From the announcement:
In order to meet production demands and make high-end, large-scale WARMACHINE and HORDES models available at reasonable prices to players and collectors, Privateer Press is launching a series of direct-to-consumer hobby models under the new production label Black Anchor Heavy Industries.
These models are among the most expensive to produce and keep in stock, limiting their availability in most locations, so Black Anchor’s first offering, the highly anticipated Dracodile for the Minions Faction of HORDES, is available now for preorder through the company’s website. It will ship in December, just in time for the holidays, and will also be available from Privateer at conventions and events where the company has a retail presence. Its final rules have been posted to the company’s Online Card Database so players can prepare their armies for the model’s inclusion.
“We know some of our models can be quite daunting in size and price,” said Privateer Press Executive Director William Shick. “These centerpiece models, which we expect to be primarily resin pieces, are intended to make an impression when players and collectors bring them to the table or showcase them in their collections. Offering them to our players direct and through a preorder allows us to control production and ensure their availability in the most economical way.”
Each new Black Anchor Heavy Industries (BAHI) model will be available for preorder in limited quantities 4–8 weeks before they ship, and most will be offered with free shipping. Additionally, preorders will receive bonus materials tied to the line. The Dracodile, a gargantuan model shipping December 15th, will come with an exclusive Black Anchor Heavy Industries T-shirt. The preorder window for the Dracodile, which sells for $109.99, closes December 1st. The model will continue to be sold through the Privateer Press Online Store without the bonus T-shirt after the preorder shipping deadline has passed.
Future releases under the Black Anchor Heavy Industries label include the Northkin battle engine Hearthgut Hooch Hauler for a January release and Skarre, Admiral of the Black Fleet, and her Ghost Ship in early spring 2018.
