Battlefront's 'Battle of An-Nakhl' Arab-Israeli Wars Sale Going On Now

June 1967 was a good month for Israel's military. In the course of just six days, they defeated their enemies. A major battle during the conflict was fought at the old Turkish fort of An-Nakhl. Battlefront has a new Desert Fort kit coming out and figured people might want to recreate the battle of An-Nakhl on their tabletop. So they're having themselves a bit of a sale on Fate of a Nation figures for a couple weeks.

Battlefront Features the M50 (155mm) Gun for Fate of a Nation

Battlefront continues their "all artillery, all the time" previews for Fate of a Nation with a look at the M50 155mm gun. It certainly can't be said that you don't have options in your methods of bombardment in that game.
I've got basically no knowledge of the conflict the game surrounds, but it seems there were lots of artillery pieces present.
Napoleon would've loved it.

Battlefront features the M40 106mm Recoilless for Fate of a Nation

Battlefront continues their look at new releases for Fate of a Nation with the M40 106mm Recoilless gun. The box comes with four guns and crew, along with gun pit terrain pieces, which is nice. Keep those Israeli tank commanders on their toes as your Jordanian forces bring these guns to the field.

Battlefront features Heavy Mortar Platoon for Fate of a Nation

Battlefront gives us a look at another unit coming out for Fate of a Nation with an article on their Heavy Mortar Platoon. Certainly not the best for surgical strikes, mortars are handy at causing chaos in enemy lines, their random nature making your opponent keep their heads down, even if the last blast wasn't near them. And to make sure the platoon does actually hit something, they've got spotters, as well as a command base to make sure everyone does what they're supposed to.

Battlefront features the M3 90mm DEFA for Fate of a Nation

Battlefront continues the focus on Fate of a Nation with their M3 90mm DEFA halftrack. They also continue their anti-tank theme. This vehicle, though, seems perfectly suited to not flipping over backwards whenever it is fired. *wink*
The use of these anti-tank vehicles (that weren't tanks themselves) meant that the actual takes in the forces could continue to press the advantage against the enemy.

Battlefront features the Shahak for Fate of a Nation

Battlefront adds more to their Fate of a Nation line with a look at the Shahak fighter jet. One thing I really like about these kits is that Battlefront really gives you just about everything a modeler can need for them, including rare-earth magnets for the flight stand. I also like the detail on this little plane. I still sometimes find it amazing how much detail a talented model-maker can put on even a 15mm model.

Battlefront features the Anti-tank Jeep for Fate of a Nation

Battlefront is showing off their new anti-tank Jeep for Fate of a Nation. Certainly faster and maneuverable than a tracked tank destroyer or a field piece, this thing still looks like it's just as liable to flip itself over backwards when it fires as it is to destroy whatever's in front of it. But hey, if it works, it works.

Battlefront features the Dassault Ouragan for Fate of a Nation

Battlefront features the Dassault Ouragan for Fate of a Nation in their latest article.

Source

From the article:

In order to maintain equal footing with their Arab neighbours, the Israeli Air Force begun exploring potential upgrades to their jet fighter arsenal. However, it soon became clear that the only nation willing to sell jet fighters to Israel was France and after some alterations to the initial deal, the delivery of twelve Dassault Ouragans begun on 6 October 1955. The initial dozen aircraft were quickly followed by two dozen more in late November after it was announced that Egypt had brokered a deal with Czechoslovakia that included the delivery of one hundred MiG-15 and MiG-17s along with 50 IL-28 bombers.

As tensions in the Mid-East escalated, war seems inevitable. Fearing the worst Israel launched Operation Moked (or Focus), a pre-emptive strike aimed at destroying the Arab Air Forces on the ground in an attempt to gain air supremacy for the land campaign that would surely follow. With virtually all of Israel’s 196 combat aircraft committed to the operation including 51 Ouragans; Operation Moked archived its desired outcome.

With air superiority now established, the Dassault Ouragan were unleashed against the ground forces of the Arab nations for the remained of the Six-Day War and were used to devastating effect against the retreating columns of the Arab nations.
