Centuries ago, the Prodigravus mutant plague swept through humanity. There wasn't much to do but try and hold it off and escape to where it hadn't reached yet. This left humanity huddled against one corner of the galaxy. In the chaos of that time, the Tharnaxist Church, a group devoted to the worship of machines, came to power. Now, human life is cheap. Killing one isn't all that big a deal. But killing a machine (aka, synthicide)? Yeah, you don't want to do that. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and when you're offered a significant sum to kill a machine, do you take up the offer? That's the story behind Synthicide, a new sci-fi RPG that's available to order now.
The game was originally funded via Kickstarter. Now's your chance to jump in during the backerkit stage and get your books and such at the Kickstarter price. In the game, players take on the role of humans in the far future. Times are tough and you'll have to work together taking whatever jobs might happen across you if you want to stay alive. So when a job like a synthicide makes its way to you, and you're cold, hungry, and have a spaceship to maintain, it might just be worth taking.
