Modiphius Entertainment has announced its plans to initiate a Kickstarter campaign for a new wargame and miniatures series, “Cohors Cthulhu: Tactics”, scheduled for June 2024. This forthcoming project is generating interest among tabletop gaming enthusiasts.
The game places players in the setting of Imperial Rome, amidst a Germanic forest filled with mythological horrors. Participants begin as survivors aiming to escape the forest, evolving to lead a legion against formidable mythological entities. “Cohors Cthulhu: Tactics” is designed for both solo and cooperative gameplay, blending strategic wargaming elements with role-playing game narratives.
Modiphius intends to offer an extensive range of 28mm miniatures, including diverse Roman and mythological figures, available in both resin and as 3D print-at-home STL files. These miniatures are intended to be compatible with existing collections from leading historical miniatures manufacturers.
The Kickstarter campaign will offer backers exclusive access to special miniatures, such as the Star Spawn of Cthulhu, along with the possibility of unlocking additional content through stretch goals. These additions may include new factions, creatures, missions, and gameplay enhancements.
This initiative follows the successful Kickstarter for the “Cohors Cthulhu Tabletop Roleplaying Game” in October 2023, which resulted in the production of six RPG books and 25 miniatures that can also be utilized in “Cohors Cthulhu: Tactics”.
