2-player starters. They're arguably one of the best ways to get a new player into a game, even more than single-army starter sets. I started my career in minis gaming with a 2-player starter, just like probably millions of you out there. Well, Age of Tyrants has added pledge levels that offer 2-player starter set options for their Kickstarter campaign.
There's a couple different starter sets you can go with, as you can see. Along with that, they've opened it up so you can buy individual stands for your army as an add-on. That way, you can customize your forces a bit more for just what you want to do.
There's still 6 days to get in on the campaign if you want. They're over their funding goal and working through stretch goals now.

Ah, Sunday. For me, at least, the relaxing day of the week. Sure, there's chores to do like laundry and cooking for the week, but overall, it's a day to just relax a bit. Also, I'm told there's some major sporting event-thing going on today. Ok, I know it's the Super Bowl. But I'm more of a "hockey" guy than a "football" guy. But hey, if you are going to watch the Super Bowl, nothing goes better than a bunch of bite-sized snacks.
Speaking of bite-sized, here's some bite-size stories to munch on.

Check out the new video and head to the kickstarter project page to pledge and support the game.
The latest addition to our Circle of Chaos is the Rhinotaur. Its a huge new model from talented sculptor Jason Wiebe. And what a monstrosity it is! The model is huge, over 90mm tall.
Please check out the update on the KS campaign for more details.
The Dryden Heavy Destroyer miniature is available for sale. This resin miniature is the first of the new Colayth Guard figures from the tabletop miniatures game Legends of Kalidasia.
Begin assembling your Colayth Guard fleet with this main line warship figure. It measures about 2.75” by 1.5” and includes the acrylic flight stand sized for its matching Kalidasia game token.
Here is a preview of three of the finished figures that I will be part of a Kickstarter campaign at the end of February from Mountain Miniatures. I will be posting some more wip and finished pics on the run up to the campaign starting.

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! ... is what day it is. At least for me as I'm typing this, anyway.
But "fun with time zones" will have to wait, because right now we've got a couple of bite-sized stories to give you in our Sunday Snippets feature. So let's get to it.
Today we have: Age of Tyrants Funds, Khurasan releases 1980s Motor Rifles support weapons, Another World Miniatures Releases Selene Redux Mini, Hero Lab Launches D&D 5th Edition SRD, and Polyversal Kickstarter now EU Friendly.
We've unlocked quite a lot of stuff on the Kickstarter, just wondering if you could make some news articles regarding our most recent updates and unlocks?
One of the big bits of feedback we had was that people wanted something quick and easy to select for their pledge levels - John sat down and worked out, with Mark, some armies that would be great for getting started. We've also unlocked a whole load of Kickstarter Exclusive Heroes and also the CLAU units which were so popular in Urban War, this game's predecessor.
We are very pleased to release the latest set of Soviets for our Late Cold War range, the support elements for a mid-late 1980s Motor Rifle platoon. Contained in the set are 23 figures plus some additional parts for their weapons:
-- three PKM machine gun teams in three different pose-sets -- two AGS-17 teams -- one 120mm heavy mortar team -- one AT-7 ATGM team -- one MANPAD team with SA-14 -- three squad member figures with RPG-18)
There's also a motor rifle infantry deal -- the above set plus the basic rifle platoon at a reduced price. Available now.
Lone Wolf Development, creator of the ENnie award-winning, tabletop gaming accessories Hero Lab® and Realm Works®, announced the release of D&D 5th Edition SRD support for their character management software – Hero Lab.
“Hero Lab is already the go-to character management tool for many RPGs, and the D&D 5th Edition SRD will be no different,” said President Rob Bowes. “Gamers can quickly create characters and even add their own material. Even better, DMs can build monsters, create NPCs, weave them into an encounter, and manage the combat – all in one convenient place. This level of support is unparalleled, and we’re thrilled to bring it to D&D.”
Hero Lab includes everything in the official SRD, such as races and their traits, character classes and class features, spells, equipment, magic items, and other character creation necessities. This initial release offers character creation support, and DM-specific tools, including all monsters and mechanics, will be incorporated throughout the month of February.
Hero Lab support for D&D 5th Edition SRD is available on Windows, Mac, and iPad. Current Hero Lab users can add it to their existing license for $20, while new users can purchase it for only $29.99. This price includes all the DM tools and access to community-created content.
Collins Epic Wargames has heard your comments and requests and made a few adjustments to their kickstarter. New rewards have been added, add-ons have been added, and, most importantly, certain rewards involving shipping are now EU friendly meaning customers in the EU can save significantly on shipping and avoid import duties.

It's been my general notice that the smaller the miniature in question, the larger scale battle that the figures are used to fight out. So while you could play with a small skirmish force consisting of 6mm models, it seems like that's just not what most people are wanting to do. They want those huge battles with massive armies of tanks and infantry and artillery and all that fun kind of stuff (I remember watching games of Epic 40k played on 8'x8' tables in order to accommodate all the figures). Well, if that's what you want, then Age of Tyrants is for you. The new sci-fi miniatures game is up on Kickstarter now.
The initial launch of the game comes with four factions to choose from, each with slightly different play-styles. Models fit onto a standardized 50mm square base. Four bases form a platoon and four platoons make a company. That company is the basic starting size for the game. After you get your feet wet with that, you can then dive on into something deeper. Stretch goals include all sorts of specialized units such as recon, snipers, airborne units, tank hunters, and such like that. They're planning an online army-creation tool to help you build your forces.
The campaign just launched and is quickly rising up the numbers towards funding. They're set to run for another 28 days.

Hello there, Saturday! Nice to see you could stop by. Do come in, have a seat, and make yourself at home.
I hope your Saturday is going nicely. I've got baking to do. Cookies, brownies, and maybe some other stuff. We'll see.
But that's me. As for you, it's time to get you some review articles to chew on.
Today's articles feature: Fischkrieg Space Mat Starfield, the Pandemic App, They Come Unseen, Age of Tyrants, Thunderbirds, Jaipur, Hengist, Animal Upon Animal: Crest Climbers, Castles of Mad King Ludwig, Pharaoh’s Gulo Gulo, Expedition: Famous Explorers, Dragon Farkle, Ghostbusters: The Board Game, Codenames, Discworld: Ankh-Morpork, Subterfuge (iOS version), Rome: Rise to Power, Warhammer Quest the Adventure Card Game, and Automobiles.
The Pandemic App is a digital representation of this now classic cooperative board game. You can play it and control all the players or pass and play with your friends.
Commander Andy Benford was the living and breathing embodiment of Tom Clancy novels while many of us were still cutting our war gaming teeth on the likes of Risk, Stratego and Axis & Allies. (Okay, maybe also Panzer Blitz if you weren’t a total wimp.) Benford saw service aboard diesel-electric submarines, a nuclear-powered hunter-killer submarine and a nuclear-powered Polaris ballistic missile submarine, all during the Cold War. He retired from service in 1993.
He also designed a game, They Come Unseen by Osprey Publishing.
Who better than a retired Cold War submariner to design a game that simulates the cat and mouse interactions between Soviet destroyers and NATO submarines in the stormy, icy waters of the Barents Sea? They Come Unseen does just that with palpably tense and exciting game play. That is when you’re not trying to clarify a rule in the 10-page FAQ.
I think I mentioned Age of Tyrants a while back – a forthcoming 6mm scale battle game set in the Urban War universe and designed by a friend of mine: Mark Brendan. Well Mark popped over this week to run through the game with me in its current beta format, and we did a good bit of tinkering to help it along
Leigh! Thank you for joining us for this review of the Thunderbirds board game, although as you’ve never seen an episode of 1960s TV series you won’t be allowed to talk. You can nod along, though, and say things like "Wow!".
Jaipur is a great gateway game. My girlfriend is new to modern board games, so I’m always on the lookout for easy-to-play games that work well for two players. It doesn’t hurt if the game has some elements of more complex board games, but not enough to be intimidating to someone new to this insanely beautiful hobby of mine. If you’re in a similar situation, then I recommend finding a copy of Jaipur.
In Hengist, players are trying to accumulate the most treasure over the course of the game. Each turn, a player can take an action with each of their three raiding groups. This usually involves moving around the board into positions to raid villages. However, the most direct paths to the best treasure will be obscured, so the obvious path might actually lead to the worst treasure. Through experimentation and the use of spies, players can find the path to the best treasure and increase their wealth.
In Animal Upon Animal: Crest Climbers, players are trying to get rid of all the animals they start the game with by stacking them on a mountain. Each turn, players will roll a die that determines how many animals they can stack this turn, and possibly in what manner.
Take care though, because if you knock animals of the stack, you’ll have to take them into your herd. Be the first player to rid yourself of your animals and you’ll be the king of stacking.
Your main objective in Castles of Mad King Ludwig is to build the most successful castle. Success is defined through secret and public objectives, as well as the whim of every player’s grand vision. Every round, one player will be designated as the Master Builder. The Master Builder’s most important duty is setting the prices for the various castle rooms that are available to be constructed. In turn order, players will choose which room they’d like to construct and must pay the Master Builder the appropriate amount. After all other players have constructed their rooms, the Master Builder can select from the remaining rooms and this time pays the appropriate amount to the general supply.
Pharaoh’s Gulo Gulo is a dexterity adventure game for two to six players. Players try to remove boulders from the boulder trap without knocking over the pharaoh’s staff or knocking other boulders out in order to move forward along the path. The first player to make it to the mummy’s chamber and defeat the final trap lifts the mummy’s curse and wins the game.
In Expedition: Famous Explorers, you are in control of several locations on the world map. Your goal is to push the three ongoing expeditions through your locations which will score you points. But that’s not all: You also want to keep the expeditions from passing through locations controlled by your opponents so you can deprive them of said points.
You may be familiar with this sort of dice game, and the structure here doesn’t stray too far from the norm. You roll a handful of dice, set aside some that give you points, and then decide either to push your luck and roll again (knowing you might fail and lose everything you’ve accrued), or play it safe and lock in your score (all the while knowing you could have scored a LOT more if you just kept rolling).
Ghostbusters: The Board Game is an adventure board game for 1 – 4 players. They are the professionals in busting ghosts and closing gates to the Spirit World! This game is customizable, cooperative and it has high re-playability. It provides unique illustrations and figures based on the original work and designs of Dan Schoening, who is the artist of Ghostbusters comic book original series. Each Ghostbuster has his own role and unique abilities which can be gained by getting experience. The game has modes for different levels of players. Now it is your move to save the world from creepy ghosts!
Codenames was published in 2015 by Czech Games Edition. The game was designed by Vlaada Chvátil, the renowned Czech game designer famous for Through the Ages, Galaxy Trucker, Bunny Bunny Moose Moose, Space Alert, Tash-Kalar, Dungeon Lords, Dungeon Petz, and Mage Knight.
Discworld: Ankh-Morpork was published in 2011 by Treefrog Games. The game was designed by Martin Wallace. Illustrations in the game were done by Peter Dennis, Paul Kidby, Ian Mitchell, and Bernard Pearson.
Discworld: Ankh-Morpork belongs to the Discworld games family. This series is based on Terry Pratchett’s Discworld Universe. It also includes Clacks: A Discworld Board Game, Guards! Guards! A Discworld Boardgame, The Witches: A Discworld Game, Watch Out: Discworld Board Game, and Koom Valley Thud.

Well, as I sit here, assembling The Horus Heresy set, working on articles related to it for next week and beyond, I think about other games and other review articles.
Oh hey, here's a whole bunch of them in one, convenient spot for you. It's today's Review Roundup.
In this installment we have articles on: Age of Tyrants, Mansions of Madness, More Cash ‘n More Guns,DC Dice Masters: War of Light, The King is Dead, Fury of Dracula, Roll for the Galaxy: Ambition, Two Rooms and a Boom, Aura, T.I.M.E. Stories, WWE Superstar Showdown, and Pathfinder Adventure Card Game - Wrath of the Righteous.
Something stirs in the West ... Something huge ... I take my sauce to this sentence contained in Lord of the Rings (JRR Tolkien for the uneducated and NOT: the book is not released after the film but a good fifty years before thank you to revise your classics low floor moviegoers) who spoke of Mordor (well there is but it was not my fucking rot dramatic introduction slamming I like to do long brackets from the outset !!) to talk about a future project that seems figurinistique promised a real success.
As an investigator, you believe you have seen it all: grisly murders, seemingly unsolvable mysteries, and all the horrible nightmares that comes along with these things. Nothing surprises you anymore, and you would be shocked if you found something that did. But perhaps, this new job you have taken is a bit more than you can handle?
In Mansions of Madness, you play the part of the investigator, sent to explore a seemingly normal crime in a seemingly normal house. But things aren’t always as they seem. It appears that the unseen forces in the darkness are working against you. Not only are you unsure if you will solve the mystery, but will you even escape the house alive?
So you opened up your copy of Cash & Guns and you were pretty happy with all the contents; as advertised, you found both a stack of cash and a pile of guns.
But maybe, just maybe, you looked in that box and you said to yourself, “Really? This is it?”
I’ve got great news for you, stranger. There’s a new box in town, and once again it brings exactly what it advertises:
War of Light is the second DC Comics Dice Masters set. It revolves around the various Lantern Corps. It also includes the Teen Titans. Yep. There are a handful of popular characters and villains recurring from the first DC set, Justice League. However, here of course each of those is associated with its role in the War of Light story arc. The general mechanics and game play remain the same as with other sets and IPs across the system. You can reference our review of the original Marvel Dice Masters sets for the basic rules.
Being a gamer it also gives you an ideal time to break out the occasional party game and see if you can convert some non-gamers. This is always somewhat tricky to me because there’s typically no grey area with party games. They usually make the party epic or bust it up in my opinion.
So, given my boom or bust party game gauge, we look at the social, party game: Two Rooms and a Boom. This game breaks the party people in two teams spread between two rooms who try to blow the other team’s leader away. Does Two Rooms and a Boom make your party night epic or was it just another party game dud? Read on!
Two Rooms and a Boom is a social party game for 6-30 players runs between 7-20 minutes per play. Two Rooms and a Boom plays best with 12+ players.
More often than not, I look for games that provide me a thematic experience, with a rich story and setting and the ability to interact with both. However, there are also times when all I want is to play something abstract and strategic.
Some of my earliest gaming memories are of playing Uno with friends and family. There’s an elegance and simplicity there that sometimes I yearn for. To meet that want, I was interested in trying out Aura by Michael Orion and WhoaWorthy Games, a newcomer to the card game scene. Are Aura’s colors vibrant and vivid, or do they take on a dull and muted pallor? Read on to find out!
Aura is an abstract strategy card game for 2-4 players, that plays in about 30 minutes. Aura plays well with any number of players.
It's time for another of 2015's most breathtaking releases, and that's not a euphemism for a fart. Rather, T.I.M.E. Stories is a whole new kind of co-op board game. Your team will complete each time travel scenario in a blistering five hours and then it's time to buy a whole new deck, making this the most expensive game we've ever covered. Great Scott!
On the other hand, the only thing Quinns loves more than the movie Primer are board game expansions. What happens when an immovable force meets an unstoppable object? Tune in and find out.
Wrath of the Righteous is the latest base set in the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game series. It follows the same formula as previous sets with a few new additions.
As we tend to do after Friday, we are now deposited here on Saturday. That means all day getting the chance to do some gaming. It also means we have our Review Roundup. So without further ado...This we
As we tend to do after Friday, we are now deposited here on Saturday. That means all day getting the chance to do some gaming. It also means we have our Review Roundup. So without further ado...
This week we have stories on: Rory’s Story Cubes: Batman, King's Pouch, Space Movers 2201, Warehouse 51, Neon City Rumble, Viceroy, Machina Arcana, 7 Wonders: Duel, Age of Tyrants Junkers and Viridians, The Minecraft Card Game, Battle Foam P.A.C.K 720 Molle Army Bag, Thunder Alley, Halo: Fleet Battles, and Starfighter.
Rory’s Story Cubes: Batman is a cooperative storytelling game. All nine dice are rolled and players take turns narrating the unique story that the group creates. The only rule is that all nine images shown on the dice must appear as elements in your story. The box includes some suggested ideas on how to accomplish this, but these are only suggestions, not rules. You are free to play however you want.
As a player in the world of King’s Pouch, you are the leader of a castle city hoping to become the ultimate leader of the land (i.e. have the most prestige points at the end of the game). There are three avenues you can pursue in order to achieve this goal: military strength, religious piety, and political favor. Each strategy will require the construction of specialized buildings, but the real backbone of your empire will the be the citizens that you manage to attract.
Space Movers 2201 is a cooperative, sci-fi adventure game set in the distant future (I forget which year). As crewmembers aboard the Liberty led by its dashing captain, Eli, you’ll jump from system to system delivering questionable cargo while trying to achieve various objectives – all while evading the oppressively watchful eye of the Universal Oversight.
N30N City RUMBLE (NCR) is a two-player “beat ’em up” card game that simulates 5-on-5 tag team combat between mutant martial artists in a radically dystopian 90s setting!
Each turn, you’ll trade for cards at a pawn shop, tag your fighters on and off the tarmac, and then engage the opponent using martial arts, super-moves, and a wide variety of items, all of which are inspired by classic arcade games. Knock out all of your opponent’s fighters until only yours remain to win the game!
Viceroy is a board game of bidding and resource management set in the fantasy universe of the famous Russian CCG Berserk. As the players struggle for control over the world of Laar, they recruit a variety of allies and enact various laws. These cards allow players to develop their state’s military and magical might, increase their authority, and get precious gems they need to continue expanding their nation.
As I previously mentioned in my review of Rise of Cthulhu, I love the Cthulhu Mythos. So, when I was offered the chance to review Machina Arcana, a co-op board game that mixes steampunk & my favorite Lovecraftian nightmares, I jumped at the chance.
Now, that being said, I have to be honest and admit that I don’t know much about steampunk but I did go into this review with an open mind mainly because I understand that the Mythos cross and compliment many genres and themes. So how well does Machina Arcana pair these two genres into a horror game you should to add to your collection? Read on!
Machina Arcana is a cooperative game for 1-4 players runs between 40 and 120 minutes per player (depending on the mode). Machina Arcana plays best with 1-4 players.
Classical cock-blocking simulator 7 Wonders was one of the first boxes we ever recommended on SU&SD. We couldn't believe it. How could a game could be so clever, so beautiful, and support 2 to 7 players with no downtime?
Today, Paul and Quinns have reunited to review 7 Wonders: Duel. A brand-new 2 player game of the same old ancient conflicts.
Have the boys still got what it takes? Or will history... forget them?
For the Upcoming Kickstarter Age of Tyrants the Overlord John Robertson has sent me two pre-production miniatures for the Viridian and Junker forces. Incidentally also the armies I want to start.
The tanks are manufactured by Prodos Games and come in 6mm scale resin casts. I received flawless castings with the only quibble being the two resin addons for the Viridian tank (sat dish and light). John is already looking into options for this. Personally I have put in the sat dish as a communication symbol but will leave out the light for now.
I’ve been playing Minecraft on the Xbox 360 — and now the Xbox One — for several years now, and that’s saying something, because I’m not an 8-year-old. Neither is my friend, Chris, who is 50 years old, and with whom I’ve spent countless hours online exploring, building, exploding and falling to our deaths in Mojang’s less-than-visually-stunning virtual sandbox environment.
As a fan of Minecraft and a board game geek (see what I did there?), I just had to try Mojang’s Minecraft Card Game. Note that the name of the game includes a question mark. The actual name of the game is Minecraft Card Game?, just to make writing and reading about it confusing. But I get it. I think. The name is perhaps the anticipated reply when your tell your friends on game night that you’ll be playing a Minecraft card game. Your friends inevitably will clarify and say, “Minecraft Card Game?”
Yes, Minecraft Card Game? (Man I hate that question mark, so hereafter I leave it out.)
Welcome to our review of the P.A.C.K 720 Molle Army Bag from Battle Foam, a company well known for their products aimed at safely storing and transporting wargaming miniatures. Battle Foam kindly sent us the case in this review so we could try it out for ourselves, and tell us that this bag has been designed for airport travel and meets all FAA regulations for carryon luggage. This is great news for anyone needing to travel to tournaments or take other trips with their armies.
An interesting feature of the P.A.C.K. 720 is the molle system, which allows you to attach further pockets and pouches to this bag, customizing it to fit your specific storage and transportation needs. The P.A.C.K 720 including the standard load out of foam is priced at £135.60 (or $174.99).
We take a look at the racing board game, Thunder Alley, by Jeff & Carla Horger. Distributed by GMT Games. Thunder Alley is for 2-7 players, age 10+ and takes about 90 minutes per game.

We continue on with the post-Gen Con week's work. Though I was able to keep up with a lot of things, obviously, things are going to fall behind in some areas. I'm almost out of the mountain of e-mails I'd gotten over the weekend. If I've not replied to you yet, don't worry, I will. There's just a lot to sort through.
At the moment, though, it's sorting through a bunch of bite-sized stories.

Hi everyone! My name is Gary and I'm the creator of Fablestone Dice. And this Kickstarter campaign is for the first ever production run of my original dice set called Bone Origins.
One of my favorite aspects of gaming in a fantasy world is the collection of rare treasures and valuable loot! Often these objects have a fascinating back story, perhaps even one we make up ourselves.
I got thinking, wouldn't it be cool and immersive if the dice we used were just that… curious items that could have actually been discovered on one of our dungeon crawls.
You can now use your collection of Warhammer High Elves miniatures to play Warthrone thanks to this new approved list.
Warthrone approved army lists, are created by fans, and sent to us for testing and approval. The approved army lists can be used in any game, event or tournament (official and unofficial) of Warthrone. These lists can be an adaptation of existing armies from other games, or completely invented armies, I will welcome all submissions!
We are very pleased to release our latest range of modern Middle Eastern figurines in 15mm -- these are Middle Eastern irregulars. They're extremely useful to represent fighters in conflicts over the past 30+ years, including Iraqi insurgents and IS fighters.
There are threes sets -- fighters with Russian rifles, fighters with US rifles (supplied with them, as are some of the Free Syrian Army fighters, or having taken them over, as IS has from the Iraqi Army), and finally squad command and weapons (two leaders, two RPGs and two RPKs).

Hi, Everyone! My name is Adam Daulton and I’m the designer of Ninja Camp! I live in Indianapolis, Indiana with my beautiful (and gamer) wife Krista and our three daughters ages 6, 4, & 1. I grew up in Indiana, lived in Iowa for 6 years, and now have been back in the Hoosier state for the past 8 years.
Guten tag! Mein name ist Andrew Sallwasser. I’m one of the co-founders of Steamboat Gothic Studio. I’m an artist/designer based out of St. Louis, Missouri where I work both as a professional artist working in simulations, and as an amateur game developer involved within the thriving St. Louis indie community. When I’m not playing games or making them you can usually find me either brewing beer or cooking with it. Just about to get started on a Marzen so it’ll be ready by Oktoberfest, seemed appropriate.
Hello, everyone! My name is Matt Graff, and I’m an art director and designer at Adidas in Portland, Oregon. I’m passionate about designing, about creating, and about problem-solving. I feel I have equal tendencies towards creativity/spontaneity/designing and organization/problem-solving/logic. That skill set has served me well in the advertising and design field, and I think those skills also apply well to playing and creating board games.

Wednesday is once again upon us, dear TGN readers. We've been having a busy week at the office. I'm working on a few review articles that're coming up, and yesterday we shot a new unboxing video.
But that's as may-be. We've also collected various bite-sized stories and present them to you now.
This batch has: Okumarts Games releases Star Sailors for White Star, Two New Cowboys Added to Steam Horses Kickstarter Line Up, New Skirmish Sangin Scenario Free to Download, New Installments of The Fiver from The Meeple Mechanic, The Last Days for The Last Spike on Kickstarter, Heer46 Announces Upcoming Indiegogo Campaign, Space Goblin Campaigner free during June at The Ion Age, New Aegis Suit Satin Varnish from The Army Painter, Celestial Knight by Kabuki Models: WIP, Age of Tyrants website launched, Golem Miniatures Launches Indiegogo Campaign, Pedion Modular Battlefields Kickstarter Going Into Stretch Goals, New Range rulers for WWII armies from Warchimera, New Orc Flying Ace from Kromlech, Manorhouse Workshop Update #29 – Modular Underground Project – First Pieces in Hard Plastic, and Deep-Cut Studio releases new gaming mat for futuristic football.
This supplement is designed to introduce a new player character class into your White Star (or White Box: Swords & Wizardry) campaigns. A Star Sailor is a “magical girl” trope often found in classic Japanese anime and manga, but with a science fiction twist. Star Sailors guard the universe from the evil Gloom: extra-dimensional invaders with a talent for destruction. There are new rules for character creation, mascot sidekicks, special powers and abilities as well as write-ups for several adversaries and monsters.
This month's free scenario from Skirmish Sangin is now up on the Skirmish Sangin Blog. Sweep & Clear covers a typical action of a German Panzergrenadier unit in Afghanistan. The German contribution to ISAF forces in Afghanistan is often overlooked and we hope this scenario will prove a worthy challenge for the players.
Stay tuned for next month's release and more news as we lead up to Historicon 2015 in Fredericksburg, Virginia in July.
Hello again! My name is Steve Ewoldt. I’m an architect / game designer from Portland, OR. In addition to running my own small office, I draw, paint, design and build furniture (seriously, you should see my modern toy box “the MODbox”).
Hello! My name is Paul Cosca, and I am the owner of Brikenbrak Games. My day job is customer service, but my other hobbies are all about creation and games. My background is in live theatre, and I still do that when I can. I also love to play games (currently playing The Last of Us, no spoilers!), write, and make music. I live in Montana with my awesome wife, who joins me on all these crazy adventures.
Hi, my name is Przemys?aw ?wierczy?ski and I’m an architect and graphic designer and a bit of musician from Poland. Fascinated by astronomy and architecture, love science fiction movies, sport and homemade burgers.
Well, my current game on Kickstarter is Exoplanets – a medium-light game, where players create their own planetary system on the table. This is my first board game which is complete and going to be published. Project took about 2 years from a sketch of an idea to a complete product ready to sell.
Hello! We’re the Mach Brothers (Albert, Ed, and Kevin). We’re located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We’re all engineers by day and board game designers by night. We spend a lot of time playing board games! Aside from gaming, we enjoy exploring and discovering new things in the SF Bay Area!
Our game design career started as a hobby a few years ago. We wanted to design a fast-paced, interactive and strategic board game. We achieved this goal with Vikings of Dragonia.
Today we got to the top of Kickstarter Pass. The Last Spike is funded and it will get shipped to you in September. There is, of course, still time to back this game, perhaps a second copy for your best friend. Or a spare for your holiday cabin. I'm biased of course, but I'm pretty sure this game will be a first edition classic.
Is the first stretch goal (dice bag) possible? To get to $15,000 will take a surge, but a runaway train is always possible. Please tell two friends.
this week i will start my indiegogo Kampagne for german Elite Infanterie in 28 mm. Here you see the first Picture. You can find more Infos and Picture here.
A new month and a new free miniature automatically with every order placed at The Ion Age. IMP22 Malig Campaigner, a Space Goblin character laden down with weapons and equipment. Great fun! 15mm scale white metal for the next four weeks. To learn more and see more plus the latest update from us click through. Thanks.
Our popular Anti-Shine Matt Varnish is getting a new friend: Aegis Suit Satin Varnish.
The new spray varnish is the latest addition to the innovative range of Colour Primer sprays helping gamers get their armies painted fast...
The AEGIS SUIT Satin Varnish will protect any tabletop or role-playing miniature & model from the wear and tear of the battlefield. Unlike the ANTI-SHINE Matt Varnish developed for Quickshade, the AEGIS SUIT will leave a slight satin finish on your models and is ultra protective on any acrylic surface.
A brand new WIP for Kabuki Models' new Celestial Knight! Here it is with all his parts and accessories! This will be the last Knight of Legend of Kabuki Models.
Well folks it’s been a long road, with lots of stops and starts along the way, but it gives me enormous pleasure to announce that the Age of Tyrants website is now live.
Over the coming weeks we will expand the menus available as well as adding lots of content in the run up to announcing the launch of our Kickstarter campaign. In this offering we’ve got details on the World of Age of Tyrants as well as introducing the Age of Tyrants Team with their preponderance of facial hair! Additionally our newsletter sign up is running and our Forums are now open, it would be great if you folks would sign up and introduce yourself, we’d very much like to meet you.
Yashamaru's 3D sculpt is now complete. Have a look and share your comments and feedbacks with us! The miniature will be produced thanks to this Kickstarter and you can get it with any pledge level including a Meta-Human.
Remember that Crimson Dragons Japanese paratroopers will be the next stretch goal, since they're the most voted option in the poll opened on War of Wonders Kickstarter support page.
Continue supporting this Kickstarter and get your Japanese wave!
Golem Miniatures is born ! The "small" weighs 1 ton, is 2 meters .... and its cavernous cry surprised more than a midwife at the maternity !
For our very first campaign, we offer you to finance the edition of three pretty chicks. Eva, Lucy and Jess are available in three versions: naked, in swimsuit and fully dressed.
(Note: there are some “naked” female mini through the link, just in case that might be a bit risque for your workplace.)
To spice up this first campaign we also offer you to join in a small tombola. One or some tickets would be assigned to every pledger and you could win a painted version (by a Golden Demon Winner)!
Wow! Peopled flocked to the Pedion Kickstarter, and it got funded in just 55 hours! Of course, the fun it's just starting! If you have followed my posts here, you know that I love to design new things and expand on ideas; so, it's time for Stretch Goals. But nothing will happen if more people don't support us The first Stretch Goal is to produce different themes of the Pre-painted Tiles, and specifically a Winter theme and a Sand/Desert theme. We are less than £2800 away, so help us make it happen!
This Stretch goal will allow supporters to choose to have their Reward Set of Pedion tiles painted in a different theme than the original "Spring Green" presented in most pictures. The Tile types remain the same; but if the supporters choose so, they can have them covered in "heavy" snow, or in golden sand. This Upgrade will actually be without any extra cost (apart from upgrading any forest tiles to "Oasis" tiles, since they will also include a pond at a small extra cost).
It is also time to introduce our first "SOCIAL" Stretch Goals as well, which we are keeping as a surprise. So here it goes: When the number of Backers reaches 130 (it's at 97 right now), each and every backer of a physical reward pledge will get a FREE extra magnetic tree. Also, you will get another FREE magnetic tree for every Forest Tile that your reward includes or you buy as an add-on; that makes the available trees for your Forest Tiles Seven (7), instead of six. This is a Kickstarter-only free upgrade!
Hope you like your free gifts, because more will come in later backer numbers!
Warchimera developed new kind of range rulers for tabletop games, especially for historical ones, e.g. Bolt Action.
There are four types of rulers, each dedicated for different army (German, Japanese, Russian and Allies); each is 6 inches long and has marked 45-degrees arc for shooting from vehicles and guns.
Additionally we put a table for shooting with HE loads on every ruler. Rulers are made from plexiglass.
Hello everyone. Today we are elated. We finally have in hand early prototypes in hard plastic of the walls and floors.
The result has left us speechless. The quality of the texture is fantastic. Seem resin parts are so detailed. Assemble the pieces is simple: we glued only 2 half of the walls large and small, helping with practical wings to align the workpiece without mistakes. Everything else we left free, in order to be better positioned as you want.
The visual impact is considerable, assembly simple, fun is guaranteed. Of course, the prototypes are still incomplete and should be added parts which have been left behind to have the prototypes in time. Of the rest, these prototypes were sent for prototyping over 4 months ago … but without these pieces. we would not have known guarantee the high quality that we provide to all of you who participate in KS. From these early prototypes we will get the quality standard of steel moulds that will go in production . All the best. Lorenzo

Age of Tyrants has been busy posting up some 3D renders of upcoming trooper models for their minis game.
From the preview:
Age of Tyrants is our new 6mm sci-fi game system due for launch in April 2013.
In 2769 VSY, the Strike on Kalakan unleashed a spiralling maelstrom of war that threatened to engulf all of Pan-Humanic space. Breakaway systems plunged old alliances and treaties into disarray as battle lines were drawn up around them, and the powerful members of the Tripartite Alliance; the Viridians, Syntha, and the Junkers, ultimately moved openly against one another , forcing the galactic security body VASA to enter the fray on its own terms. This period became known as the Age of Tyrants.
Age of Tyrants is a 6mm tabletop wargame set in the hard sci-fi world of Urban War: Metropolis. It is a scalable mass combat system enabling you tabletop generals to fight battles ranging from skirmishes between platoons right up to battalion level offensives and features a unique unit activation system inspired by the doctrine of combined arms warfare.
