And we’ve made it to Tuesday. Congratulations. The work week is well underway. Soon, it will be the weekend once again. To help speed us along, how about some gaming podcasts, eh? Sounds like a plan.
This week we have: Forgot My DiceEpisode 15 (22): Shiny and Kinda Chromed; Anonymous Tabletop Episode 16: The Most Dangerous Game (of Thrones); Rolling Dice & Taking Names Episode 123: Lignum, Downforce, Indulgence, and The Lost Expedition; The Secret Cabal Episode 139: Nemo’s War, Warhammer Quest Silver Tower and a Short Topic Extravaganza; Epic Gaming Night Podcast Episode 115: Plaid Hat Design With Isaac Vega!; The Cardboard Herald Episode 37: Eric Woods of Hobby Horse Games, designer of Firelight; Ice Cream For Everyone: 2017 Birthday & Game Chef Episode; SAGA THORSDAY Episode 47: Northern Tempest!; Meeples & Miniatures Episode 221: Cigar Box Battle; Blue Peg, Pink Peg Episode 103: Wasteland Express Delivery Service; The Rolistes Episode 22 (Part 2): The Rolistes Go To The UK Games Expo; Singled Out Episode 40: Cinder, Blacksmiths Apprentice, Sneak Peek!; The D6 Generation Episode 217: Getting into Voice Work & Clank Detailed Review; and Gamers Lounge Episode 140: Sofa in the Lounge.
This week the boys wrap up the Patreon contest, and fire up a new one on twitter! The contest is super easy to participate in, and you get all the info in the first 10 minutes, so be sure to listen! Meanwhile, Robert is very out of it, and Jonathan takes advantage of his weakened mental state, mostly via mockery. Plus we Deep Dive Terraforming Mars by Stronghold games! All of that, plus our usual assortment of shenanigans, table top news, and so much more in this episode of the FMD Podcast!
Welcome to Anonymous Tabletop Episode 16.
In this episode we once again speak directly to a listener, Dave does some pandering for some Facebook love, and in his absence, we decide to blame Tim for absolutely everything.
We also share our predictions for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, find Dave knows way too much about the sex life of beetles, and Joe cuts the discussion short to run off to a completely different kind of throne room.
We then talk more Game of Thrones when we reveal our most memorable deaths scenes from the show, Joe tries to kill Future Dave, and Lathan gets confused and starts rambling on about black knights and coconuts.
And last but not least, Geeky Jean plays dress up, we find out the hard way that dinosaurs and dragons don’t mix, and we reach into Tim’s Severed Sack and find a huge cast of characters in there. Who knew it was so roomy?
Episode 123 is just full of the latest and greatest games to hit your shelves. We spend a lot of time talking about a very deep Euro called Lignum that is being brought to you by Capstone Games. This is one of those games where you might need to take a deep breath before you dive in, but it isn’t that bad to learn and is very straight forward. Where it jumps up and bites you is in the amount of planning you need to do, not just in your current turn, but in future turns. But, please, don’t let the terms heavy, meaty, complex drive you from this game. If you get a chance to play it, walk through the board as in doing a “fake” round and you will be ready to go. So easy to understand with the board face up and in front of you.
Restoration Games is killing it with their re-release/re-skinning/re-branding of the games Indulgence and Downforce. If you like racing games where it doesn’t matter who wins, because you win by guessing the correct winner, then you really need to try Downforce. It is a fun, fast game and has yet to disappoint. But there is a caveat to that statement, player count in this game does matter, so higher is better. Can’t wait to see the final production of Stop Thief so that we can see if Restoration is going to go 3 for 3.
Gen Con is right around the corner which means our meetup is also right around the corner and today the Founders are joined by Honorary Founder Stephen Buonocore of Stronghold Games to name their beer! Then the gang reviews their first solo game, Nemo’s War and look back at Warhammer Quest Silver Tower one year later. And after Tony T goes bananas with a news roundup the guys host another Short Topic Extravaganza including teaching board game rules, how important is replayability and more.

It’s my birthday! That’s me on the photo, summer selfie taken down the street I live in Chicago! I haven’t managed to organise a new recording with a guest and yet am committed to publishing every other week so I made a birthday episode, in which I basically beg you to rate and review the podcast on iTunes, and talk about the game design idea I submitted for this year’s Game Chef design competition. Simply click the iTunes link above to write a review!
That’s about it folks, Enjoy the rest of the day and please take time to review the podcast if you enjoy it! It’s always great to get a few words of encouragement, feedback, questions, or even constructive criticism.

Here’s the second part of our episode recorded at the UK Games Expo! Thanks again to the fans supporting the show via Patreon for unlocking that $30 goal.
For this part here’s some additional friendly encounters and even more.
As part of my visit at the UKGE, I was invited by Federico Sohn to join a filmed session of his game “Nibiru – A Sci-Fi RPG of Lost Memories” mastered by Lloyd with Garry and Mark as players. The resulting video should be part of the launch of the Kickstarter campaign for this game;
Then let’s Paolo Guccione at the stand of “Alephtar Games” to discuss about “Cats of Catthulhu” and bit more about Italian tabletop RPGs;
Then we head for the stand of Burning Games for an update with Helio G. about the successfully crowdfunded Faith: The Sci-Fi RPG.
Finally, let’s finish with a great and extensive conversation with the very friendly Dominic Parry from the Hong Kong based “Nine Dragons RPG” about their action packed “Honour RPG“, the Indie Game Developer Network (IGDN) and the exciting development of the Hobby in the Far East.
In this episode Andrew and Jason talk about Cinder, the new Blacksmiths guild apprentice, and how she fits into what we know about the team so far.
Ray Greenley, voice over guy and passonate gamer, joins us in the 3rd chair!
Up first Ray gives us insight into how he got into voice over and narrating audio books!
Later we take a good look at the game Clank! Can this deck building card game appeal to someone like Craig?
