Red Box Games is running a new Kickstarter campaign. This one’s for some new Heroic Fantasy Miniatures. They’re already around 2x funded, so it’s stretch goals for 26 days.

From the campaign:

Red Box Games is back again to fund the production of a new range of fantasy adventurers. Well known for our already expansive line of fantasy adventurers and various Monster figures we now want to expand and update as much of the line as possible, This means all new sculpts for as many of the various ranges in the RBG product line as funding will allow. To begin I have sculpted a wide selection of new figures which are nearly ready to go into production as of the launch of this kickstarter.

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

Red Box offers some of the best miniatures that I’ve ever seen.

Tre packs all that detail into a deceivingly small sculpt, too. Many companies are going in the 28-32mm range these days, with some even flirting with 35mm+. Tre’s stuff is much closer to the 25-28mm range, if I remember correctly.

        I think it’s closer to non-heroic 28mm.
GW and all the other heroic scale guys have ruined most people’s perception with 1/50(ish) scale height, 1/48(ish)scale width and 1/35 scale weapons/accessories. I have a lot of respect for artists who do what Tre’s doing and take the time to get the sizes right and not guesstimate.

Update: Yeah in the comments section they are confirmed to be non-heroic 28mm.

    • Agreed – they ooze character. Tre does fantastic stuff. 🙂

Thanks for posting this guys! 😀

Thanks for the compliments as well. The scale is I guess ” true ” 28 mm. I build all of my human male figures on armatures that stand 32 to 35 mm tall from the bottom of the feet to the top of the head with both feet together and back straight. All other races are measured against this standard using the old school fantasy standards of height and weight for each race. So Elves are shorter and slighter than humans. Dwarves are shorter than elves but abotu as heavy as a human, halflings are to dwarves what elves are to humans etc etc.

I love the models, but you need more females in the current Kickstarter. I’d probably pledge more if there were.

So- they’ll fit right in with my Dark Sword minis. I’m always wondering if we’re supposed to be measuring to the top of the head or the eye.

By the way, I’m still in love with the minis you did for Reaper.

  • Tre Manor

I am working on a few ideas to address the gap. 😉

you know i do nto have many DS minis. Those that I do have…the VERY awesome GoT figures the proportions are identical except for the heads. Teh heads ont he GoT figures are larger than the heads on RBG figures. And the hands and feet on RBG figures tend to be a little larger than those of the GoT figures.
