Capitan Games

Now that we're in September, summer's pretty much over. I know that it's really not quite done yet, officially speaking, but basically it is. As people come back from vacations and the kids head back to school, it's a good time to ramp up on some more gaming. Capitan Games is helping out by having their September Sale.
Is this week just rocketing by for anyone else, or just me?
I mean, it's already Wednesday.
Well, seeing as it is Wednesday, let's get ourselves stocked up on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today we have: Public Alpha For Cold Start Posted, How to Paint Board Game Miniatures: The Beginners Guide to Painting Board Game Miniatures Now Available, Terrible Kids Stuff - Christmas 2016 releases, Battle for the Universe Coming to Kickstarter in January, Jet Bike Construction Kit Up On Kickstarter, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm November Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, Khurasan releases two 15mm fantasy sets by Tom Meier, Final Week for The Roots of Magic On Kickstarter, Dystopian World Expansion Passes Funding Goal, Ouroboros Tales Posts New Stretch Goals, New Viking Shield Sets Available from Tabletop-Art, Brother Vinni Holiday Sale Happening Now, 15mm 1st Carlist Wars & Spanish American War (1898) back in production, and New Junk City Bases Available From Kromlech.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
Or, for those of you not in the US. Happy Wednesday!
As for me, I'm going to be busy when I get home. I need to bake another pumpkin pie, put turkey 1 into the brine bucket, speed-thaw turkey 2 (place in cold, running water for a couple hours), and make whipped cream for the pies (cream, sugar, and spices). Gonna be very busy, but should be fun. But to have enough energy for that, I need to nosh on some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today we have: New Infinity Dice Sets From Corvus Belli, New Bases Available From Micro Art Studio, BattleScribe 2.0 Released, Dungeonland PnP is now available and Kickstarter Stretch Goals are revealed, New Alien Heads From Ramshackle Games, Okumarts Games team up with GG Studios, New Releases Available From Dark Sword Miniatures, Divine Art Playing Cards up On Kickstarter, Comrades in Battle Stretch Goal Levels Lowered, Head set Multi Pack From Ramshackle Games, NPC For Hire Game Aid On Kickstarter, New Temple of Isis Bases From Tabletop-Art, Fusion Bases by Wamp Up On Kickstarter, Highway System Coming to Kickstarter, New Female Greatcoat Troops Available From Victoria Miniatures, and New Hordes Token Sets Available From Advanced Deployment.

Time has been playing weird tricks this week, I feel. The first several days flew by. Thursday took an eternity. Now, today's doing a little bit of both. I feel like it should be later than it is, so it feels like it's been a long time since this morning... but I've also gotten a ton of stuff done. So I dunno. I do know that I'm possibly going to be playing some Guild Ball this evening and then some D&D tomorrow. So that's cool. Better pack myself full of energy with some bite-sized gaming stories.

Today on the platter we have: New Imperial Knight Heads From Forge World, Knight Models Previews Suicide Squad Dice, Kromlech New Release: Legionary Shotgun, Angels and Demons join Flatminis 2D miniatures range, Shadows of Esteren Announces Partnership with Syrinscape, Talisman is Free to Play This Weekend Only, Comrades in Battle Reaches Funding Goal, 15mm Naval Crews Range is Back From Capitan Games, and Final Days for Tavern Masters Kickstarter.

Those lazy, hazy, crazy Sundays of summer. We don't have many of them left. It's already noticeably cooler here in Atlanta. You don't go outside and instantly curse.

Anyway, we've got a selection of bite-sized stories for you.

In this batch of Snippets we have: Purgatory Miniatures Previews First Model, Some Installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, Back in Business Warmodelling now is Battlemodels, Oddzial Osmy’s 3mm July Releases Arrive at PicoArmor, and Lords of the World Fantasy Miniatures Previewed.

It's another Sunday. Time for some more of the shorter, bite-sized stories that we've come across in the past couple days.

Also, yesterday during D&D, our party almost blew up the world (or at least an entire tropical island). Good times.

Anyway, for today we have: New Bad Lands Hero Previews and now EU Friendly shipping, DungeoNext terrain preview, new Fantasy releases from Scotia Grendel, Dark Sword Miniatures' Stephanie Law Masterworks Miniature range now available, Trolka in resin releasing this month for Flintloque, New Sherman Tank Accessories from Warchimera, Lead Adventure Miniatures releases Steam-Punk Ladies and Robots, Planetary Militia preview at The Ion Age, new Leather Pouch added to Alternative Civil War Kickstarter, Brigade Models Release 2mm ACW Forts, and Capitan Miniatures re-launching the former Warmodelling Catalog.

From the announcement:
Capitan Games and Battlemodels Miniatures are bringing you a new line of 45mm War of Spanish Succession models and units.
While 45mm isn't really in vogue anymore, for the longest time, it was the preferred size for miniatures, most notably from H.G. Wells' "Little Wars."
There are 13 sets in this release, encompassing standard infantry, to cavalry, to artillery, to generals to make sure all the killing goes as according to plan as it can.

From the release:
Capitan Games is offering free downloads of their 1st Carlist War Army Lists from their website. The Carlist War was the last of the Napoleonic age and was fought between two groups claiming that their candidate was the right one to take over the Spanish throne.

Divisional Commander

From the release:

These rules are designed to play battles of medium size, involving a division, or a small corps, from the whole Napoleonic era, including the British-American War of 1812, the "forgotten" Wars of Liberation in South America, and the last War of the
Napoleonic Era - the 1st Carlist War.

Divisional Commander is designed to allow players to represent historical battles or to play balanced games based on a point system that allows them also to play fictional scenarios or to run campaigns or championships.
Capitan Games Ltd has a new online shop set up for you to check out.

From the launch:

As we have said in earlier announcements and on The Miniatures Page we have opened a new company in the UK called Capitan Games Ltd. Battle Models Ltd will shortly disappear as a separate entity but, as "Battlemodels", will become the brand name for our figure ranges. However, we shall continue to offer the full range of Warmodelling figures outside Spain, where Warmodelling will continue to operate its existing business.

These changes, whilst hopefully securing a more reliable delivery service, will not affect how our existing customers interface with us.

Capitan Games Ltd. is a new structuring of Capitan Games and Battle Models Ltd. Check them out if you're into historicals.

From them to you:

The arrival of CAPITAN GAMES LTD is an exciting development on the European wargaming scene. Based in the UK, it is an amalgamation of the Spanish company, Capitan Games SL, and Britain’s Battle Models Ltd (until now the UK distributor for Warmodelling Miniatures).
