I’m somewhat interested in this, as Privateer has done some amazing things with Hordes & Warmachine. A few things though kind of have put my interest off a little bit. First is that this is a board game, another sci-fi dungeon crawler basically … another space hulk-esq game. I hear that this is just the first of what will be a whole range of products related to level 7 though, including a miniature game. So I’ll wait for that and reserve judgement. The second sort of un-interesting aspect to this, again just from my own individual standpoint (not to rain on anyone’s parade just my own preference here) is … why grey aliens … good god … why. There are few cheesier sci-fi topics honestly. It has been played out since the 1970s. Again I’ll reserve judgement a bit more … but a game based on area 51 conspiracy theory stuff … ugh … ok I guess guys. Just the opinion of a random and meaningless dude on the internet …

If we compare every dungeon crawler game with Space Hulk, nothing new will ever hit the market.
It can still have some merit.
      🙂

Once upon a time, some random and meaningless dude on the internet had an opinion. His name was Zac…. and here we are today 😛

Anyway, I kinda disagree that Grays are overplayed. Yes, in the social media they’re a bit dull now, but… how many other TTG’s (board or otherwise) have them as the main protagonist? I honestly can’t think of many (just two to be honest). From that point of view, I’m keen to see where PP take them.

Not a bad video, though PP made no headway towards making me want to buy this game with it. (still at 0%)
Video did an excellent job of explaining the game, but they def need a better voice actor (sorry Will!)

I don’t disagree with the comments. I’m taking a wait and see approach. The gray aliens I am also assuming are probably just a part of what Level 7 is going to be about so regardless of one’s interest in that aspect of this I’m sure there will be a huge amount more to this once all is said and done. As I said I like Privateer as a company and they have done some awesome games thus far, so while this isn’t causing me save my pennies just yet. I’m sure at some point they’ll pull me in 🙂

I also agree that the board game as merit, I’ll likely just wait to demo it at some point to see how it plays. I dearly love Infernal Contraption … so if the mechanics are as fun and well thought out as that … I’ll be in.

Really though my biggest complaint is that they didn’t start off with a full blown minis game … I really wanted to see Privateer jump into the sci-fi minis market!! But they are smart to dip the toe in the waters first I guess … 🙂
