About the releases:
This December, Privateer Press will be celebrating the holiday season with its first-ever 12 Factions of Christmas collection. The 12 Factions of Christmas is a new annual event in which nearly every Faction from the company’s award-winning tabletop miniatures games WARMACHINE and HORDES will receive a new model release.
The inaugural event will see 13 new models released for the twelve WARMACHINE and HORDES current factions. These new models were previewed at Privateer Press’s Lock and Load GameFest last July through a special video sneak peek. Since its reveal, the video has been viewed over 10,000 times on Privateer Press’s YouTube channel. In August, the models were put through Privateer Press’ Community Integrated Development program, which gave WARMACHINE and HORDES players all over the world the chance to test and provide feedback on the final rules for the upcoming models.
“While our new theme force releases like the recent Cygnar Trenchers or the upcoming Trollbloods Northkin have allowed us to dive into the setting and expand WARMACHINE and HORDES in fun ways, the structured manner in which we are ordering the Faction releases means we needed a way to still deliver new models to Factions that might not see a theme force in a specific year,” Executive Director William Shick said. “With the 12 Factions of Christmas, we are able to give attention to all of our WARMACHINE and HORDES Factions every year. Best of all, as these releases fall outside any particular theme force release, we can use the 12 Factions of Christmas releases to expand on existing theme forces or even to set the stage for upcoming theme forces. All in all, the biggest goal for every 12 Factions of Christmas release is to give players of that Faction the same excitement of opening that present that they’ve been waiting for all year. And I think, based on the feedback we received when we finished the Community Integrated Development cycle for these, that’s a feeling we’ve achieved with this first batch of upcoming model releases.”
