More Avanti Releases Available From Battlefront

While many focus on the Germans and the Japanese in terms of the Axis powers in WWII, let’s not forget that the Italians were part of that as well. They had quite the fighting force and engaged in actions all around Europe as well as North Africa. They’re also hitting tabletops in Flames of War with the release of the Avanti book. Well, Battlefront has some more units that you can pick up now.

New Avanti Releases Available From Battlefront

As Battlefront points out in their post, February is already halfway done. We’re just motoring our way through. They’re certainly not sitting back and relaxing. They’ve got minis to release! And that’s just what they’re letting you know about, with new Avanti releases, as well as updates about Team Yankee and a reminder about the launch of the ‘Nam website and sale.

Battlefront Launches ‘Nam Website, Has Sale on Stock

My dad was drafted for the Vietnam war. Though he never ended up in-country, he did train to drive an APC. Considering what I learned later during a Vietnam War History class that I took, I’m glad he didn’t end up over there. It probably wouldn’t’ve gone well. The Vietnam War is one that’s not often talked about in gaming circles. But Battlefront is looking to change that with ‘Nam, their minis game set during that conflict. They’ve got a new website up and running, and they’re celebrating with a sale on everything in the shop.

Monday Terrain Corner

So… it’s Monday.
Maybe we shouldn’t dwell on that, but, instead remember the games we all (hopefully) played on the weekend. Heck, my gaming started before I even left the office on Friday with a game of the Bloodborne Card Game. Then a game of Guild Ball on Saturday. Always wanting to get in more games of that. Plus, there’s always looking forward to next weekend’s games… and the terrain they’ll be using. And with that, we go to the Terrain Corner.

Today we have: Anvil Eight Previews Rhommox Faction Pylon, ShipWorks 3d Printable Ship Terrain Up on Kickstarter, Operation Alpha: SciFi Gaming Mat Available from Pwork Wargame, and Return Of The Gaming Mat From Battlefront.

Avanti is the new book coming out for Flames of War, focusing on the Italian army and their actions along the northern portions of Africa during the early ’40s. You can expect it on store shelves in just over a week. But there’s too much excitement over at the Battlefront studios, and they’re excited to be talking about the release now. You can head over to their website where they’ve got a bunch of different articles up so you can be prepped for the game’s expansion.

Thursday Terrain Corner

Well… I’m sick. Woke up this morning feeling worse than I went to bed last night. So, if you get a virus alert when you look at TGN today, just wipe it down with some Lysol and you’ll be fine. (ok, actually, if you get a virus alert when you open up TGN, lemme know because that means something’s seriously wrong O,o)
So, while I chug this orange juice, work on this bottle of Dayquil, and heat up another bowl of soup, you should check out these terrain articles.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Overpass Available From Battlefront, Heroic Maps – Modular Kit: Dry Ravine Bundle Now Available, New Pulp Era Caravan kit from Sally 4th, Brigade Models Releases New 6mm SF Buildings, and Heroic Maps – Drabdon City Sewer Now Available

Battlefront Posts Avanti Preview, Releases Update

The holidays and New Year were nice, but it’s time to get back to work. Last week and this, companies have been making their way back into the office and ramping up production once more. That includes Battlefront, who is looking forward to releasing their Avanti book for Flames of War. But that’s not the only thing they’ve got coming in the next couple months. And they’ve updated us to make sure you’re prepped.

Battlefront Posts Last Update of the Year

We’re getting to the time of year where many people head on vacation. That includes many gaming companies, so they’re posting up their last updates of the year. One such company that’s going on holiday for the holidays is Battlefront. But they’re not just heading out without giving us something to look at first. They give us a heads-up of what you can look forward to in 2018.

Battlefront Releases Game Night Kits for Flames of War

Games don’t survive without a community behind them. That’s simple fact. If it’s just scattered gamers here and there, a game might limp along, but it’s when those gamers get together on a regular basis that games thrive. Well, Battlefront is looking to help communities get together for an evening of Flames of War fun with their Game Night Kits.

Team Yankee: Stripes Releasing Now

Team Yankee looks at what WWIII might look like as the forces of NATO go against the Soviets on the fields of Europe. This week, the Stripes book came out, adding to the American forces. This new book can be picked up now. Next week, we’ll be seeing new versions of several American units, including Harriers, Abrams tanks, and AA options.

Battlefront Posts a Look Inside the Stripes Book for Team Yankee

WWIII is not currently happening. Let’s do our best to keep it that way, eh? I don’t really want Team Yankee to turn into a modern game, as opposed to just post-modern-sci-fi. So, for the meantime, these are just figurative, uh, figures. And in the Stripes book, Battlefront expands the U.S. options. Take a look at what you’ll get, and a bit more about items in this book.

Battlefront Posts New Force Org Charts for Flames of War and Team Yankee

As war goes on, the organization charts for the various armies can change dramatically. As the military heads see what is and isn’t working on the battlefield, they will adjust accordingly. Same goes for the generals in charge of minis games armies. Battlefront has posted up new Force Organization Charts for the Late War era in Flames of War, as well as for Team Yankee.

Monday Terrain Corner

The Monday after a long weekend… I mean, I know many of you out there love what you do for a living (as I certainly do), but there’s always just a bit of “erf…” about the Monday after a long weekend. An extra smack of the snooze button. An extra long shower. An extra cup of coffee. You know how it goes. Eventually, we’ll make it back around to the weekend. But, in the meantime, let’s make sure that when we do get to game again, we’ll have some good-looking gaming tables.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Orc Wall Gate Available To Order From Bits of War, Battlefront’s 2018 Premium Property Pre-order Deal Happening Now, Heroic Maps – Foxtail Moor: Wyvern Cave Now Available, Acheson Kongo Africa Kickstarter Funded: Unlocking Stretch Goals, and New Tech Coffin and Supply Box Available From Micro Art Studio.

Monday Terrain Corner

It’s a frosty, frigid morning here in Atlanta. I know most Southerners think that anything below 60F is “freezing” but it literally was freezing this morning (as evidenced by having to scrape frost off my windshield before driving into the office). So while there might be frost on the pumpkins, it’s still Halloween Eve. And two terrain companies are having sales so great, they’re scary! (ok, not really scary, but I don’t get to use such a cheesy line too often). Battlefront is also talking about their new pre-order terrain.

Anyway, we’ve got: Terrains4Games Halloween Sale, Pwork Wargames Halloween Sale, and Battlefront to Launch 2018 Premium Property Pre-order Deal.

Terrain Corner

It’s a rainy Monday here in Atlanta. I actually love the rain. If there’s one thing I’m annoyed at, it’s that it wasn’t raining yesterday where I could stop and appreciate it more, as opposed to, y’know, driving through it to and from work. Ah well, not everything is perfect in life. But we try where we can. Just like how we try and make our gaming tables look perfect. And that’s what we’re here to help with today.

In the Terrain Corner we have: Adventure Forge 3D Map Maker Up On Kickstarter, Heroic Maps – The Lich’s Lair Now Available, Manorhouse Workshop Forgotten Halls and NoLands Comics at Essen, and Battlefront Offering Free Gaming Mats to Gaming Clubs.

Armies of Late War Deals for Flames of War From Battlefront

They say that necessity is the mother of invention. Well, during war, there’s a lot of necessity to make better weapons than the opponents. It’s sort of a life-or-death type of thing. As such, the gear that the warring factions were using at the start of WWII versus what they were using during the end of it can vary widely. If you’re a Flames of War player, you’ll want to check out these Late War deals that Battlefront has going on.

It’s great when companies give you new things to keep your game fresh. For Team Yankee, that’s Firestorm: Red Thunder. It’s the first part in what will be an ongoing campaign. Sign up with either the forces of NATO or the Warsaw Pact and vie for control of the plains of Europe.

Red Thunder For Team Yankee Releases Tomorrow

There’s a new book coming out for Team Yankee. It’s called Red Thunder, and as you’d expect from them, they’re having a whole day dedicated to features for it. That day, by the way, is tomorrow. It starts pretty early, too. I mean, for many of us, it’s this afternoon, since it’s beginning on New Zealand time.

Monday Terrain Corner

Well, we knew it was inevitable. The weekend has come to an end and we’re back at the start of the work week. Though, at least for me, this is no ordinary work week. CMON Expo is this upcoming weekend. If you’ll be in the Atlanta area, you should stop by and say, “hi.”
But before we get to that, we still have our regularly-scheduled posts to make. That includes today’s Terrain Corner.

As such, we have: Sci-Fi Scenery Added to TerrainCrate Kickstarter, Large Desert Building Available From Battlefront, Terminus Segments modular mat and District 5 Catwalks Available From Micro Art Studio, Heroic Maps’ St Olfryc’s Priory Bundle Now Available, and Cyber City Game Mat Available From Pwork Wargame.

Thursday Terrain Corner

I hope you’re excited for the weekend. I’m excited for the weekend (ok, you know I’m always excited for the weekend). Mostly because it looks like some figures I ordered a while ago will be here this weekend. Woo! Always happy to get new toy soldiers. But if I’m going to be using them, I should make sure my gaming table looks good, too. So let’s take a look at some terrain articles.

Today in the Terrain Corner we have: Battlefield in a Box: Desert Escarpments Available From Battlefront, Darkburg: Pwork Wargames Gaming Mat Now Available, and Battlefield in a Box: Extra Large Dune Available From Battlefront.

Battlefront Features Afrika Korps Rifle Platoon For Flames of War

All those tanks and armored vehicles running around in North Africa still required regular troopers to go along with them. Tanks might be formidable, but they can’t do everything, and your average rifle-carrying soldier is still an invaluable part of the military effort. In this Flames of War article, Battlefront is featuring their Afrika Korps Rifle Platton.

Battlefront Features Panzer III Tank Platoon For Flames of War

The Panzer III is the quintessential German tank. Used in pretty much every theater during the war (at least where Germany was), it made up around 2/3 of their tank arsenal. What can you really say? It was able to get where it needed and had a decent gun on it. Now, you’ll be able to fill your Flames of War armies with them.

Battlefront Features Crusader Armoured Troop For Flames of War

It’s not just really thick armor that can make an armored vehicle safe. If your opponent can’t get a bead on you due to your speed, that’ll also help you stay live. That’s the philosophy behind the Crusader. It was quick and able to stay ahead of the panzers looking to target it. They were used to help protect the flanks of bigger formations. Now, they can do the same for your games of Flames of War.

Battlefront Features Grant Armoured Troop For Flames of War

During the fighting in North Africa, the British needed a tank that could match up to the German’s panzers. They found that in the form of the M3 Grant. Its gun and armor made it equal to its opponents in many ways. The one issue is that the tank was rather tall. So it was kind of hard to hide it. But still, they worked well. And a troop box of them will be making their way to your Flames of War tables.

Battlefront Features 17 pdr Anti-Tank Troop For Flames of War

The engagements in North Africa during WWII consisted of many different types of vehicles in the wide-open spaces of that desert land. With German panzer tanks around, it took a big gun to deal with them. That came in the form of the 17-pounder. Unfortunately, the original carriage couldn’t quite handle them. The remedy? Simply stick the gun on a 25-pounder carriage. That should work.

Well, after what seemed like two Thursdays in a row, we have made our way, finally, to Friday. And I, for one, welcome our new almost-weekend overlords. Battlefront Features Honey Armored Troop For Flames of War

I don’t know about you, but it seems that trying to use honey for armor wouldn’t really work out too well, especially in the desert. I mean, it’d get hot and run all over everywhere. *gets a note on my desk* Oooh, Honey is just the name of the tank.
… That makes a lot more sense, then. Anyway, if you’d like a whole bunch of Honey tanks in one, Battlefront has the set for you.

Battlefront Features Afrika Korps: Tiger Heavy Tank Platoon For Flames of War

Having big, formidable tanks in your army was a good way to win battles during WWII. Some of the biggest and toughest were Germany’s Tigers. They were originally going to be available for the Battle of El Alamein, but didn’t quite make it there. They did end up in Tunisia later, though. They can also be in your armies for Flames of War, since they’re available from Battlefront.
