of Monday. I don't necessarily dislike them. So no, I don't have a "Case of the Mondays." I hope you don't have them, either.

What I do have is a case of "Terrain Corner Fever." The only cure is telling you about the terrain stories I've come across recently (and more cowbell, because more cowbell is always needed).

Today's stories include: New Terra-Block Warehouse Kit From Sally 4th, New in the Buxey 1815 Collection from Battlefield Buildings: Gemioncourt Farm, Stacks of Crates Set 1 Now Available from Tabletop-Art, Mini Duels Table Top Terrain for 28mm games On Kickstarter, Manorhouse Workshop Update # 2 – Modular Terrain, and Front Arc announced new watchtowers and bridges set.

The "Build An Army" deal for Bolt Action has gone over very well. People are using the website to make a force using the drop-down menus, then getting themselves a free tank with the deal. Well, Warlord Games is expanding the deal to their other game systems. First up is Black Powder.
With autumn rapidly approaching, it's a good time to get together items for any projects you might want to be working on when the cold comes (or it gets too hot, for our Southern Hemisphere friends). Brigade Games has just the thing. They're having a sale that'll end this Friday. You can use the opportunity to pick up some of the new Napoleonic models they've released.
Welcome back to Friday, beautiful TGN reader.

Do you have any gaming lined up for this weekend?
I... don't...
I'm going to be cooking. If you want to talk about that, I'll meet you down in the comments section. :P

As for now, we've got some bite-sized stories for you.

In this batch we have: HADES Banshee VTOL now available for Pre-Order from ClearHorizon Miniatures, Kromlech New Release - Legionary Shields, Willy Miniatures Undead & Necromantic Team video advance, New 28mm Napoleonic Ottomans from Matchlock Minis, Sabresquadron Has Gone To Print, Dragon Head Coins Series #2 on Kickstarter, New Bases from WarGamma, and a couple new installments of The Fiver.

Napoleon was an artilleryman. That's where he got his start in the military. And by many accounts, he was a master at utilizing it on the battlefield. Considering the battle formations still in use (regiments of men in close proximity, marching in steady lines), a well-commanded bit of artillery could take out a rather significant part of the enemy forces. Now Victrix lets you do that on the battlefield by finally releasing their French Napoleonic Artillery pieces.
Warlord Games is giving you an opportunity to get into one of their game systems with their Summer Sizzling Starter Sale (holy alliteration, Batman!). Pick up the rulebook for one of their various systems and you can get a plastic box set from that system for free.
Time to let your hair down, get together with some friends, and hopefully get some gaming in.

As usual, we've got some bite-sized stories we've collected together over the past couple days and serve them to you now.

In this batch we have: AMP Adventures Collection Available Now, Res Publica by Reiner Knizia returns This Summer, Rebel Minis Releases Earth Force Kodiak Class Battlesuits, Dave Chalker’s Top 10 Tips When Negotiating Contracts, New Perk Added To Another World Indiegogo campaign, Kromlech New Release - Legionary Jump Pack, New Front Arc Marker Released by Tabletop-Art, ClearHorizon Miniatures Releases the 28mm Nemesis Light Strike Vehicle, Club Fantasci Interviews Karl Fenner of Common Man Games About Police Precinct: Uplift, Veil Fall Dark Future Horror Miniatures Kickstarter By Erebus Studios Running Now, and Victrix Ltd 28mm Napoleonic French Artillery - slight delay.

Told you it wouldn't be long before Warlord Games came back with another Napoleonic release. We once more go back to the fields of Waterloo where we have some new Prussians, arriving back just in time to save Wellington's butt after the French had initially sent them into retreat. There's a new High Command set as well as some new Jagers (no word on if they're carrying any bombs).
Victrix steps up to bat for our Napoleonic post for the day with the announcement that they're now taking pre-orders for their 28mm French foot artillery kits. These figures will fit in for the years 1804 to 1812 (they did a nice overture of that year). You get a special bonus with your pre-order as well. Click through for details.
Victrix is another of the companies having specials this month in honor of the 200th anniversary of Waterloo. In their case, they're having a special sale going on in their webshop on all Napoleonic products. If you'd like to get some of their historical figures for cheaper than you'd usually have to spend, you just gotta use the right code at checkout.
Waterloo. It was 200 years ago. One of the battles that set the course of history after it. I'd like to think you've heard about it by now if you've been paying attention to the site at all, since... yeah, we've had a lot of companies doing things in honor of the anniversary (and rightly so!). Warlord Games had announced some bundles and deals earlier, but now they've gone all-out with even more sets and bundles so you can re-create your own reenactment of the events of 200 years ago.
Je suis Napoleon!
Hehe, no I'm just kidding. Though if you or a friend are any type of Napoleon impersonator, now would be a good time to go out and get noticed. It's the 200th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo. As such many games and specials are popping up based on that historic battle. Wargame Shop has a new board game, Grand Empires Waterloo, that you can use to replicate the events of that day. The game is part of their Grand Empire series (as you can tell from the name). When you purchase the .pdf download, you get the game board, counters, and rules for the game.
This month is the 200th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo, arguably one of the most well-known battles in Western Civilization. Napoleon met his epic defeat that effectively ended his rule of the French empire (except for the Hundred Days a little later on). In recognition of this historic event, Warlord Games is having a couple sales that any Napoleonic fan would be interested in.
Give yourself a pat on the back. You've made it to another Wednesday. We're halfway to the weekend. If you have any mid-week gaming plans, we'd love to hear about it down in the comments. Over the next couple days, I'll be prepping for the D&D game I'm running on Saturday. Last session, the group narrowly avoided TPK twice. So obviously, I need to up my game some.

As usual for the day, we've got some bite-sized stories we've collected together for you.

In this batch we've got: MidKnight Heroes Reaches Funding Goal and Previews Chibi Stretch Goal, Some more Installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Quick Reference Rulebook of Military History: Medieval Wargame available for testing, Blacksmith Miniatures release Mahé the Sailor, New Skull Masks Available from Tabletop-Art, Final week for Dark Sword Miniatures New Range Tony DiTerlizzi Masterworks Kickstarter, Ophidian Wars releases ECG with optional 3D printed minis, NeoExodus Campaign Setting Update for Pathfinder On Kickstarter, Mekawing Z updated to version 1.7, New Shock Tokens from Sally 4th, Epic New Token Line For Table Top And Role Playing Games, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm May Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, Hitech Miniatures New Webstore Opened, 28mm Crates Barrels and Casks from Castle Kits, New 15mm Sci-Fi Buildings from Gamecraft Miniatures, Infantry Bases for 6mm (1/285th) Figures from GameCraft Miniatures, New Rocket Platform Terrain from DerekPages, Manorhouse Workshop Update #32 – Modular Underground Project – How to paint walls and floors quickly, Demigods Evolution Funds in 1 Day, and Victrix Previews French Artillery.

Alessio Cavatore over at River Horse has just been a busy little bee lately. Along with Terminator Genisys that's going to be on your store shelves any time now (my copy here came in the other day. Expect extra coverage of that soon), he's been working on Waterloo - Quelle Affaire. The Kickstarter campaign is up and running and has just passed over the funding goal. The game is a hex-based strategic board game that lets you and an opponent recreate the famous defeat of Napoleon. Though, hopefully, (if you're the French player) you might be able to pull a victory out where the French originally had one of their most historic defeats.
