Laughing Moon Con coming to Goodyear, AZ later this month

Laughing Moon Con is being held October 20th in Goodyear, AZ. Why not go check it out?

From the website:

Saturday, October 20th brings about the fourth Laughing Moon Con, held in Goodyear, AZ. In an effort to introduce high-school aged kids to the tabletop gaming world as well as the pop-culture scene, Laughing Moon Con was created as a gateway to bring a mini gaming con right to the school setting. With a wide variety of tabletop games (everything from Steve Jackson games, Dust, Magic,Tunnels and Trolls, Werewolves of Miller's Hollow, Dungeons & Dragons, Adventures Under the Laughing Moon, and many more) attendees have an opportunity to sit down and experience the fun and excitement these games can offer. Many of the high-school aged kids are already familiar with similar games in the online world, but few have actually sat down to see the tabletop style of game that inspired all the rest. The social nature of these games is something that often brings these attendees back year after year and introduces some to what may very well be a lifelong hobby.

In addition to the many games, attendees will have the chance to meet and speak with a number of local artists and authors selling their original works, and sit in on a reel of upcoming movie trailers followed by raffles and giveaways of movie related t-shirts, posters, buttons, hats and more. The afternoon will feature a stunt show with the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard, as well as an appearance by K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider. A local group known as the Dread Pirates will be showcasing a sword fighting demo, and as dark settles in the school's theater club will open a haunted house to the public. Not only is this an event for the kids, it is a way to bring the local artistic and gaming community together.

We are always looking for new ways to make this a special event for the kids, and each year we hope to make it a little bigger and better. With badges costing only $5 (and all proceeds supporting school clubs) this is a great opportunity to get involved in a wider world of gaming, story-telling, and pop-culture.
