Gale Force Nine have new Battlefield in a Box sets for release this week.

From their announcement:

This week Gale Force Nine is excited to release four new Battlefield in a Box terrain sets. Battlefield in a Box is GF9’s fantastic looking and affordable pre-painted terrain series for miniature wargaming. Each set is ready to use right out of the box and will make your tabletop battles look great! The sets are also designed so that ambitious modelers can embellish or even repaint the terrain to suit their needs. GF9 is kicking off an ambitious release schedule of new terrain projects this year and these four sets are only the beginning.

GF9’s first two sets are collections of great accent pieces that will make your tabletop spring to life. Rocky Outcrops contains eight (8) craggy piles of rock and stone that look at home on any war-torn battleground from strange alien worlds to desolate chaotic wastelands. Our Crystals set presents ten (10) mysterious green crystal clusters for your battlefield. The crystals could represent natural growths or strange alien power sources for your armies to fight over. Add them to your terrain collection today and put a little variety on the battlefield.

Gale Force Nine expands their collection of Gothic Ruins with two new corner pieces. The timeless terrain pieces of the Battlefield in a Box Gothic Ruins series turn your ordinary tabletop in war-shattered metropolis. The Small corner set is a stout six (6) inch tall ruin accompanied by a seven and a half (7½) inch long straight wall section.

The Medium corner set is a nine and a half (9½) tall two story corner section. The crumbling remnant of the second floor in this building shell serves as a perfect battlefield vantage point. Combined with our other Gothic Ruin pieces and our forthcoming Hall of Heroes series, you can build an entire ruined city block or ancient castle for your forces to fight in.

Look for Gale Force Nine Battlefield in a Box terrain pieces in finer hobby and game shops worldwide. These new pieces will also be available in the GF9 Webstore this weekend on Friday, January 28th.

I’ve quite liked GF9’s terrain releases, and am very glad they are expanding beyond the gothic ruins with ideas like the crystals and rocky outcroppings.

And that DM’s screen is too cool to pass up, although at $150 I should probably find a group to play with first.

I would totally get back into D&D just to play with that screen. I think everyone would want to be the DM though…

I’m sold. That’s perfect for Bounty, AE-WWII, and Pulp City. Heck, you could even use it for Malifaux. What a great set of terrain pieces.

I’ve got the lArge goth corner… it is AMAZING, and way taller than i expected, i’ll be getting the addtional corners, no question.

The rocks and crystals look very nice as well, very usable, the crystals scream for Eldar or necrons! (my faction and my most hated foe!)

With a paint job they’ll be perfect for Rasputina’s ice columns in Malifaux too!
