Mage Company

Way back in high school, I took French because I was sure that I was going to play hockey and wanted to be able to talk with my French-Canadian teammates. Obviously, that didn't end up happening. I really do wish I'd kept up with my French, though. For those that do know French, and possibly only know French, you'll be happy to know that Mage Company has teamed up with Bragelonne to release their Carrotia game in French.

It's never fun when things go awry with a Kickstarter campaign. Backers want their product they previously paid for and were promised. Unfortunately, sometimes snags happen, such as with Aether Captains and Carrotia from Mage Company. However, they've been working at getting it straightened out, and now they're ready to announce that they've paired up with Quartermaster Logistics to deliver games to backers.

When many of us think of the Renaissance, we think of great works of art and architecture, maybe some famous pieces of sculpture. But, you know, it wasn't exactly the most peaceful time in world history, either. Various houses vied for supremacy, and many of those famous artists and sculptors were commissioned for their military minds as much as their artistic talents. The Borgias are certainly ones that had their thumb on many other houses via bribery, intrigued, and outright use of arms. And it's into this part of the Renaissance that you find yourself in Cesare Borgia, a new board game coming from Mage Company later this year.
Sometimes, you miss out on a Kickstarter. It happens to us all. We don't have the funds at the time or just miss it, or other things are occupying our time. Thankfully, there's the late pledge and pledge manager time. That's the point where 12 Realms: Dungeonland is at. Mage Company is currently taking pre-orders for the game, as well as accessories and other things from the Kickstarter. This is your last chance to get in on exclusives and special pricing.
When you've got a monster following you, chances are that you want to get rid of it. But that's easier said than done, as the monsters can change colors and shapes to try and stick around. But try to get rid of them you must, and to do it quickly. That's what you'll be doing in Monster Boo, a new party card game coming from Mage Company.
Mage Company is now taking late pledges for their 12 Realms: Dungeonland game. If you missed out on the Kickstarter, but want to still get the benefits of it, now's your chance. The game is for 1-4 players, as you head your way through a dungeon (seems appropriate). Take on the mantle of famous characters from folklore and look for adventure and loot.
Got another of those "games changing hands" stories for you. This time around, it's Mage Company. They'll be taking over Goblin Dice from Gaga Games. In the game, you play as a goblin in a race. But it's not just making sure you beat your opponents, it's about making sure you're not crushed by the magic boulder that's chasing after all of you (talk about motivation!).
Well, now that you've gone and gotten your name on the list to get your copy of the new edition of 40k, let's get down to business with the regular affairs for Saturdays. That is, the Review Roundup.

Today we have: Carcosa, Pandemic, 12 Realms, 12 Realms: Ghost Town, Legendary: Big Trouble in Little China, Imperial Settlers: Aztecs Expansion, Space Invaders: Dice, Coal Baron: The Great Card Game, Saga of the Northmen, Wettlauf nach El Dorado, Get Rich Quick, Critters Below, and Honshu.

Mage Company takes us beneath the 12 Realms world in their new stand-alone game, Dungeonland. In the game, famous fairy tale and folklore stories have been corrupted by dark magic. The usual, "Happily Ever After" endings are no more, and it threatens the entire realm with destruction. Will you be able to collect together and correctly interpret the clues and put a stop to whatever is behind it all?
The game is up on Kickstarter now.
It's Saturday.
But it's not just any Saturday.
It's the Saturday of a 3-day weekend.
Hopefully, you're out, enjoying yourselves somewhere. Be it gaming, out at the lake, a camping weekend, or whatever. But if you're stopping by here, I know it's because you still crave those gaming reviews. So let's get to them.

Today we have: Knot Dice Deluxe, Arcadia Quest: Pets, Hoyuk, Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia, Realm Master, Frostgrave: Ulterior Motives, Anansi and the Book of Stories, 3 to 4 Headed Monster, Histrio, Draconis Invasion, Green Deal, Difference, Terra Mystica iOS, Scum of the Earth, and The Campaign for Kharkov: October 1941.

Well, it's almost like the week is getting back on schedule, even though it's Saturday. I woke up. I got groceries. I'm now typing up the Review Roundup in my living room while listening to music and contemplating the rest of my day. Sort of nice to get things back to how they should be. What can I say? I'm a creature of habit. Anyway, as it's Saturday, it's time to get you those review articles I know you all so desperately desire. So let's get to it.

Today we have: Knot Dice Deluxe, Via Nebula, Lords of Hellas, 12 Realms: Dungeonland, 1754 Conquest: The French and Indian War, Star Realms: Colony Wars and United Expansions, Tournament of Towers, Manhattan Project: Energy Empire, Tesla vs. Edison: Duel, Balloon Pop, Terra Mystica App, Star Trek Panic, Sagrada, Yokohama, Ravage: Dungeons of Plunder, and EXIT: The Game - The Secret Lab.

Mage Company is headed underground in their new board game. 12 Realms: Dungeonland is a new standalone game in the 12 Realms universe (note: it's not an expansion, either). In this cooperative game, you and your other heroes will head into the dark places looking for the source of dark magic that's been making its way up to the surface. Will you make it there, or will you be conveniently pre-buried in the depths?
It's getting busy here in the office, what with the CMON Expo coming up this weekend. Lots of the usually out-of-office staff are coming in. I baked cookies for the occasion. But it's not just cookies that will sustain us for the show. We'll also need to fill up on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Carthage Board Game Coming to Kickstarter, Rise of the Shadow Lords Miniatures Up On Kickstarter, Brigade Models Release Spanish Aeronef Fleet, Acheson Creations adds Chimps to Pewter Line, New releases from Terrible Kids Stuff - May 2017, Dragon Egg Inn Coming to Kickstarter, Final Days for Hannibal & Hamilcar on Kickstarter, Short Order Hero Coming To Kickstarter, New Orc Jet Fighter Pilot from Kromlech, Final Week For The Drowned Earth on Kickstarter, New Terminous Bases Available From Micro Art Studio, 12 Realms: Dungeonland Coming To Kickstarter, New Chaos Legionary Small Banners Available From Kromlech, and Final Week for Significant 7 Dwarves On Kickstarter.

It's Thursday and I'm at home. The Office Move continues, with much of the furniture making its way to the new building. But since the new place isn't quite ready yet, many of us are working from home. Besides, trying to write while movers are going up and down the halls with stuff is a bit distracting.

Speaking of buildings, we've got a bunch of terrain stories for you today. One of the biggest Terrain Corners I can remember. So let's get to it.

Today we have: New Webshop Open For Last Sword Miniatures, Battlefield in a Box: Medium Desert House Available From Battlefront, Mage Company Features 12 Realms: Dungeonland Scenery Packs, Classic Columns Now Available From Tabletop-Art, Champion's Bowl Game Mat Available From Warzone Studio, New Gaming Mats Available From Frontline Gaming, Sailpower multi-scale Ships Up On Kickstarter, New Normandy Terrain From Najewitz Modellbau, Battlefield in a Box: Desert Escarpments Available From Battlefront, Manorhouse Workshop & RGFX collaboration: The Dark Crypt (Fog Tower), Valdisfjell The West Door Map Available From Heroic Maps, Warland Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargame, Battlefield in a Box: Desert Palms Available From Battlefront, and New Orc Barrels Available From Kromlech.

Hey everyone.
Well, the first week of the year is coming to a close. It's been... an odd one. Monday I had off. Tuesday I had to take my car in for repairs (which got finished up on Thursday, since they had to order in a part). Wednesday and Thursday I had some stomach issues. Now it's Friday and everyone here in Atlanta is bracing for a "huge snowstorm" that's on its way. Hopefully it's not too bad and everyone out there stays safe.
But just as everyone is stocking up on bread and milk, let's stock up on some bite-sized gaming stories, as well as some terrain pieces from this week.

As such, we have: Flat Plastic Miniatures 2 Up On Kickstarter, New Sleeves Unlocked in Mage Company Kickstarter, New Metalized Discworld Death Bust From Micro Art Studio, New Magnetic Foil Sets Available From Tabletop-Art, Avatars of War Having Plastic Harpies Sale This Week, Brigade Models 6mm Habitation Dome Released, Heer46 launches Gebirgsjaeger Kickstarter, Molecules of Hatred: Wulfrim Irongrudge Available, and Acheson Releases More Dungeon Worlds Part 2 Figures.

Occasionally, games will change hands. Sometimes a company acquires an already-existing project as they feel they will be able to help it grow by giving it a wider audience than the original company is able to. Well, Mage Company has picked up Dwar7s Fall from Vesuvious Media. Here's to getting out there and getting gems from the mountain so you can buy food and build up your dwarven kingdom.
Hey guys. You might've noticed we didn't have a Terrain Corner yesterday. That's because I was whisked away to help work on a super-ultra-deep-covert project. Or, being that a lot of companies are currently on holiday, there wasn't much to report on. One of the two. Anyway, so today we've got a combined Terrain Corner/Friday Snippets for you.

Today we have: Coffin Set 1 Available From Tabletop-Art, Dust Town Gaming Mat Available From Pwork Wargames, MAGE Company launches on Kickstarter the MCG Premium Sleeves, and New Infinity dedicated 70mm Tech Round base From Micro Art Studio.

Today's a day to celebrate. Why? It's my 5th anniversary with TGN. Yes, on this day, 5 years ago, I made my first post on the site. It was the new plastic Warp Wolf kit that Privateer Press was coming out with. Oh how gaming has changed since then. I remember having a conversation, a couple months into my tenure, with Ross "The Legend" Thompson (my boss at the time) about, "These Kickstarter-things."
So, to celebrate, let's have a bunch of bite-sized gaming stories.
What? We do that every Wednesday? Well, fine, be that way.

Today we have: Dice Coins 2 Up On Kickstarter, I Will Never Grow Up becomes exclusive distributor of Field Marshal Games products, Ramshackle Games Posts Stretch Goal Goblin For Jet Bike Kickstarter, New Discworld Death Bust -15% discount, Factions Fantasy Playing Cards Coming To Kickstarter in January, New Releases Available From Scotia Grendel, Casual Game Revolution Posts 2017 Tabletop Gaming Conventions Map, Mage Company To Launch Sleeves and Gaming Accessories Kickstarter, Kill the Unicorns Coming to Kickstarter in June, New Morbid Legionary Torsos From Kromlech, Temple of Isis Round Lip Bases Now Available From Tabletop-Art, New Releases And Final Christmas Sale From Advanced Deployment, Flatminis 2D preprinted miniatures are now available as PDF download, Two new Characters bring gold to Talisman: Digital Edition, and Khurasan releases 15mm Hezbollah and Syrian Government Forces.

I technically have the day off today. Why? Because CMON went public on the Hong Kong stock exchange and they're giving us the day off to celebrate. But the news doesn't stop just because the office is closed. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor slush, shal keep me from giving you your news (ok, so maybe eating lots of food last week would keep me from doing it, but still...). Gonna be a bit shorter day today, but I still want to get you your bite-sized gaming stories. So let's get to it.

On the platter today, we have: Ramshackle Games Releases the Boom Wagon, Gods & Goddesses 5th edition supplement coming to Kickstarter in February, Kromlech New Release: Vehicle Hull Points Markers, Raging Heroes Sale Extended Through This Weekend, Aether Captains: Action Cards Update, Liam Games distributes MAGE Company in Israel, and Czacha Games to publish Polish Raid and Trade in 2017.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Or, for those of you not in the US. Happy Wednesday!
As for me, I'm going to be busy when I get home. I need to bake another pumpkin pie, put turkey 1 into the brine bucket, speed-thaw turkey 2 (place in cold, running water for a couple hours), and make whipped cream for the pies (cream, sugar, and spices). Gonna be very busy, but should be fun. But to have enough energy for that, I need to nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today we have: New Infinity Dice Sets From Corvus Belli, New Bases Available From Micro Art Studio, BattleScribe 2.0 Released, Dungeonland PnP is now available and Kickstarter Stretch Goals are revealed, New Alien Heads From Ramshackle Games, Okumarts Games team up with GG Studios, New Releases Available From Dark Sword Miniatures, Divine Art Playing Cards up On Kickstarter, Comrades in Battle Stretch Goal Levels Lowered, Head set Multi Pack From Ramshackle Games, NPC For Hire Game Aid On Kickstarter, New Temple of Isis Bases From Tabletop-Art, Fusion Bases by Wamp Up On Kickstarter, Highway System Coming to Kickstarter, New Female Greatcoat Troops Available From Victoria Miniatures, and New Hordes Token Sets Available From Advanced Deployment.

At once, it feels both like, "wow. Already Wednesday?" and "wow. How is it only Wednesday?"
Is it that way for anyone else or just me?
I feel like I've gotten a lot done, but have a lot more waiting ahead of me.
Ah well. We'll make it. Break on through to the other side. To help with that, here's a bunch of bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Scotia Grendel New Releases - October 2016, Rebel Minis Launches Rise of the Animechs Kickstarter, Shatterlands Kickstarter Reaches Funding Goal, Xtraidos Skirmish Game Relaunching Soon On Indiegogo, Ether Wars Kickstarter Relaunch November 22nd + Giveaway starting this Tuesday, New Releases Available From Victoria Miniatures, Idea Jab Card Game Coming To Kickstarter "Pretty Soonish", Khurasan releases 15mm Seydlitz Tank, Geek Chic Releases The Vanguard Table, Chronicles Miniatures Game Looking For Beta Testers, Brother Vinni Releases Tricycle Robot, Final Hours For Shadows of Esteren On Kickstarter, Final Days for Ninja Arena On Kickstarter, Table Air Combat: U-2 Kukuruznik Now Available, Castles & Crusades latest Kickstarter in its final week, Twisted Brothers Studio join MAGE Company, and New Breacher Bikes Available From Kromlech.

It's been quite a week. I know a lot of people are looking forward to the weekend in order to clear their mind of things. I know that's the case for me. I'm hoping to get some gaming on tomorrow and just decompress. I'm not one for getting political, but just remember that despite all our differences, we're all humans and we all have to live on this planet together.
That said, let's get to some bite-sized gaming stories.

On the platter today we have: New Arkham Horro Playmats From Fantasy Flight Games, Independence Day sale at Assault Publishing, 12 Realms and Raid & Trade November Scenarios Posted, Kromlech Weekend Promo Happening Now, Yokai Quest Kickstarter Launches Next Week, and Skirmisher Publishing Releases 100 Oddities For A Wasteland.

Well, we've made it halfway through the week. Just another half to go and we'll be getting back to the weekend.
I know I could use to fuel up for that last push with a bunch of bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: Beneath Nexus Available for pre-order November 15th, Mage Company Posts 12 Realms: Dungeonland Cover, Comrades in Battle Passes Stretch Goals, and Kromlech New Release: New Breacher Bike Patterns.

I don't know about you, but my week has been busy. Lots of news. Lots of proofing projects. Lots of e-mails to reply to about a myriad of things. And tonight's going to be busy, too. Friend's birthday party tomorrow, so I'll be doing some baking to take to the party. Pumpkin snickerdoodles, to be specific. I'm going to make them a lot smaller than my usual cookies I make, then make a cream cheese filling and basically make them Oreos with it. It's the first pumpkin-flavored thing I'm making this year.
Speaking of bite-size morsels of joy, we've got our regular assortment of stories for you.

On the platter today we have: Kromlech New Release: Legionary Heavy Thunder Gun, Trapdoor Bringing Playbook Digital RPG Companion to Android, Mage Company launches new website for Dungeonland, Smart Device App Dized Being Soft-Launched October 2016, The Board Game Show Interviews The Donner Party Game Designer Greg Porter, New Lamia Available From Brother Vinni, Super Chibi Round 2 - Reboot Funded, Three New Mechs Available From Raging Heroes, Kromlech Weekend Promo: Orc Mech-Boss, and New Releases Available From Scotia Grendel.

Conventions are a great place to pick up some games. You can usually get the latest and greatest that's available and pick it up right from the company, many times before anyone else has had a chance to get them. Mage Company will be at Spiel Essen in a couple weeks, and to make sure that you can get the games you want, they're taking pre-orders for pick up there.
