Memeology Card Game Up On Kickstarter
Memes are pretty much an everyday part of our lives right now. Hell, I used a couple earlier today when talking with friends. Gaming is also a part of our everyday lives (well, if you’re visiting here, it probably is, anyway). So, why not mix the two? That’s when you get Memeology, a card game that’s up on Kickstarter now that takes memes off of your screen and onto your tabletop.
From the campaign:
You ever feel like your idea was ahead of its time? Tell me about it! Back in early 2012, I had an idea for a card game that had to do with memes. I LOVED me some memes – so hilarious! So, I created the game in a small batch to distribute and tried to sell the game through my own business.
While memes were very much prevalent on the internet, the average person had ZERO idea of what memes were! Can you imagine that? Well, guess what happened? It did not sell! So, the remaining copies sat in a dusty box in my garage for the last four years…
Fast-forward to 2017 and memes are EVERYWHERE! I figure now would be a good time to try again and see if there is a market for my game. My goals with this Kickstarter campaign are to completely redesign all of the artwork for the game (new tuck box art, custom card artwork, as well as newer – updated memes). If this version of the game is successful, I will try to create a mobile version of the game (similar to Hearthstone, Exploding Kittens, etc.).
The Kickstarter is running now and is set to go for another 27 days.
