More and more people are getting 3D printers these days.
Meanwhile, I don't have a regular printer at home. But that's beside the point. The proliferation of 3D printers means that game companies can offer games to you without any shipping costs. They just send you the files for your printer and you make your own minis right at home. The folks at Cross Lances are doing that with their expansion to Rough and Tumble, which is up on Kickstarter now.
The game is Chess-like, but is played on a hex grid. Each figure has their own special abilities, and movement is restricted based on the space you're on on the board. This set brings you the Amazons and the Undead (the original had Dwarves and Orcs). There's also add-ons to give you different game modes like Kill the King and Catch the Chicken (yes, Catch the Chicken. You can even get an amazon or undead chicken for it).
The Kickstarter campaign is up and running now. They're pretty close to their goal with still 27 days left.
