We're halfway through the week. I hope your first half has been good, and your second half is shaping up to be quick so we can get back to the weekend and do some gaming. You should also stay well-stocked-up on bite-size gaming stories.
Today on the platter we have: Secret Weapon Miniatures September Releases Available and Sale Happening Now, New Releases Available From Dark Sword Miniatures, Pirates of the Undead Seas Miniatures Up On Kickstarter, 5 New Releases Coming From Kraken Dice, and Friends & Foes 5e Monster Cards Up On Kickstarter.
So, it's not like that there's anything wrong with riding a horse into battle. But it's just kinda... ordinary, don'tchaknow? I mean, you could be riding a bear or a stag into battle. Ok, so nobody's actually riding bears or stags into combat, but you can live vicariously through the couple new releases for The Shattered Crown from Dead Earth Games.
Well, what a week we've had, eh? Lotsa big stuff going on, not least of which is the apparent return of specialty games to GW. I look forward to where that will lead. In the meantime, you can expect a review of the most-recent specialty game from them, Betrayal at Calth, tomorrow. So be sure to check back for that.
In the meantime, though, we have a collection of bite-sized stories to bring you.
Today's batch includes: Another World Miniatures Releases Maya Miniature, Grand Manoeuvre to publish Nineteenth Century Wargames rules in February, Final Hours for Kill Dr. Lucky On Kickstarter, Warmachine: Tactics Mercenary Warcaster Screenshot previews, Ratgard: Preview of the New Anti-aircraft missile, Kromlech New Release - Plaguelings, Warbears and Stagriders Funded: On to Awesome Stretch Goals, Braille RPG Dice from 64 Oz. Games on Kickstarter, Brigade Models Release New Aeronef Models, and Bring Back Mystery Science Theater 3000 On Kickstarter.
Bear cavalry. You know you want them as part of your fantasy army. Hell, I wouldn't mind a bear to ride around on (Look! I'm on a furry tractor!) from time to time. And The Oatmeal certainly knows of the benefits of riding bears to work. And if you don't want to ride a bear to work, you could ride a stag, I suppose... I'd be over riding my bear to work. Anyway, Dead Earth Games has launched their Warbears and Stagriders Kickstarter campaign.
Well, we're making our way through the week. My week has been... So yeah, we're making our way through the week. Let's get you some bite-sized stories that we've come across recently.
In today's batch we have: Warbears and Stagriders Kickstarter Announced, New 20mm Car Conversion Set From Ramshackle Games, Good: The Battle Halloween Special Rules Available Now, Geek Fever Games and Firepeng Games Join Forces, Cul-De-Sac Conquest Heading Through Stretch Goals, Ratgard: Badger Multiple Launch Rocket System Now Available, New Infinity Status Discs from Warsenal, Scotia Grendel New releases, Happy Seppuku Passes Kickstarter Goal, Mr. Maksimov's Manor coming to Kickstarter in January 2016, and Aquelarre Dark & Mature Medieval RPG On Kickstarter.
It's hot outside. But what do I expect? I live in Atlanta. It would seem that the best thing to do would be to stay inside and play games. To help me out (and anyone else who might live in a place where it's warm right now... or just anywhere, really), Dead Earth Games is having a sale over in their webshop.
Hello, beautiful readers, and welcome to another Sunday. Here at the bear cave, I'm doing a bit of cleaning and then I've got some Gen Con prep to work on. Yeah, the show is getting ever-closer. It'll be here before you know it. Just one more weekend after this before it's here. Will you be coming to the show? If so, lemme know. Maybe we can talk gaming (one of my favorite activities).
But that's for a couple weeks from now. At the moment, we've got some bite-sized stories to share.
In this batch we have: CROM: Conan Rise of Monsters has a teaser trailer for their Kickstarter launch, Gods and Monsters posts Kickstarter Video, A couple more installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Dead Earth Games Posts The Shattered Crown Gameplay Video, and DGS Games announces Freeblades Kickstarter stretch goals and future Demon Faction.
Welcome back again to TGN. Hopefully you had a good day yesterday. I spent the morning cleaning the place up a bit. Then most of the afternoon assembling a little more than half of the Age of Sigmar box set. The other half will be done today, after I get this post scheduled up. I've just got the Khorne warrior-dudes left to go.
How about you? What sort of gaming-related activities did you do yesterday/have planned for today?
In this batch of snippets we've got: A couple more installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Advanced Deployment's Huge Birthday Sale, Schleswig Holstein flags from Victorian Steel, Shattered Crown Previews Bear Cavalry Render, and Last days for RN Estudio's Latest Fantasy Sports Indiegogo campaign.
The work week rolls on. We've made it halfway through. Just another couple days and we'll be blissfully back into the weekend. For some of you, that weekend will include San Diego Comic Con. I... will not be there. That's probably a good thing. I doubt I'd do well in July in California with what feels like a hundred billion other people all crammed into one place.
Anyway, that aside, we've got another batch of bite-sized stories for you.
Today we have: Gods and Monsters previews Herald of Moros art and 3D render, Star Crush Starship Miniatures on Kickstarter, BTR Innovations Let's Play Dice on Kickstarter, The Shattered Crown previews Stag Rider sculpt, Atlantis Miniatures Live on Kickstarter, Meridian Miniatures unleash Chibi Zombies, Syrinscape Releases New Dragon's Demand Soundscapes and more, Zombie Dice is back from Steve Jackson Games, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm and 15mm June Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, and Freeblades Specialty Tiered Dice sets added to Kickstarter rewards.
Dead Earth Games (makers of Across the Dead Earth) has launched their Kickstarter campaign for The Shattered Crown, their new fantasy miniature wargame. The game is influenced by historical units from the years 1200 to 1500 in Europe. Despite the focus on historical aspects to create the units, the game is not a historical battles game. It is a true fantasy game with various fantasy elements like mages, magical weapons, and bear cavalry. Who doesn't love a good bear cavalry unit?
It's Sunday (at least at time of posting in much of the world... stupid time zones...). I hope you were able to get out and get some gaming on yesterday (or perhaps some today). My party did not get TPK yesterday. Though some party relations were strained a bit. Remember, everyone, communication is key. Also, Fighters hate having to make Will saves.
But that's as may be. We've collected some bite-sized stories over the past couple days and present them to you now.
In this batch we have: A couple more sets of The Fiver, New 2mm Roman Buildings from Brigade Models, Meridian Miniatures release Chibi Hippogryph for Tooth & Sword, Old Dominion GameWorks posts Post Captain Master index pt 1, Universal Adventures Celestial Invocations Now Available, and Stag Rider unveiled for The Shattered Crown.
Dead Earth Games has announced their second gaming project, The Shattered Crown. They hope for it to be up on Kickstarter in June. They are currently in playtesting and actively seeing more people interested in giving their new system a whirl. The game system looks to straddle the fantasy/historical line. They are looking to give the game a "historical wargame" feel, but not hold to the constraints of, you know, only using historical figures in it. So you can feel free to create your own kingdoms with their own lords and knights and vassals and so forth. And there'll be magic, too. Because magic's cool. (I realize that can sound like a snarky statement, but it's not meant to be) Anyway, you can join their group and download the playtest rules now.
Dead Earth Games has begun taking orders for a new gang for their post-apocalyptic miniatures skirmish game, Across the Dead Earth. These are the The Engineers Forward Expeditionary Squad (or just "Engineers" to their friends). The first 5 of them are just about ready to head to your gaming table.
Dead Earth Games has some new supplemental material for Across the Dead Earth with the release of their "The Rough Guide to the Dead Earth" Issue 1. Besides, it's free to download, so why not check it out. It's got a new scenario, updates about what's coming up for the game, and some nifty artwork.

Across the Dead Earth comes one step closer to reality with the collection from the casters of the first batch of white metal production miniatures. We believe the casting to be of the highest quality you will find. We quickly shipped one each of the miniatures to The Artificer in deepest, darkest Wales to apply a lick of paint to Fatboy, Crimson and Reggie. The Across the Dead Earth Kickstarter launches a1st March 2014.

This will be discounted against the future price an d will also include an exclusive miniature.
Dead Earth Games will shortly be releasing their first game: Across the Dead Earth, a Post-Apocalyptic skirmish wargame featuring persistent and upgradable Gangs of 28mm figures. We'll be launching a Kickstarter campaign in March to fund the miniatures, sculpted by Andrew May.
