From the preview:
I'm writing to you from my office in the new Infamy HQ, where there is now the wonder of working internet. Huzzah! This means that I can get on with all sorts of communication type stuff I've been restricted on. What better way to celebrate than with an update?
I'm pleased to report that by the end of November 42 of the 49 required sculpts should be completed. 5 regular sculpts, 1 X-Large and a certain Mr Kingdom are all that will remain. Assuming deadlines are hit, only 2 Regular models should remain unfinished by the time 2015 arrives.
This puts me in a great place for getting loads of casts done when pledge manager submissions come in next week. I'm not saying things are going to be easy of course, there's still loads of sorting, printing of digital models, book layout, painting, DVD making, rules refining and so on to get sorted. But, having the minis mostly sculpted and looking great is a very useful element in the Kickstarter fulfilment challenge!
It would be cruel of me to tell you about all those sculpts and not show you anything wouldn't it? Well, fear not! Here is Paranormal, in a finished (but for clean up, breakdown and a last few detail passes that need to be done after her final baking) state. Allan has done beautiful work on this one and I think she's going to be a challenging but immensely satisfying model for Big Smoke fans to paint up. She's right up there on my favourites list (though this changes all the time!). You might notice some dusty looking bits on some of the surfaces of the model - these will be washed off before she is finished.
In a week the beast is due to go live! I'm still tinkering about with it and working out the nuances of Backer Kit, but, you'll be able to do pretty much everything you would expect. Send me all of your details for delivery? Yup! Increase your pledge level? Check! Buy add ons in addition to your current pledge? No problemo! Join up if you missed the campaign? Absolutely (but only for a limited time!).
I will send out an update before the pledge manager is opened up so that everyone understands how to use it as much as possible.
Well, yeah, a few more things to mention...
I'm going to put the Infamy store back online soon (once the initial pledge manager mayhem dies down!). You won't be able to purchase anything from the Kickstarter on the store, but, the larger scale models and busts will be available. If you've been waiting for this (I do get quite a few messages about it) you don't have too much longer to hold on.
In addition, there will be some funky new stuff coming to the store in the form of a new Infamy Limited Edition range. I'm not going to say too much, but, here's a tantalising teaser.
That's enough for now I think. Hope you're as excited as I am about the progress! :) Let me know what you think in the comments folks.
