SLA Industries has been around as an RPG for a while, coming out originally in 1993. Originally released by Nightfall Games, it puts players in a horrific reality filled with horrible monsters, where the population is kept in check by crazy reality tv shows (and this was decades before we got Jersey Shore!). The game has seen a bit of a resurgence lately, and with that have been calls for a miniatures skirmish game based on it. Well, you asked and Daruma Productions has answered, creating SLA Industries: Cannibal Sector 1, which is up on Kickstarter now.
You play as the leader of rival gangs on one of the horrific reality tv shows. Head through various landscapes in order to battle your opponents. But it's more than just beating other people up. There's viewers to take into account. You want them to be entertained (as Russel Crowe told us). Build up Ratings points by performing special maneuvers and then either trade them in for more-powerful attacks later (that can also get you super ratings), or save them to the end of the match and trade them in for VPs. Everyone's favorite team might not always win on the field, but if the ratings are high enough, it's still an overall win for the gang.
The Kickstarter campaign is up and running now, and is doing rather well. They're closing in on 4x funded with still 23 days left to go.
