More Events Added for CMON Expo 2015

CMON Expo continues to grow. They've added another trio of events for this upcoming year. (I know, because I put them there)
First off is a fan favorite, Frankenfest. Modelers work all weekend making whatever they can with a plethora of random bits. It's great fun and I can't wait to see what people create this year.
Next is the Kaos Ball Cup. The winner of this convention-long event will be crowned the Kaos Ball Champion and get the Koas Ball Cup trophy.
Finally is the Sedition Wars: Why Can't it go Smooth event. 6 players must try and race out of a doomed space station before... well... you don't want to miss the flight, let me tell you.
Check them all out on the CMON Expo website.

First Events added to CMON Expo 2015

CMON Expo is headed to its third year. The first couple events have just been posted on their website (I know, because I put them there). There's a Dark Age March to Immortality, an Infinity event, and a Wrath of Kings narrative event, which is pretty cool since it changes each day, depending on what happened in the previous day's event.

Hotel Registration Now Open for CMON Expo 2015

CMON Expo will be here before you know it! It's a great convention because the special guests aren't sequestered away in some back room until their panel and then hidden once more. No, they're out there on the convention floor, just talking with anyone and everyone. Want to play Kaosball with Eric Lang? You can do that. Want to paint next to Jen Haley? You can do that. And of course, there will be much, much more.
Pre-reg and hotel registration are up and running, so get your tickets now.

CMON Expo Event Spotlight: Dark Age: Siege of Fort Retribution

CMON Expo has some great events you can't find at other conventions. A very popular one from last year was the Dark Age mega-battle, Siege of Fort Retribution.

Source

About the event:

Hidden behind the imposing iron walls of Fort Retribution, Saint Johan is amassing an unstoppable army that if left to their own devices could mean the end for everyone else in the world of Dark Age. Frankenfest coming to CMON Expo

CMON Expo creeps ever-closer as the days go by. They've got a new event spotlight up: Frankenfest, where your creativity is your biggest asset.

Source

From the post:

CMON Expo Event Spotlight: Frankenfest!

n the vein of Dr. Frankenstein who stitched together a monstrous masterpiece from parts of broken bodies comes Fankenfest! Cool Mini Or Not is excited to be hosting this unusual, yet hilariously creative event! Contestants will create their own absurd monstrosity by gluing together random pieces from dozens of different miniatures. Then they will paint and base their creation over the course of the weekend. Creation will be judged on three qualities: paint job, art direction, and how dumb it looks fully assembled, but don’t be fooled, what you create from those pieces is entirely up to you! The only restriction is that the models bust be assembled, painted and based by Sunday’s deadline.

CMON Expo Event Spotlight: Paint and Take

CMON Expo was great fun to get together last year.
And I gotta admit, the Paint and Take area was a lot more popular than I originally expected. But then again, what other paint and takes have James Wappel and Jen Haley right there painting along with you?

Source

From the post:

The act of painting miniatures is a huge part of table top gaming. From dressing your army in it’s own custom colors to making each troop look individual, painting is just as much part of the hobby as actually playing the game. Our paint and take area offers attendees a great place to pick up already provided miniatures and paint and enjoy this side of the hobby. Weather you’re a miniature painter on the cusp of going pro and just need something to do in between gaming events, or if you’re new to painting and looking to learn what its all about, our paint and take area is a great place to spend some time. With studio painters and even Crystal Brush judges often manning the tables, this is the perfect place for getting introduced to painting or getting that final set of tips to bring your works to a master’s level.

Paint and TakeThe paint and take area provides everything you need to start painting, and allows you to keep whatever you’re working on, great for kids to adults!

CMON Expo Guest Spotlight: Eric Lang

CMON Expo keeps inching its way closer. I can't wait for it to be here. Making his second appearance at the show will be Eric Lang, creator of such games as Quarriors, Arcadia Quest and Kaos Ball.
Plus, he's Canadian. How foreign and exotic!
<\

Source

From the post:

Eric M. Lang has a long list of games he’s either designed or consulted on, including Warhammer: Invasion, A Game of Thrones Card Game, Mutant Chronicles miniature game, and World of Warcraft, Midgard and Chaos in the Old World board games.

As such, Eric can offer an endless supply of advice for anyone interested in getting into the game design and development field, but what Eric really likes to do at CMON Expo is sit players down and show them all the ins and out of his new game Kaosball. It doesn’t hurt that while teaching Kaosball Eric tends to destroy his opponents, but who knows, maybe that’ll change this year!

Eric M. Lang is also one of the designers for Arcadia Quest, who's Kickstarter campaign has skyrocketed over the last few weeks, raising over $500,000. Arcadia Quest will be released later this year, and we will be holding demos of the game at this year's Expo!
