I like going to Adepticon. Mostly that's because it feels like going home. That's because, in a way, it is going home for me, since I was born in Chicago. Plus, it's just a really cool show. It's filled with all sorts of tournaments for all sorts of systems. Plus, there's some of the coolest army boards I've ever seen. Well, as good as the show can be, Geek Nation Tours can make it even better with their packages for the show. The tour is booking now.

There and Back Again, a Polar Bear's Tail

Or tale, or something.
I'm a bit sleep-deprived at the moment. After working all morning and early afternoon at Adepticon yesterday, my carpool buddy, Blackstock, and I drove all the way back from Chicago to Atlanta. Upon arrival here, I got about 2 hours of sleep before my brain said, "You're awake now" and so I've been working on unpacking my suitcase, starting up laundry, and other such things that, thankfully, don't require a lot of brain power. Regular news posts will resume tomorrow. In the meantime, in case you missed out on the Adepticon coverage:

It's early Sunday morning, and that means packing things up here in the room. It's the final day of Adepticon. If you've been here, I hope you've had a good time. If you've not been here, I hope the photos have helped you live vicariously through my lens. To help with that, here's some more galleries of events from the show.

And stay tuned this afternoon for the results from the Crystal Brush awards.

Online Voting for Crystal Brush Awards Now Open

As you saw in my gallery the other day, there's a lot of fantastic models in the Crystal Brush this year (the cases filled up a lot since then). Every entry is absolutely awesome, but only one will be able to take home the grand prize. And you can have a help in deciding which model that will be.

Some More Adepticon Photos

It's day 3 here at Adepticon. It's been a wild day... and I'm not even talking about the gaming. We woke up to some lovely weather. And then, just about 10min. ago, for about a minute, the lights all went out in the dealer's hall/gaming area. I just missed snapping a photo of everyone gaming for a moment via cellphone flashlight.

Anyway, what I did grab photos of were... a bunch of things.

Dark Deeds Demo Report

Andy Chambers and Mark Gibbons.
Those are two names that really don't need an introduction for the people that tend to frequent this page. But just in case you didn't know, Andy has been writing game rules for... oh... forever. And Mark has been doing artwork for those games just about as long. They worked together back in the day for Games Workshop and there's a very good chance that you've had a codex in your hand and both their names were on the credits page. Well, they're teaming up again, this time with Games & Gears to bring you Dark Deeds. It's a brand new card game and they've got it here at Adepticon. Ruxton from G&G was nice enough to give me a demo.

Sweet Home, Chicago

Well, it's been a while since I've been in my home city (I was born just right over there *points towards Alexian Brothers hospital). But here I am in Schaumberg, ready for Adepticon.

I'll be updating what I can here, but be sure to check out the TGN Facebook Page for regular photo updates. I've already scheduled a demo of a brand new game from Andy Chambers, so be on the lookout for that as well.

It's gonna be a great show. If you're here and see me roaming around, feel free to say hi.
