As 2015 comes to a close, a lot of companies are starting to get the last pieces of their books together and start to analyze the year that was. Well, Steve Jackson Games has posted up their report about the 2014 year (yeah, it's a touch later than they usually post) for their Stakeholders. It's interesting to see how things have worked out for them as they moved into the world of Kickstarter.
If you look at the sales in one way, it doesn't look like things went so well, since sales were down $300k. However, if you look again, that number doesn't take into account the money brought in from Kickstarter. If you look at it that way, then they're up $500k, due to the Ogre campaign. However, not everything went smoothly with the release, as we know, and Steve Jackson lists the shipping of the game and the troubles with it as their biggest failure of the year.
