Pinball Showdown Up On Kickstarter

Sure, despite being deaf, dumb, and blind, Tommy could play a mean game of pinball, but what about looking at the game from the ball's point of view? That's what you'll be doing in Pinball Showdown, a new card game that's up on Kickstarter now.

From the campaign:

Shoot Again Games launched their latest game today on Kickstarter, Pinball Showdown. This new game is a departure from their previous games, Legends and Lies, Conspiracy! and Looting Atlantis in both flavor and mechanics, and is sure to cater to both fans of their previous games and an entire new market with its pinball theme.

"I've always wanted to create a game that spoke to my true passion: the arcade scene of the 1980s," says Diane Sauer, owner of both Shoot Again Games and Shoot Again Pinball, a pinball restoration company, "My hope is that with the recent boom in interest in board games, I can reach a new generation of people who never had the chance to experience the golden age of pinball that I did."

In Pinball Showdown explore the exciting world of pinball from a pinball's eye view. The game is for two, three, or four players who drive their pinball into a wide array of playfield devices in order to score the most points. Players must maintain a critical balance between speed, which determines which devices they can score, and control, which helps them decide which devices they can hit. Player's who manage these resources the most effectively can score special combinations which gives them bonus points and also triggers wizard mode that can lead to even greater scoring opportunities. Once multiball times out or a player's pinball drains, scores are added up to determine who is the real pinball wizard.

Pinball Showdown is easy to pick up and learn, but with an abundance of strategy and fast-paced fun veteran gamers are sure to appreciate. It will be on Kickstarter through February 9th.

The campaign has already passed its funding goal, so it's on to stretch goals for the next 29 days.
