Masmorra Dungeons of Arcadia

It's Saturday.
But it's not just any Saturday.
It's the Saturday of a 3-day weekend.
Hopefully, you're out, enjoying yourselves somewhere. Be it gaming, out at the lake, a camping weekend, or whatever. But if you're stopping by here, I know it's because you still crave those gaming reviews. So let's get to them.

Today we have: Knot Dice Deluxe, Arcadia Quest: Pets, Hoyuk, Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia, Realm Master, Frostgrave: Ulterior Motives, Anansi and the Book of Stories, 3 to 4 Headed Monster, Histrio, Draconis Invasion, Green Deal, Difference, Terra Mystica iOS, Scum of the Earth, and The Campaign for Kharkov: October 1941.

It's the last day of the month. We're 1/4 of the way through the year. The summer heat isn't far away. Time to get your board game collection bulked up and get set for some hot months ahead (or cold ones, if you're down south). CMON's got a whole bunch of new releases available today that you can pick up at your LGS.
It's another Saturday.
Through an odd turn of events, I'm in the office. So Monday and Tuesday I was home because I was sick. Now it's Saturday and I'm in the office because my internet is broken at home (overnight storm fried my modem). But all is well. Things are getting done.

Anyway, as for the roundup, we have: Hoard, ManaSurge, Africana, Vikings Gone Wild, Empires At Sea, Adorable to Horrible, Secret Hitler, Rhino Hero, Descent: Road to Legend, Isle of Skye, Tanks, Escape From the Aliens in Outerspace, Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia, and New Earth.

All good things must come to an end. That is the way of it. Such was the case yesterday with the CMON Expo. I realize I'm going to seem rather biased for saying it, but it really is my favorite show of the year. Unlike the bigger shows, the Expo is designed to be low-key. Other shows you might see your favorite sculptor or game designer or painter in passing in the hall, or get to just hear them talk in a packed panel room, but at Expo you can just stand around and talk with them for a couple hours, or even better, play a game that they designed right there with them.

Anyway, here's another set of photos. These were taken during the final day of the show.
So it happens with these sorts of things, the Kickstarter campaign for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia is coming to an end. The campaign will end tomorrow at 7pm Eastern. So if you want to get in there and help retake the guild's training grounds from the evil clutches of Malaphyas, you'd better act now.
Well, if you're going to have a dungeon, you'd better have it full of monsters. That's what I'd think, anyway. And that's what CoolMiniOrNot and Spaghetti Western think as well, as they've added a new Monsters Dice add-on to their Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia Kickstarter campaign.
Watch It Played, for those that don't know, is a YouTube channel that, well... it's sort of right there in the name, but it's a channel devoted to showing gamers how to play many of the great games that exist in our hobby. Rodney Smith has been running the channel for several years and many of his videos feature his son, Luke (who is known to just have "the touch" when it comes to getting dice to work in his favor). Well, Luke's now getting his own figure for Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia.
If you're going to clean out the Masmorra dungeon and return to being a guild training ground, you're going to need help. Well, now you can pick from several more heroes to go down there and deal with those monsters. A new Adventurers Set add-on has been... well... added on to the Masmorra Kickstarter campaign.
Masmorra is a massive dungeon complex underneath the city of Arcadia. But it wasn't originally intended as a place of dark despair. No, this was a training ground for the various heroes all looking to become a member of the different Guilds of heroes within the city. However, the dark warlock Malaphyas has since decided "a dungeon needs an evil overlord in charge of it" and claimed himself as that evil overlord. Now, instead of Guild hopefuls, Masmorra's corridors are full of Malaphyas' minions. But, heroes being heroes (even if they're just heroes-in-training) are going to do what they're going to do. So it's time to go clean out those dungeons and return them to the rightful owners. That's the story behind Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia, which has just launched on Kickstarter.
Sometimes there's a game you really love the world for, but you want to play something different than the "standard" game that you have with it. For many systems, that's not really much of an option. However, if you're a fan of Arcadia Quest but want to see something new, look no further than Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia. The Kickstarter launches in a week.
Well, the XenoShyft: Dreadmire Kickstarter has ended in a rousing success. Now begins the work of getting the game produced and sent out to eager backers. But what if you weren't a fan of the sci-fi deck-building game? Or maybe you were a fan and backed, but you also love the world of Arcadia Quest and want to see the next product for it? Well, at the end of the XenoShyft campaign, we've got an announcement about the next CoolMiniOrNot project coming to Kickstarter, Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia.
The CoolMiniOrNot Expo 2015 (or CMON Expo if you’re hip) kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia today. For those of you unfamiliar with the event, it’s an annual tabletop gaming convention hosted by the folks at CMON where gamers get to try out the company’s past, present, and future games along with a wide array of other titles from companies like On The Lamb, Action Phase, Witchborn, and more. To kick off the event, CMON held their State of Affairs panel detailing its releases during 2014 and 2015, what’s to come later in 2015, and a taste of the games we can look forward to in the future.
