Micro Art Studio will be making official terrain for use with Corvus Belli’s Infinity sci-fi skirmish game.

From their announcement:

Micro Art Studio has signed an agreement with Corvus Belli authorizing us to make the official terrains, bases and accessories for Infinity.

Weโ€™re starting with special Concrete Wall series. The wall is made of resin and there are special components to add Holoboard advertisements specially designed to fit โ€œInfinityโ€ world.

Terrain for Infinity – HOORAY! This game needs a lot of terrain.

However… concrete walls? Not really much of an opening gambit. I’d like to be WOWED, here, and this just isn’t the product to WOW me.

(Sadly what Infinity really needs is really nice sci-fi buildings – not ruins, but actual buildings – to cover a 4’x4′ space that doesn’t break the bank… but so far I’ve never had that wish fulfilled)

    • Hi Robert,

I think we have good news for you. Our designers are actually working on building designs. I know that we have plans to make a range of modular (not ruins) sci-fi buildings. Unfortunately I cannot give you precise date of realise ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you’ll be able to see some photos in 3,4 months. We want to make them really playable and complex, so stay tuned ๐Ÿ™‚

This is indeed good news. I look forward to seeing what you guys can do.

        That’s excellent news!!!!

I am really glad to hear that.

Actually, I think it’s very useful set (as usual, depending on price), far more than any single building would. These give you easy to store, easy to put in place and easy to shape LOS-blocking terrain, perfect to filling the blanks between bigger pieces and such.

  • I’ve used Hexagon kits for buildings and they work perfectly.

    They look good and practical.

I am very excited by this announcement. Infinity has a great setting with a fairly unique visual, and terrain themed to this visual will not only be a great addition to the Infinity tabletop, but other skirmish-scale sci-fi games (MERCS, for example) as well. Micro Art Studios already makes some of my favorite resin bases on the market, and has done quality work for Pulp City. I am looking forward to seeing how the holoboard is executed, and more from this line.

  • The key to this will be whether it is affordable. If Micro Art can produce something scifi but at the price point of GF9 or Pegasus, you’ll see gamers fill their 4×4′ table with it. If we go over $30US for a two story building though (let’s say 10×10″) you’ll have a hard time getting that all important cash-in.

These walls look really cool. I’m hoping the set isn’t $50. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m a huge fan of Microart, but will these be resin? price seems like an issue for me…

so far, i’m wrangling as many AT-43 walls as I can, and match them with my rather large collection of Hexagon/plataformer buildings (as well as 2 nifty AT-43 bunkers!), and it has worked for me. Urbanscapes however elude me, as buildings are difficult to find/make and futuristic walls are difficult to scratch build…

I’ll applaud the partnership, but hold on to see the finished product

Looks good so far, though only the holoboard piece is something I’d buy at this point. Maybe once we see more types of pieces the walls will become more interesting. Although, as long as we don’t get more ruins that everyone else is producing, I’ll be happy.

  • As walls go, I really like them. Nice and tall to fully hide figures and with a pleasing anime/sci-fi shape. I’d like to see some with some firing ports/windows as well. Really looking forward to see how the buildings turn out.

I continue to be impressed by MAS so if they can manage to keep their prices reasonable, I think they’ll do very well.

  • Great news!

As far as i know, to play Infinity it needs a lot of terrain, so it would be great if these official terrain is not very expensive, in order that one or two players could buy enough to have a decent table without selling their kidneys ๐Ÿ˜€

    • supervike

      Tip. Sell only one kidney.

      • Robert

Is that the voice of experience?

  • Nosaj Verush

These are fantastic and someone really does need to step up and make sic fi terrain that is not gothic or ruined. Are they repainted?

  • Nosaj Verush

    Sorry, I meant prepainted.

    • grimbergen

I don’t think so — the other MAS products and terrain pieces are not.
