Shinobigami, or God of the Shinobi, is a tabletop roleplaying game that’s up on Kickstarter now and looking for some funding love. The game was originally published in Japan and they’re looking to bring the game to an English-speaking audience. Seems people are excited about it, since they’re well over 2x funded and still have a lot of time left on the clock. Also, just calling it a “roleplaying game” sort of does it a disservice.
The game is designed to be played in a single evening. So you can use this as a one-shot when you don’t want to play your regular game, or if you’re in-between games, or whatnot. It’s also a bit of a mix of styles of games. There’s the RPG aspect of it, but it’s also a bit Werewolf-ish (the Convention Game, not the other RPG), in that the player’s character’s true identities are hidden from one-another. Everyone is playing as a modern-day ninja after all. So a bit of obfuscation and hidden agenda-ing is to be expected.
As I mentioned above, the campaign is more than 2x funded, and there’s still 36 days left to go.
