Games Workshop adds to their pre-orders with some new stuff. For those following along with the Warhammer Fantasy releases, they have their Khorne Daemonkin book in various forms, from electronic to deluxe edition. To get your figures to and from the table safely, they’ve also got 3 new carrying cases.

From the website:

The Citadel Figure Cases are the perfect way to transport and protect your Citadel miniatures. Containing one set of our revolutionary channel foam, the Citadel Crusade Figure Case has been specially designed to fit almost any model that we make, any shape and size, quickly and easily without the chore of cutting and shaping to fit.

Packing and unpacking the case is absurdly quick and easy; any model, however pointy, placed anywhere within the channels will be protected as well as if you’d spent countless hours hacking away at a custom fit. You’ll free up more time to concentrate on games, painting or just showing off your miniatures collection. The channel foam is as efficient a use of space as possible, allowing you to store more models more safely than any other case. Have a look at the images or check out the video in the tab to the right to to get a taste for just how life-changingly excellent these cases are – you won’t be able to work out how you lived without them. It’s ok. Those dark times are over now.

We know that you want the best protection for your miniatures – the foam inside the case is slightly larger than the case itself, and will compress around the figures when closed, ensuring a minimum of movement for any miniature.. It also has nylon catches, so if you should drop it the catches won’t break. To ensure the robustness of the stress points, a metal hinge runs along the back, strengthening and adding a reassuring weightiness.

We’ve put a lot of effort and research into making the case as comfortable as possible to transport, with ergonomically-designed handles for maximum grip – and the lid locks open, meaning no terrible accidents crushing your beloved miniatures on the gaming table. The Citadel Crusade Figure Case also comes with a padded shoulder strap, making it even easier to transport.

Limited to only 888 individually numbered copies, this beautifully designed edition is a must for any collector. Presented in a magnetically sealed box is a copy of Codex: Khorne Daemonkin and wallet containing a specially designed set of Tactical Objective cards, a set of 6 brass-effect Tactical Objective Markers and 15 metal skull-shaped wound markers. The Codex itself features a black gilt page edging, whilst the unique number appears on the inside of the box.

Roaring, blood-soaked butchers with an endless thirst for murder, the warriors of Khorne’s Daemonkin carve a red swathe across the galaxy. These are the Blood God’s faithful: zealots who worship Khorne’s Bloodthirsters as divine beings and who will pay any price to see them and their Daemon legions unleashed upon realspace.

This 120-page hardback Codex details the forces of the Khorne Daemonkin –warbands of Khornate Chaos Space Marines who summon Daemons of Khorne to fight with them in the mortal universe. This book includes:

– Blood for the Blood God – detailing the background of Khorne’s infernal legions and their fighting structure, the history of 6 specific Daemonkin warbands, their colour schemes and iconography. A timeline of key events since the end of the Horus Heresy and background of all of the unit types that form the Daemonkin.
– Warriors of Khorne – a showcase of beautifully painted Khorne miniatures.
– Forces of the Daemonkin – detachment rules that enable you to create a battle-forged army, datasheets for all the characters and unit types in the Codex, including the Lord of Skulls and five formation datasheets for fielding specific combinations of miniatures.
– Also included are army special rules, new warlord traits, the Bloodtithe table, 6 tactical objectives and wargear specifically for Khorne Daemonkin.

Wow, those figure cases are terrible! Isn’t the point to keep your minis from jostling around? Those zig-zags really don’t seem like they’ll do that. I guess

when you make all sorts of wacky poses that don’t fit into their old useful cases…
