Blood for the blood god!
Even if you’re not a regular GW-player, there’s a good chance you know that call to arms. Khorne, the Chaos god, is fairly well known for the battle cry of his followers. And those followers are getting bolstered in Age of Sigmar by a new Battletome and set of Warscrolls.

About the book:

Battletome: Blades of Khorne collects together the rules and background you need to combine the Khorne Bloodbound and Daemons of Khorne into a single bloody fist, ready to smash down upon the worlds of Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Manifestations of primal rage and senseless bloodlust, the daemons of Khorne are far from subtle, shunning the trickery and deceit of magic in favour of crushing physical might. His mortal followers fight with comparable ferocity, hoping to gain enough favour to tread the path of skulls and ascend to blood-soaked glory.

The signal to noise ratio in these books–sorry, crunch to fluff, I suppose–is really, really awful.

I have the Ironjawz book (because I am a masochist, and because orcs). There are 3 units and 5 heroes. There are no painting tips in the book, which are offloaded to supplemental painting guides.

I suppose this is preaching to the choir, but wow, it’s expensive for not a whole lot.

Unfortunately there were several battletomes released before GW got with it and discovered we liked actual army books rather than a few warscrolls and fluff pages in a book. Really the only books worth getting were from beastclaw raiders and bonesplitters on. Any before that are really a waste of money. This khorne one and the SCE one give us hope though that they will get around to updating the old ones in this proper format.

With point values added in, I hope.

You aren’t kidding about a waste of money. Considering their stance on online discounts, buying the earlier tomes at list is mad.

I will assume by expensive you mean, should be a free pdf.

I wouldn’t expect the leopard to change its spots, but $40 is over the top.

The trouble is all about what you’re looking for.

If you just want the three to five pages rules, well $40 is WAY too much.

If you sincerely want a full color art book with whatever fluff they’ve included, there’s a bit more value there.

To be fair, GW have been reducing the prices on their books- but they’re not really increasing the rules content in them.

Is this a new Khorne book, or is it an update to the older Khorne AoS stuff?

I’m honestly a little confused at seeing so much Khorne in AoS, but if they’re updating into AoS 2nd edition (general’s compendium) then it makes some sense.

Um!…I think you mean Ears of Khorne. /s
