Maki Games is showing off more previews for their sci-fi terrain Kickstarter.

From the update:

As promised a sneak peek of the Sci-Fi themed modules. These are just a few of the ones we have, but should give you an idea. There will be a double floor like in the first module with 2 different designs.

The door in this case is fixed, it has been made to be easily cut out. But, we have two more concepts we are working on to make a door that can be removed/opened and put back in place that we are studying.

I was starting to get into this.. then I looked.
    Hi-tech is not unlocked.
That’s $75 to build what is basically 1 building.
The timing on this is horrible since in Deadzone I can get approximately 9 buildings for $75..

I get that it’s modular and customizable but the design is not unique enough to justify the cost difference, especially when Deadzone is supposed to allow for modular terrain as well.

For the record, it’s not one building for $75, it is 5 buildings at the $75 pledge level. Granted it is more expensive than the Mantic stuff, but not as much as you are implying.

They may be “5 buildings” but they are small enough that you have to combine them to make 1 building.. though you are right, I also missed where they said you would have a bit left over. Bottom line for me though is that I don’t see the value here. If it stood out as something other than more generic sci-fi blocky terrain, then yeah, the price difference would be less of an issue.

      • If you really want something that looks awesome and is more than blocks – have a look at Escenoramas indiegogo campaign. Click the video… I was blown away, but it’s a bit pricey. I have no affiliation btw.

I’m not seeing a video and tried searching for that name as you spelled it but I’m not seeing it. I’d love to see something that would fit in with most futuristic settings that has more character than CoD and other blocky stuff.

  • It feels a bit like hijacking the thread hmm… It’s actually posted here on TGN – I probably spelled it wrong. here is the link to the TGN news http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2013/05/21/73688/
Goto the main page of that link and have a look at the layout of stuff and how well thought out it is.
