This release is little mix of different types of minis from some of our miniature lines including a fun tribute miniature for Frankie the Pug. Friends & Foes 5e Monster Cards Up On Kickstarter

Fiends & Foes are 5e chibi style monster cards with cool art on the front and the monster's stat block on the back.   We're a two person artist/designer team and we've laid out 4 Core Decks with 40 Cards each. That's 160 monsters covering CR0 to CR16!  The cards are tarot size (70mm x 121mm, 2.75" x 4.75") giving them plenty of space for the artwork and stat blocks.  And each deck is sorted by CR ranges, so it's easy to know which deck to bring with you to each campaign.

 

So, it's not like that there's anything wrong with riding a horse into battle. But it's just kinda... ordinary, don'tchaknow? I mean, you could be riding a bear or a stag into battle. Ok, so nobody's actually riding bears or stags into combat, but you can live vicariously through the couple new releases for The Shattered Crown from Dead Earth Games.

Grand Manoeuvre to publish Nineteenth Century Wargames rules in February

I`m setting a target for February when I will endeavour to make the first book of Grand Manoeuvre Nineteenth Century rules variants available.
The new rules will in the same format as Grand Manoeuvre Napoleonic rules.
The first part, an introduction to basic game terms etc., will also have information about unit/army organisation and qualities, the weapons used, tactical doctrine and lists of historical generals` ratings.

The second part will be the basic game rules themselves.

The first part will also contain additional rules, rules amendments and omissions. This first part will be made available separately, at half the full cost, if you already have the Napoleonic version.

Also included for reference, there will be separate files for the rules changes in each war.

The wars covered will be as follows:
1. The South American Wars 1811-1824
2. The November Uprising 1830-1
3. The Egyptian–Ottoman Wars 1831–3 & 1839-41
4. The Mexican War of 1846-8
5. The First Italian War of Independence 1848-9
6. The Hungarian Uprising 1848-9
7. The 1st Schleswig-Holstein War 1848-51

As with GM Napoleonic rules, there'll be an ink-saving black and white version supplied too.

Final Hours for Kill Dr. Lucky On Kickstarter

Doctor Lucky’s future is both bright and terrible. Bright, because over 2,000 people have pledged over $160,000 to make him a reality. Terrible, because those 2,000 + people want him dead.

Having raised over 400% their original funding goal, Cheapass has added a number of stretch goals including custom meeples, alternate boards, a cat, and even entirely new games like Deadfall and Before I Kill You, Mister Spy…. Stretch goals continue to be met just as quickly as they are revealed.

Braille RPG Dice from 64 Oz. Games on Kickstarter

We intend to create a high quality set of 3D printed Polyhedral Dice with a brand new 3d printer. These dice will be usable with a wide variety of RPG games and would be both functional for blind players and a great novelty item for sighted RPG players interested in being inclusive.

We've printed sample models using the model that we're looking at buying and we're pretty happy with the way they turned out.

Brigade Models Release New Aeronef Models

This week we have a couple of Aeronef models from foes either side of the Adriatic. The Austro-Hungarians get the Kaiserin class Dig Aircraft Carrier, a giant airship with a flight deck on top and capacious hangars inside the gasbag. The deck boasts a couple of cranes, and these are also available separately in an accessory pack.

The Italians meanwhile get the Ricardo PR-46 seaplane, a bizarre 3×3-winged beast used for transport and (when desperate) bombing raids.

Bring Back Mystery Science Theater 3000 On Kickstarter

Once upon a time, a television series called MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 was born. We debuted on Minneapolis' KTMA, local television, on Thanksgiving Day 1988, as the world was in the final throes of Teddy Ruxpin-mania. That was almost thirty years ago, but for some reason, people still seem to like the show – it’s a mitzvah!

Our show has had a long, strange run. Across a UHF channel, a cable network, cancellation, a feature film, then another cable network, the show lasted for 12 years, two generations of hosts and puppeteers, 2 Emmy nominations and a total of 197 episodes before we got canceled again for good in 1999. Sadly, it was just as Prince predicted.

But maybe that's not where it all ends.
Starting today, we finally get a chance to bring back MST3K.

With your help, we can create a new season of MST3K, prove there's still an audience, and maybe even convince a network to bring us back for more.

Note on that last story there: I obviously know that that's not a strictly "gaming" news story, but with how much MST3K has been a part of my "geek life," I wanted to share it with you. It's not the top of a "slippery slope" into just reporting on "whatever." I simply thought it might interest you as it did me.

Bear cavalry. You know you want them as part of your fantasy army. Hell, I wouldn't mind a bear to ride around on (Look! I'm on a furry tractor!) from time to time. And The Oatmeal certainly knows of the benefits of riding bears to work. And if you don't want to ride a bear to work, you could ride a stag, I suppose... I'd be over riding my bear to work.
Anyway, Dead Earth Games has launched their Warbears and Stagriders Kickstarter campaign.


They've made the first of each of the bear cavalry and stagriders figures. You can add-on other Shattered Crown minis as part of the Kickstarter campaign. The campaign is already 4/7 to their goal with still 26 days left to go.

Warbears and Stagriders Kickstarter Announced

Dead Earth Games will be taking to Kickstarter looking to fund the making of more Warbears and Stagriders to expand from their current prototypes into complete units.

Suitable for a number of fantasy games, all KS pledges will also provide free beta rules for their own new skirmish game, set in the world of The Shattered Crown.

The Kickstarter will begin on November 1st.

New 20mm Car Conversion Set From Ramshackle Games

I have just released some more 20mm post-apoc parts. The latest parts are a set of drivers, passengers, guns and other conversion pieces for adding detail to toy cars. They are suitable for modding matchbox and hotwheels scale vehicles. The set cast in resin and costs £20, which as usual comes with free world wide shipping.

Cul-De-Sac Conquest Heading Through Stretch Goals

Here is a big shoutout to Rebecca Clark from Break From Reality for completing our first unlock-able card challenge to make a Wikipedia page for Cul-De-Sac Conquest!

The Wikipedia page still needs some additional content and credibility to stay up as Wikipedia is odd about adding a ton of secondary sources, and fitting their formatting guidelines. However, it is hilarious. Anyone else who wants to add to it feel free to do so. Our social media extraordinaire, Ashley, added some new sources and news coverage to try to adhere more to Wikipedia's rules too so that should help.

Mr. Maksimov's Manor coming to Kickstarter in January 2016

Mr. Maksimov's Manor is played in four rounds. In each of these rounds players will bid on Maksimov's possessions during his estate sale. Item cards that players can gather will either build on each other for more points or cause the player to lose points. When bidding, players need to balance how much value can be gained from the available items with what cards could hurt them. Also, if Mr. Maksimov's will turns up, it could change everything!

Mr. Maksimov's Manor is a casual game that both non-gamers and strategy gamers can appreciate. Casual gamers will enjoy the game's easy to learn rules and the feelings of excitement and anticipation that the game play yields. What will keep strategy gamers coming back is the ability to manipulate the game's odds, constant risk and reward decisions, and subtle elements of social deduction.

Aquelarre Dark & Mature Medieval RPG On Kickstarter

Almost 25 years after it was first released in Spain, Aquelarre ("Coven") is finally going to receive an English translation. The game has enjoyed popularity in Spain and won multiple awards, and curious gamers have asked about an English version for many years. Now, through the efforts of Stewart Wieck (founder of White Wolf) and translator Lester Smith (multiple-Origins-award winning designer), the translation will become a reality.

Set in medieval Spain, the RPG blends history, mystery, demons, witches, and monsters from Spanish legends in a system that relies on percentile rolls. Since it has gone through three editions, rules for combat, weapons, and healing are all nicely detailed, with options to suit a variety of playing styles. The core book not only provides the standard rules for character creation and the like, but also significant information about medieval life and the supernatural, as well as a bestiary. The art is comprised of thematic and consistently gorgeous pieces - but like the game itself, the art does not shy away from dark themes.

The Kickstarter aims to produce gorgeous full-color deluxe editions of the 500 page main book, but a 250 page black and white Brevarium version will also be available. A DM's screen, decks that replace dice, and printed copies of King Arthur Pendragon (5.2 edition) are available as add-ons. It is running now through November 16th.

DGS announces Freeblades Kickstarter stretch goals and future Demon Faction

DGS Games announced on Saturday the development of a new Shadow Demon faction for their Freeblades game that is part of a stretch goal in their ongoing Creatures of Faelon Kickstarter.

From their Kickstarter Update:

"If we reach our first stretch goal of $10000, we will not only unlock an entirely new model – the Karbazaal, a demon leader – we will provide the rules for a brand new faction: THE SHADOW DEMONS! Yes, that is right, help us get to our stretch goal and we will not only give you one of the most powerful models in the game to date, it will lead a ninth faction into the game system. The Shadow Demon faction will be led by the Karbazaal with the Mokruhl as its caster. Its heroes will be Ventarx, Skethar, Gadarl and Saryad. Schleswig Holstein flags from Victorian Steel

Flags available on the website.
27 flags for the army of Holstein, these are really good print quality and great value for money, so far over £300 has been raised towards Combat Stress, if it was not for the flags this money would never of been raised so a big thank you for the donations to all who have contributed in buying the flags.

The army of Holstein carried flags of black, red and gold, horizontal and vertical with the black being nearest to the staff, they also carried the blue white and red flag with the coat of arms in the center, a number of mottos were written on these colours and in german writtings, these are also represented on the colours.

More to follow over the coming weeks,these will be the full army of Denmark including the cavalry and reserves,plus many colourful Prussian flags which could be used from the Napoleonic wars to the Franco-Prussian war.

The Shattered Crown previews Stag Rider sculpt

Dead Earth Games have released some pictures of the first sculpt for their Khras Stag Riders - a complete unit of which will be sculpted and manufactured should their Kickstarter be successful.

DGS Games has added specialty dice sets to their Creatures of Faelon Kickstarter rewards. While DGS offers a multi colored and all white tiered dice set as part of their product offerings, they have a special solid color dice set option available during the Kickstarter.

Dead Earth Games (makers of Across the Dead Earth) has launched their Kickstarter campaign for The Shattered Crown, their new fantasy miniature wargame. The game is influenced by historical units from the years 1200 to 1500 in Europe. Despite the focus on historical aspects to create the units, the game is not a historical battles game. It is a true fantasy game with various fantasy elements like mages, magical weapons, and bear cavalry. Who doesn't love a good bear cavalry unit?


A typical army in The Shattered Crown will have an army leader, some form of special hero, a mage to take care of mystical aspects, 1-3 units of infantry (which has about 12 miniatures in it), an elite unit (which has around 6 miniatures in it), and a cavalry unit or some other special unit (generally has about 3 miniatures in it).

The campaign is about 1/4 funded, but just got started, so there's still 27 days to get the rest of the funds.

It's Sunday (at least at time of posting in much of the world... stupid time zones...). I hope you were able to get out and get some gaming on yesterday (or perhaps some today). My party did not get TPK yesterday. Though some party relations were strained a bit. Remember, everyone, communication is key.
Also, Fighters hate having to make Will saves.

Hi there! I am known as Ryno Lourens (not pronounced the way you think it is). I’ve been at this whole game making business for about a decade, but this is my first attempt at getting a game published. I’m from South Africa, but I’ve lived in Asia for half a decade. New 2mm Roman Buildings from Brigade Models

Today we're releasing the first ancient buildings in our Small Scale Scenery range, and what is also (so far) the largest model.

We have a set of 22 metal Roman buildings to make up a town - houses, apartments, villas etc. We also have two larger resin items, a semi-circular theatre and a recreation of the amphitheatre at Arles in France. The amphitheatre comes in at an impressive 5 1/2" across.

Old Dominion GameWorks posts Post Captain Master index pt 1

ODGW will be releasing Post Captain soon and while we wait for the ship to come to port I've scavenged a couple goodies. Over the next couple weeks the Master Index for Post Captain will be released. Stag Rider unveiled for The Shattered Crown

Dead Earth Games have unveiled a 3D render video of the latest miniature for their forthcoming game The Shattered Crown - Princess Nave Khra, first of the Stag Riders.

The game will launch on Kickstarter later this month, where you'll be able to pledge for a whole unit of these awesome beasts!

Dead Earth Games has announced their second gaming project, The Shattered Crown. They hope for it to be up on Kickstarter in June. They are currently in playtesting and actively seeing more people interested in giving their new system a whirl. The game system looks to straddle the fantasy/historical line. They are looking to give the game a "historical wargame" feel, but not hold to the constraints of, you know, only using historical figures in it. So you can feel free to create your own kingdoms with their own lords and knights and vassals and so forth. And there'll be magic, too. Because magic's cool. Like all the models we have had made by Griffin, there is little or no flash on the models, and mould lines are almost non-existent.
