Aegis Studios

Most of the fantasy settings we hear about are ancient ones with histories stretching back millions of years, with countless civilizations that have risen and fallen over the vast stretches of time. Choe Pho isn't like most fantasy settings. Instead, it is a relatively new world. It was created by the Council of Enlightenment as a secret, secure place that's far away from the reaches of the Ilu. The inhabitants of the world live on the Isle of Hope, heading out to the Plains of Morrow in order to bring order to the chaos. This new setting book, originally coming from Contagion Second Edition, is now available.
Sometimes you see a game world that you think is really cool, but you're not sure you can get your group to try it out because it's not a system they like using. Sure, you could do your best to convert everything over to an equivalent in your group's desired system, but that can be rather tedious. Well, the folks over at Aegis Studios have helped out for those groups that like the Savage Worlds system by converting their Contagion game to use it.
While a lot of us might think of dark forests and faraway dungeons when we think of a Fantasy RPG world, there's plenty that can go on in an urban environment. It doesn't take a sci-fi game to have your characters skulking around a bustling metropolis, looking for whatever horrible things might be going on that they can make right. Well, DMs should make an effort to fix that and bring more campaigns to an urban setting. And Aegis Studios is here to help with their Urban Fantasy Races Guide.
A lot of my friends are at the age where they're getting their kids involved in gaming. Be it board games, miniatures games, or RPGs, they are sharing the love of our geeky world with their children. However, certain games can have some adult elements in them that might not be appropriate for kids. Thankfully, there are solutions out there for the discerning parent. One is the Hero Kids RPG and various books that use the Hero Kids license. Aegis Studios has released just such a book, recently, the Character Compendium 2.
Well, we're working our way through it. The work week is just about half-over. I hope it's going well for you. It's been alright over here. Gotten a lot of stuff done already this week. Hoping to keep the productivity up.

Anyway, at the moment, we've got some snack-sized stories for you to munch on.

Today's installments include: WizKids Show and Event Schedule for 2016 Posted, Two New Helmet Styles Available From Puppets War, New Infinity Tokens Available From Warsenal, Tor Gaming Player Survey Up Now, New Iron Reich Goblin Commander From Kromlech, New Bonefield Round-Lip Base Deals Available From Tabletop-Art, Syrinscape’s Turn of the Torrent SoundPack Now Available, and Summoner Wars Second Summoner Playtesting Starting.

The final frontier.
These are the RPG soucebooks that expand our games and give GMs more options when running their players through campaigns. To boldly split infinitives where infinitives have never been split before!
Oh, also, Black Spiral Vortices, a new sourcebook for Glimpse the Beyond, is available.
Or is it Friday Snippets, because I have the day off tomorrow? (and hopefully you do, too) Either way, it's some bite-sized stories before we have lots more bites tomorrow for Thanksgiving.
And yes, I really am as jazzed about the holiday as it seems.

Anyway, today's bites include: Lead Adventure Miniatures Release Bruegelburg Knights, Bombshell November Releases Posted, YooAmeGames preview their new card game Madness Skull, New website/store for Imaginative Miniatures, New Statuesque Pulp Alley Pre-Orders, Aegis Studios Releases Character Compendium 1 Under the Hero Kids Compatibility License, Notification of Results for the 2015 Windhammer Prize, Dark Art Studios Launches Forums, Announcing the First Wave of Scenarios for Post Captain, New Windfall Bases Available From Kromlech, Echoes Revealed for Shattered Earth's Humanist Rebellion, Watchful I Studio proudly announces that it will be opening its webstore, Games Workshop Black Friday Deals Coming Soon, and New Hammer's Slammer Detachment Packs From Brigade Models.

It's another Guns 'N' Roses Weather Day here in GA. We've had one just about every day so far of this month. I'm certainly happy about that. Though I've never lived in the PNW, I've always sort of wanted to, and if popular media is anything to go by, it's like this 365 days of the year. Listening to Soundgarden and Nirvana when it's like this just feels... appropriate.
Though it does mean that glue is taking longer to set as I try and put together this Betrayal at Calth set. But waddyagonnado?

In the meantime, we've got a small batch of bite-sized stories for you today.

They include: There is still time to be a part of The Campaigner Survey 2015, Epic Generator Season 2 is Released, Deraj Studios Launches Slavic Fantasy Miniatures, and Aegis Studios releases Armory 1 under the Hero Kids Compatible License.

Everyone likes to have options. I mean, just think if the passengers in Airplane! had been given more than just "steak or fish (or lasagna)" for dinner options. The fellows over in charge of the Bloom horror RPG wants to make sure you have options for your horror RPG sessions. As such, they've released the Book of Putrescence.
Beware of fine print. Also, while necessity may be the mother of invention, desperation can also lead to some rather poor life... or after-life... choices. They say to beware of Greeks bearing gifts. The same could be said for demons bearing contracts.
One of the many things that The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy taught me is that there are multiple dimensions out there... or out here... or... just... in existence. So in some other dimension, super heroes exist. Unfortunately, we got sort of a lame-o dimension and we just get to read about super heroes in our fiction and in our RPGs. Aegis Studios, with their Superstring Multiverse books, let your Mutants & Masterminds characters travel to alternate dimensions in order to fight crime. The second book is now available.
Aegis Studios has released another of their War Stories supplements for Contagion Second Edition. This one, Faith vs. Faithlessness, explores a new aspect of the Contagion setting: how your faith can be an actual source of energy. Your beliefs can be used to bring you power or, if you run into the wrong person/demon, can be drained from you to fuel their own nefarious ends. That's just what's happening in this book.
Aegis Studios has another in their War Stories series of enhancements for Contagion Second Edition available. This time it's Fog of War. In this book, you'll see how your actions can have unintended consequences and doing good sometimes lead to a lot more... especially if you interrupt a demon.
Some say that various famous guitar players made a deal with the devil in order to get their almost-mythical skills. And lord knows there are plenty of conspiracy theories around various celebrities. Well, what if at least one of those stories was true? War Stories: The Call, a new setting enhancement book for Contagion Second Edition lets you know what could happen if that was the case.
The world you know is not real. It's just a thin veneer covering a much darker world. When you play Contagion, you get a chance to see beyond what is just real and into a much more intricate world full of supernatural factions all looking to become masters of humanity's souls. War Stories: Prophetic Dreams takes a look at one person who can see through the veil. In this case, Cassie (and presumably her polar teddy bear as well).
Aegis Studios has a new setting expansion book for Contagion Second Edition. K-24 brings you to one of the most... unique places... yeah, we'll go with unique... by bringing Contagion to North Korea. Why North Korea? Because if you were going to build a prison for supernatural beings, wouldn't that be your first pick of an inconspicuous place? Let's face it, even if the story got leaked, "Supernatural prison found in North Korea" is something you'd expect the tabloids to run as a headline already.
The old gods have returned, and you could be one of them! Aegis Studios has released a new supplement for Contagion 2nd edition. It's called Rise of the Ilu. In it, it gives players the option of playing the long-missing Ilu race, or their spawn, the Ikkibu. Or, even if you don't get to play as one, there's plenty of resources for your GM to incorporate them into your game sessions.
You've made it successfully halfway through the work week. Congratulations! The weekend will be here before you know it. Hopefully you'll have some sort of chance to get a game in before then, but if not, your wait's almost over, anyway.

So, as we tend to do, we've collected some of the bite-sized stories together and present them to you now.

The week is coming to an end. What do you have planned for your weekend?
I've got some new review articles I'll be working on. It's been really exciting playing some of these new games.

Anyway, there's been a bunch of bite-sized stories coming across my desk, so it's time for another Snippets.

This time around we have: A new preview for Sector Commander, Cure/Heal Dice on Kickstarter, a new Predette from Predastore, Clan Kitsune preview fluff from Ninja Division, New Tokens Available from Advanced Deployment, Bloom Role-Playing Game Character Sheets Now Available, LaserCutCard Reduces Price on Statis Tomb Terrain, New Bits Packs at Alternative Armies, How To Serve Man coming to Kickstarter, and Skirmisher Publishing releases 100 Oddities for a Thieves' Guild.

Aegis Studios gives you dungeon masters what you all crave: more monsters. Their Bestiary II for their Fantasy8s game is now available. Granted, since the Crazy 8s system is pretty universal, you could theoretically use these creatures in any game or setting you're playing using those rules. Just put "space" or "internet" in front of the name and you've got "space dragons" and "internet trolls" (ok, so those may already exist in a different form) for your other games.

From the release:
Aegis Studios knows some of the most-interesting story lines from comics are the "what if" and "alternate universe" stories, where you take pre-established characters, change things around a little bit, and see how they go. Well, they've got their Superstring Multiverse Worldbook 1 for Mutants & Masterminds now available to bring a couple of those worlds to your RPG.

From the post:
Hey everyone. Here's another batch of news snippets for you.
Remember, snippets aren't "leftovers" or "scraps" or anything like that. They're news like everything else. They're just... smaller. There's good stuff in here and we want you to know about it. It's just that the story's shorter, but no less important!

So what do we have in this round? Well, there's a new punk green from Slow Death Games, an announcement from ThunderChild Miniatures about a new Kickstarter, a new release from Hitech Miniatures, a new adventure for Fantasy8s, new Pulp Alley templates from Sally 4th, a notice about the final days of the Rise of the Kage pre-order, some new goblin nurses from Kromlech, a Squadron Strike: Traveller Preview, an announcement about the Death Saves Anthology release, and some new accessories for Robotech from Burn In Designs.

Aegis Studios brings out more for their Crazy8s rpg system with the release of Mecha8s. Who doesn't love giant powered armor suits battling it out against one-another? If you just said "me." then... you're kinda lame, but that's alright. We love you, anyway. The Mecha8s book is fully compatible with all the other Crazy8s books. So you can have your wizard or psychic or super hero fight with or against these new mecha.

From the release:
Aegis Studios subscribes to the multiverse theory of reality (and being a big science buff, myself, I could go on and on about the subject, though really just from a layman's perspective, but still, I find the multiverse to be fascinating, but I digress...) and wants to let you bring that into your Mutants & Masterminds games. Their Superstring Multiverse supplement has new rules and power sets for jumping between realities. They're good for a single session, or a whole campaign of alternate timelines.
