MERCS Miniatures

I... I'm attacking the darkness!!
Sure, that might just be a cute line from that old Dead Alewives skit, but it's also what you get to do in Myth: Dark Frontier, a new cooperative board game up on Kickstarter. The city of Farrenroc is under siege by the Darkness (umm... not Charlie Murphy... or that one band). You'll have to gather together, the various legendary heroes in the world of Myth, if you want to make sure the city survives.
MERCS Miniatures has launched a Kickstarter campaign for The Banner Saga Warbands, their new cooperative miniatures board game. Take up the role of Quartermaster, Keeper of Names, Warmaster, or Thane as you try to push for resolutions that help you out the most, but also are vital for the overall warband. Compromise is key.
MegaCon Games has launched their Kickstarter campaign for Myth: Journeyman, a pair of expansions for their Myth board game. Blackwell Warrens and Shores of Kanis gives your gaming group more stories to play out on the tabletop. With new heroes, monsters, and gear, they also update the Myth rules with a new rulebook. The new rules can also be downloaded on the Kickstarter page, if you want to see what's changed.

From the campaign:
MegaCon Games is having their holiday sale going on now over in their webshop.

From the jolly gamers:

Mercs Miniatures has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Mercs: Recon. They were looking for $50k. They're already at more than 3x that with still 35 days to go.

From the campaign:

MERCS Recon is a fully co-operative experience where you play as a team looking to break in and infiltrate an opposing MegaCon Headquarters. You’ll be fighting down tight corridors, holding important locations, taking out targets and even interrogating employees as you fight against an increasingly aggressive in-built game AI.

Mercs Miniatures has updated their Myth Kickstarter page with a whole slew of new WIP sculpts.

From the preview:

Here is that minis update I have been promising you. Some of these you have seen before, but they had minor tweaks or I am telling you a little bit about them now and didn't want you to have to hunt through all the updates.

Play Unplugged has some more GenCon coverage up with their interview with the fellows from Mercs.

Mercs Miniatures was kind enough to stop and talk with Bo, one of our intrepid roving reporters on the TGN Action News Team while at PAX East and talk some about their Myth game. (check out their Kickstarter here)

Mercs Miniatures has launched their new Kickstarter campaign to fund their game Myth.

From the campaign:

Myth is a cooperative game for 2 to 5 players developed and published by MERCS Miniatures (MegaCon Games). A complete game in Myth is called a Story. Each Story is played over three Acts. Play Unplugged continues their month of MERCS with a painting guide. I know we've sort of stopped posting painting/hobby guides (as suggested by you, the readers), but I figured since this one was part of this whole series, it'd be ok.

From the guide:

MERCS keeps rolling with their ISS previews. Here's another set of 3D renders.

From the preview:

I missed yesterdays posting because I was all jacked up on Mountain Dew!!

I had to finish up a project and get it to the printer so we can have it well within the timing for GenCon. But, I'll make good on it today with a double post of hotness. Hopefully you'll feel good about it :-)

This morning is what would have been yesterdays posted models. Oh yeah!

(FYI you can click to enlarge)

MERCS continues their ISS previews with some 3D renders of more ISS armor.

From the preview:

Both of these images are early renders of the models. Basic male and female armor variants. Enjoy :-)

MERCS has some more concept art for us today. Check out the heavier-armor guys.

From the preview:

Yes I return to the forums as a new man.

We continue this week's ISS preview with the final renders for the cards.

ISS Myrmidon - First thing you need to know is that they are lethal in short range, just flat out devastating. My concept for them from the beginning was to play upon the flavors of the area, and I immediately gravitated towards the nature of the matador. ISS must close distance, but not let the opponent get in too close. They can fire at long-range, but this isn't their strength. Likewise, they have the ability to survive in H2H, but this isn't where you want to be. If a target is coaxed within two cards/short range, then whammo.

Luckily, ISS Corp Abilities make this happen sooner and considerably safer.

MERCs has some new pieces of concept art for some new ISS armor and weapons for you to oogle.

From the preview:

I intentionally delayed showing off much ISS prior to Texico. We wanted to get the models out for the Texans first. However, with the way we are printing the boxes and getting the starter kits going, these two groups will be releasing simultaneously.

So! There's no reason to wait any more. This week I'll be dumping pretty much all the resources created for ISS on the forums. Development concepts, final art for the cards, and 3D sculpts of the all the characters. If you follow Brian's tweets, you've had a taste of ISS. BTW if you don't follow, you should! There are all sorts of tasty surprises that show up there. However, this thread is getting the mother load.

I'll be posting stuff everyday leading into the next week. First up, ISS turns, armor variants, and some guns!

MERCS minis now has the card for the FCC Saboteur up on their forums for download.

If you don't believe me. Maybe you'll believe them:
For those of you who have recently, or are thinking of purchasing the FCC Saboteur, the game card for this model has been added to the Downloads page.
