WizKids Previews Captain America For HeroClix

One of the bigger announcements in comic books in the past year or so was the revelation that Captain America had always been a deep-cover Hydra agent this whole time.
Spoilers: it's not that they retconned all of Steve's backstory from the beginning. It's that Red Skull is having some fun with the Cosmic Cube and time travel. But it certainly did shake things up. Well, the "secretly a Hydra agent this whole time" version of Cap is headed to HeroClix in the Avengers/Defenders War set.

WizKids Previews Dr. Strange For HeroClix

In the upcoming Avengers/Defenders War set for HeroClix, some of the heroes are listed as "title characters." They have special abilities tied to them called... well, "title character abilities." This allows them to gain and spend Plot Points in order to do special things on the board. Dr. Strange is one such character coming in the set.

WizKids Previews Groot For HeroClix

I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot.
I guess I could leave it at that and claim that's all the proper words for letting you know about this preview, but that wouldn't really be right. Anyway, since there's a new Guardians of the Galaxy set coming for HeroClix, they'd be remiss if they left out everyone's favorite talking (kinda) treeman.

WizKids Renews Star Trek License, Announces Future Releases

WizKids is happy to announce that they've re-signed their licensing deal with CBS for Star Trek. Considering how big a property Star Trek is, that's newsworthy in and of itself. But they've also posted up a list of new products they're going to be coming out with that license. They include more Attack Wing sets, a new Star Trek Tactics set, HeroClix figures, and even unpainted ships.

WizKids Previews The Porcupine For HeroClix

Comics are filled with all sorts of colorful characters. The Porcupine is certainly among them. Looking at the costume, he's giving me a sort of "Ultimate Warrior" vibe, but without the face paint. Anyway, the villain is coming to your HeroClix games in the Avengers/Defenders War set, but you can get a look at him here.

WizKids Previews Rocket Raccoon For HeroClix

When you think of the Guardians of the Galaxy, I'm willing to say it's a pretty safe bet that you're thinking of Groot and Rocket Raccoon. While Star Lord may be the leader, and Drax and Gamora certainly have their parts to play, the dynamic duo of a talking (kind of) tree and murderous raccoon are what I, at least, think of when I think of the group. Well, with the new movie coming out, there's going to be new versions of those characters. In this preview, we get a look at what Rocket Raccoon is going to be like.

WizKids Previews Yondu For HeroClix

The Guardians of the Galaxy certainly does have some interesting-looking characters they interact with. One of them is the space pirate, Yondu. I mean, he's got an arrow that he can control... psychically? Magically? I don't honestly know. But you don't want to get hit by it, that's for sure. He's making his way to your tabletops in HeroClix, and you can get a look at what he's capable of in this preview.

WizKids Previews Drax For HeroClix

Somedecade I need to go see the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I've heard it's good. I'm just really lazy when it comes to that sort of thing. Well, apparently, a new one's coming out soon. To tie-in with it, WizKids is releasing a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set for HeroClix. We get our first look inside of it with a preview of Drax.

WizKids Previews Deadpool (A Lot of Them) for HeroClix

One thing you'd expect to get in a set called Deadpool & X-Force is at least one Deadpool miniature. You might even expect two or three.
Well... never let it be known that WizKids doesn't name their sets appropriately, as this set is creaking at the seams with Deadpools, of which we get a preview of 8 of them here. Yes. 8.

WizKids Previews Hulkpool For HeroClix

Just about everyone in the Marvel universe has had a Deadpool parody of them at some point, it seems. In this instance, it's the Hulk that gets the Deadpool makeover. I have to admit, not having read comics for almost 2 decades now, I don't quite know the circumstances that Wade ended up with gamma-infused powers, but there we are, then. Check out Hulkpool.

WizKids Previews Shredder Clone and Shredder Shark For HeroClix

... Comics really are weird.
So, clones are really no big thing anymore, really. We've had Dolly the sheep around for decades now. And comics make heavy use of them all the time. But then you've got Shredder Shark. It's a shark! It's an octopus! It's a Shredder! It's a shark and an octopus and a Shredder!
Because why the hell not?

WizKids Previews Mini Shredder For HeroClix

Comics are weird. I mean, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is already pretty weird, just starting out. It's sort of right there in the name. Well, the comics got weirder from there, including all manner of odd characters. In this case, we're talking about Mini Shredder. Yeah, Austin Powers certainly wasn't the first place to have that sort of thing (and neither were the Turtles, but still...).

WizKids Previews Savanti Romero For HeroClix

The previews are coming hot and heavy for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles releases from WizKids. Both Dice Masters and HeroClix are getting sets, and that means plenty of characters in various forms. The one for HeroClix today is a bit of a mouthful to say. Take a look at Savanti Alfonso Juanito Geriero Santiago Romero.

WizKids Previews Superman vs. Muhammad Ali Convention Exclusive For HeroClix

While comics take place in a world much like ours (except where you can have giant aliens and robots and such, of course), they're usually a step apart and you don't get too many real-world crossovers. Well, back in 1978, DC brought boxer Muhammad Ali to their pages where he sparred against none other than the Man of Steel, himself, Superman. Now, WizKids is bringing that to your HeroClix tabletops with a special set that is a convention exclusive.

WizKids Previews Sliver for HeroClix

Ah, the alternate universe. It's a great way for a writer to take characters that we all know and love and put them into new situations or give them similar but altered traits. And that's just what happened in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic. In an alternate reality, the Turtles gained different super powers and their master, Splinter, was the dark and evil Sliver. Well, Sliver's coming to HeroClix and you can check him out below.

WizKids Previews Bebop for HeroClix

Where would The Shredder be without his faithful assistant and henchman, Bebop? ... ... ... Probably a lot closer to actually completing his plans of defeating the Turtles and world domination, actually. But that's beside the point. The Shredder's Return set for HeroClix will be coming out soon and there's going to be both a pre- and post-mutation version of Bebop in there, of which we get a look at here.

WizKids Previews Foot Tech Soldiers For HeroClix

Dice Masters isn't the only game getting a Ninja Turtles expansion soon. HeroClix will be getting their 3rd mutant-themed set when Shredder's Return comes out. And what would fighting against Shredder be without fighting against Foot Soldiers? Nothing, that's what. Well, the new set has plenty of new Foot Soldiers for you to line the field with.

WizKids Previews Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk For HeroClix

Ok, so, what would happen if you mixed the power of the Red Hulk, added in the symbiotic might of Venom, and threw in a dash of Biblical vengeance from Ghost Rider? Well, you'd get the Spirit of Vengeance Red Hulk. Yes, it happened (comics are weird) and it's coming to your tabletops for HeroClix as a convention exclusive figure.
