Gale Force 9 has a new Battlefield in a Box available. This one’s Asteroids for all you space-game-players out there.

From them to you:

So you have a set of nicely painted miniatures, flying through space on a full colour printed space mat, why are your asteroids little cardboard tokens when they could be something much better?

The GF9 set of Asteroids will turn any two dimensional gaming surface into something that looks as good as the miniatures you are putting on the table.

I was born at a very young age. I plan on living forever. So far, so good.
  • 30 bucks for something you can find for free in a lot of gardens within 5 minutes of search? Nice try, GF9, nice try.

And yet they will sell loads of them….

I was thinking the same thing. It looks like lava rock that they cast. I did something similar that looks almost identical. I dipped natural sea sponges in thinned glue and let them dry. They’re light and hard as rock. Not to mention I sculpted some more “asteroid” looking asteroids based on NASA pictures out of foam core and sanding. Used a hot knife. Then used a dropper and acetone to create to craters.

It was a fun project. I enjoyed it. How much of a goober do you have to be to buy your own asteroids. I like Gale Force Nice but they are a bit pricey. Especially for dry brushed sponges.

I am so stealing that sponge idea.
30 bucks is pretty steep. I’ll make my own, and get about 500 for 30 bucks.

DUDE you only get 8 asteroids to boot? 8 really? WTF? Then I saw the Star Wars minis. Now I get who they are selling too.

Color me a goober, I guess, I’ll be buying a set

  • Go to Lowes. Buy some Lava rocks…

Also how are they getting away with the illegal use of the star wars minis in their product photos?
