Flying Frog Productions

Flying Frog Productions is looking to get you a pair of new Shadows of Brimstone adventures, and they're taking to Kickstarter to get them funded. First, become a guardian of Asgard in Gates of Valhalla. Then, trek through a dark and dangrous swamp in Valley of the Serpent Kings.

The dead are rising from their graves. They are massing outside and you need to escape. That's going to be easier said than done as the gear you need is spread out all over and those zombies can bust through doors with seeming ease. That's the story behind Last Night On Earth. If you're looking to add some new variety to the game, Flying Frog has started taking pre-orders for their new Hero Pack One, which includes new characters that will hopefully survive past the evening.
When Shadows of Brimstone first came out, it was all about the Weird West where you'd head down into a mine in search of the monsters that'd been coming out. It's since branched out, with those tunnels leading to strange and fantastic worlds. The next tunnel you go down doesn't lead to a world, though. It leads you off-world, with Derelict Ship OtherWorld. Pre-orders are being taken now.
It's time once more for a Review Roundup. Why? Because it's Saturday! Woo!
As you read this, I'm hanging out with some friends, playing games. Took over a group of favorites, and hopefully will get me a new Guild Ball opponent, too. I also baked brownies, because I can't go to a friend's place empty-handed. Hopefully you're doing something similar, be it at a friend's place, your garage, or your LGS.
But anyway, I know you're really here for those reviews.

Today we have: Legends Untold, Mage Wars Academy: Warlock & Priestess Expansions Review, Aggressor: Recon, Shadows of Brimstone, Tambuzi, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle, Kill Doctor Lucky: Deluxe 19.5th Anniversary Edition, Tanks: Panther vs Sherman, Junk Art, Roll Player, and Potion Explosion.

The wild west isn't the only place where strange, otherworldly terrors are encroaching into the everyday world. It seems as though Japan is also rife with terrible monsters such as Oni, Tengu, and the dreaded Harionago. To keep the world safe, you must lead your heroes into the depths of the temple in order to defeat these creatures before they unleash terror upon the world. That's the story, at least, in the new Shadows of Brimstone set, called Forbidden Fortress, that's up on Kickstarter now.
Many people have time off around this part of the year. What better time to grab your paintbrushes and maybe win some prizes for doing so? Well, that's what Flying Frog Productions is hoping you'll do, anyway. They're running a Shadows of Brimstone painting contest over on their website.
With all the talk of other conventions going on, we've not really heard much about PAX Prime. There will be gaming there. I've seen Randall from Catalyst talk a bit about it on their Facebook page. Flying Frog Productions will also be there, and they'll have some pre-releases for Shadows of Brimstone along with them.
Everyone likes to get free, bonus stuff. Many game companies offer exclusive promo pieces if you order right from them. Warlord Games is well-known for it. Flying Frog also does it quite a bit. They're currently taking pre-orders for their Caverns of Cynder expansion for Shadows of Brimstone. And if you order from them directly, you can get a pair of promo cards.
Gen Con is long gone, but the ripples from it still remain. At the show, many companies will have pre-production or preview versions of figures they'll be coming out with soon. Flying Frog was one such company. They had bunches of new Shadows of Brimstone minis available. And while a ton of them were snatched up by anxious gamers, there were some left over after the show. Now you can get them over in the Flying Frog webshop.
It's Tuesday and that means it's time for another Podcast Roundup. Tired of listening to your coworkers? Grab your headphones and get your nerd on.

In this batch we have: Multiple videos from Through Gamer Goggles as they tooled around at Gen Con, Mantic posts an unboxing of Abyssal Dwarves, Geeks of the North Episode 18 – Happy Birthday, and All Us Geeks Episode 59 Having Great Snowball Battles During Table Golf.

There's a lot of board games coming out lately that have some very pretty miniatures with them (recently being the last couple years, mind you). Many people just leave the figures in the colored plastic they come in. But others really want the board game to look as good as a miniatures game. So they take a lot of time and effort painting them up. Well, Flying Frog Productions wants to award those that take this extra step. They're having themselves a painting contest at Gen Con for their Shadows of Brimstone game.
Flying Frog Productions continues their history of new game announcements at GAMA this year with the reveal of Dark Gothic: Colonial Horror. This game is a stand alone expansion for last year's deck building game set in the A Touch of Evil universe. Players who own the original Dark Gothic can expect to add brand new Heroes, Villains, and other cards to the set. Meanwhile, players who don't own the original can still enjoy Colonial Horror but at a reduced player count of two to three.
Flying Frog Productions will be bringing advance copies of their new board game, Shadows of Brimstone, with them to GenCon.

From the campaign:

We are in the final hours of the Kickstarter now and it is going crazy! Lots of Stretch Goals unlocking since my last update!

Flying Frog Games continues to go up in funding for Shadows of Brimstone. They've posted up their $1m stretch goal. They've got 5 days to get there.

From the update:

What can I say? The Kickstarter campaign is thundering forward and we're all in for a crazy ride in this last week! We unlocked more new Stretch Goals including the Undead Gunslinger and have revealed the next round of Stretch Goals through the $1M mark. The big $1M Stretch Goal is Beli'al.

Flying Frog Productions updated their Shadows of Brimstone Kickstarter campaign by showing off a new mini, new EU shipping notice, adding a new succubi add-on and passing another stretch goal.

From the update:

First off, we recently reached 2600 Backers and broke through the $700K Stretch Goal, giving everyone backing at the Outlaw Pledge Level and higher a set of three new Large Enemies - Void Hounds!

We are proud to announce that we will be doing shipping from within the EU for EU customers! We haven't finalized the details yet, but we know that many EU fans have been waiting for this news to back the project and we wanted to let people know as soon as possible!

Next up, we have a brand new Mission Pack added to the Optional Add-Ons Menu (included Free at the MineCart Pledge Level). This new Mission Pack expands on the Caverns of Cynder OtherWorld, introducing the Hellfire Succubi of Cynder!

Lastly, we are excited to show off a brand new sculpt that we just got! It's the female Dark Stone Shaman miniature!

Shadows of Brimstone, by Flying Frog Productions, has made it well over the $500k mark over on Kickstarter. If you've not checked out the page since the campaign started, you probably should to see what all has been added to the game.

Flying Frog Productions makes board games based on various genres. In the latest issue of Ravage magazine I've got a review of Fortune & Glory, their pulp adventures game. At GenCon they handed me that one along with Last Night on Earth, their zombie horror game. I figured that today, of all days, would be the most appropriate for such a review.

So grab your baseball bat and aim for the head. It's time for another TGN review. Bring your brains... as they are tasty with ketchup.

Flying Frog Productions has launched their Kickstarter campaign for Shadows of Brimstone, their new horror/western board game. It's already more than 5x their goal in funding and rising fast.

From the campaign:

Shadows of Brimstone is a fast-paced, Cooperative, dungeon-crawl boardgame set in the Old West, and mixed with Unspeakable Horror!

Players create characters, taking on the role of a classic Western Hero Archetype, such as the Law Man, Gunslinger, or Saloon Girl. Forming an adventuring posse, the Heroes venture down into the dark mines, overrun with all manner of ancient demons and foul creatures from another world. With tactical gameplay, lots of dice, and a robust card-driven exploration system, no two games are ever the same as the Heroes explore the mines finding new enemies to fight, new Loot to collect, and new dangers to overcome. Players can even find portals to other worlds, stepping through to continue their adventures on the other side!

As promised, I'm here at GenCon and updating!

First up is a video with a couple different game companies here at the show talking about the awesome stuff they've got in store.
If you're in Indy, be sure to come by their booths. If you're not in Indy... well... get to Indy!!

We'll have another of these videos up tomorrow for you, showcasing more of the attending vendors here at the show.
Flying Frog Productions has released new art prints of their characters from Fortune and Glory.

From their announcment:
